a forum is a place for discussions and opinions. you all just want a place to high five each other? come one.
And you all want Ballard to draft your perceived "superior" players that's been talked up the most in the media.

I'm surprised Nwosu went before Lorenzo Carter. I don't like whats left of this pass rusher class outside of Carter, Hubbard, and Ejiofor.
We're not getting a pass rusher early this draft. We're probably gonna go with what we have this season.
Next year's draft are loaded with pass rushers.

Looks like LBs are going off the board now.
Ballard was right in picking Leonard at 36.

What was the point of signing mewhort if we just drafted 2 guards? Smh
Maybe because both Mewhort and Slauson are both on one year contract, not to mention Mewhort too frequently injured.
Smh at your post.

Should have just taken Rosen and start over.
Luck is damaged goods and needs 5 first rounders just to protect him.
How can some people be this *ic?

We're not drafting a CB with our next pick. Accept it, and you're going to save yourself a lot of heartache.

Very cool story

Good job Chris Grigson. In all seriousness, I HATE both picks.
I despise posters like yourself, so that's that.

From walterfootball:
"If the first round taught us anything, it's that talented off-LOS linebackers are in demand right now. The Colts had a chance to select one in Roquan Smith at No. 6 overall, but they selected a better player in Quenton Nelson. Leonard is a nice consolation prize in Round 2. He's a speedy, productive linebacker who should be able to play all three downs in Indianapolis' defense."
Sounds like Roquan light, which I'm totally fine with.

Another GM who tries to be clever and reaches way down the board. Love the first round pick but these two are head scratchers for so high in second round.
No head scratchers at all.

LANCE ZIERLEIN AT NFL.com on Darius Leonard
Long and twitchy with athletic ability and straight-line speed that should light up the combine. Leonard has packed on the pounds since hitting campus, but it hasn't compromised his play speed as he has posted dominant production throughout. He lacks play strength and there are times you want to see more nasty in his field demeanor, but he has the traits and talent to become a good, three-down linebacker who can play 3-4 inside backer or 4-3 WILL.

This pick is so underwhelming that I stopped following the whole draft. I just check the list when they are done.
This guy, as impressive and good as he is, he is is not going to make any difference for Colts being a winning team.
I’m very low on Ballard right now, and after the bad judgement he showed with McDaniels debacle, picking a guard at #6 can only make things worse.
He is actually going to make a huge diffence for the Colts in terms of being a winning team. His quality amd attitude will make our line elite, which is everything in today's NFL.
Ballard made the perfect pick.

Perfect pick. Not flashy.
Best player on the board at a position of need.

I don't want you to just name someone and try to be right. I want you to name someone you think will bust (since you think it won't be Barkley, name your guy), and explain your reasoning. Put your knowledge Vs mine. People seem to worship you on this site, lets see if you're smarter than me about the draft. Then people can judge your reasoning with your guy against my reasoning with mine. If you doubt my guy, then I expect you to have someone in mind yourself to counter me.
Superman seem vastly smarter than you. You seem to have an inferiority complex which becomes evident every now and then. I see you often and explicitly mentioning how you want to take on users. It's like the kid who always dares other to punch him, picking fights; ""Come one. Punch me. Do it." etc. We get it. You want to argue. Then just do it. Do that. Stop baiting like you do above, and bait the proper way if you're going to do that.
Expect this board to mostly side with Superman though. Accept it, and you're going to save yourself a lot of heartache.

The Colts draft a TE within the first three rounds.
The Colts do not draft Barkley, Nelson or Chubb even if one of them is still on the board at the 6th pick.

Still don’t get why so many people want James, the safety position is basically this teams only strength until Luck shows he’s 100%, so I don’t see any need to waste a pick to improve it when we could get so much more improvement with the pick used elsewhere.
Geathers' injury and just coming back combined with the fact that it's a contract year for Geathers.
James would be his replacement and possibly an upgrade.
-
Not starter quality when compared to other teams' LBs. Fine with him as depth.

A Buckeye fan recently said he doesn't play up to his athletic ability. A step down from previous Buckeye corners. Pass.
A Buckeye fan? One Buckeye fan?
I guess that changes a lot. Crucial really.

A very good signing at that price.
-
He was so promising in 2016. With his 6'3" he really has the measurement to complete the WR group.
-
They couldn't land the other guards. But I reckon Slauson will be a solid short term solution. If we can draft a couple guards (Nelson, Hernandez, Price, Wynn) the oline should look better now and in the future.
AC - Nelson - Kelly - Hernandez/Price/Wynn - Clark/Good/Haeg

2018 NFL Draft Thread
in NFL General

We went into this draft saying trust Ballard. Now after we didn't get the picks we might have wanted personally, Ballard is in *? I'm not an NFL evaluator and it's been said Ballard is one of the best around. So we either trust him or we call Irsay for a job.
