I never feared Flacco, I feared ray lewis and that Defense and your RB (whose name escapes me) but Flacco never scared me as a fan like Jackson does.

Joe was steady, but never in the same league as Brady and Manning. Like Trent Dilfer, he solidly contributed to winning football in Baltimore. No one knows what the future of the Lamar Jackson era is in Baltimore. However, I can tell you he is a humble and nice young man who only wants to win. Like fellow Louisville alumni Johnny Unitas, he is an understated man who is team oriented. We are not used to high octane offenses at all in Baltimore , since the days of Unitas, Jones, and the old Baltimore Colts.  With the Ravens , it’s been mostly defense, but I enjoyed that also. I’m just enjoying the ride.

Lamar is so fun to watch. He might not have a super long career with his style but he is so electric. Hopefully they can beat the Texans Sunday.

We definitely want to help the Colts !!!

I don't understand why Oakland wouldn't build a stadium.     They have a super loyal fanbase.     They will regret it

I agree. They had many chances. First, they came back from LA. Then, Davis really tried to get a deal done in Oakland the last seven years , and the dumb politicians wouldn’t do it.
We had bad politicians in Baltimore, and still obviously do, but they never got a redo. Neither did Cleveland. The politicians in Oakland had many years to get it right. They never did. As usual , fans will suffer.

He used his legs to win right? That was his main ability against both.. hey I could be dead wrong for wouldn’t be the first time! Lol

I thought he used both, but that is his strength. Plus, he’s got three good tight ends, decent receivers , and a good running game. Some things Flacco never had. Put it together with his skills, and it’s a very unpredictable offense.
I will tell you one thing.  The offense is

much better than watching Flacco 2015-2018. Joe did great early, but the last years, like Denver this year  , were horrible. So however Lamar does it, it’s better than generally what we’ve seen lately in Baltimore.

  5. Reading some stories about this relocation , it’s interesting to see if Oakland fans follow their city , and disavow the Raiders , or follow the franchise logo, as they move to Vegas. In reading forums, there seems to be fans on both sides of this.
I fall into the city category myself. That being said, the city of Oakland has had a second chance to keep their football team , after coming back from LA. This was something Cleveland and Baltimore never got, but St. Louis actually did. The lesson is that you had better build a stadium quick for these owners, or the inevitable eventually happens.
I was eventually able to transition to the Ravens after we were forced to steal a team, after Taglibue and Jack Kent Cooke conspired against us in the expansion derby, but twelve long NFL years were lost in the wilderness.
The city of Oakland has zero chance of ever getting an NFL team back. It will be interesting to see if they follow the Raider logo to Vegas, or become a 49er fan, or a fan of some other team. This is another historic franchise with a national following. The NFL may be pushing London as the next relocation.

  6. Also , two 158.3 passer rating. I really don’t think Lamar cares about labels such as elite. That is up to future football historians.  The young man just wants to win, and he will either pass or run depending what the defenses give him.

If he is forced do that against a good D let’s see how he does. Right now it’s his legs and the style the O plays that throwing Ds off.. and that was against the worst team in the NFL the Bengals.. lol

i think Jackson be a good QB, not elite but good.

He just won at Seattle , and New England at home. Won at Pittsburgh earlier. Those are pretty good defenses , right ?

I would feel better if it came down to something besides a team sweeping the Pats. Jackson is good and the Ravens are good but still...what I said lol!

Unfortunately the Chiefs aren’t going to do it. I’m not writing them off across the board. They’ll get it back together and make the playoffs but forget Andy Reid winning a tight game.

The Ravens swept them twice in 2012 on the way to their Super Bowl win. The Colts did it also with Manning.

Lol meanwhile they are an Edelman fumble away from probably winning that game.  Lamar an amazing athlete but he is a mediocre QB.. once teams have a full year of film they will fall flat. UNLESS he gets better at passing.

Lamar 15-17 223 yards, three touchdowns , one running TD, 158.3 passer rating in three quarters. Any questions ?

Lamar was 6-1 last year taking us to a division title when we started 4-5. He’s 6-2 already this year , putting him at 12-3 as a starter. His passing is much improved, and his running ability speaks for itself. He had a better passer rating than Brady in the latest game. The key is he will do whatever it takes to win. We’re going to roll with it.

yeah but why should the tax payer's have to foot the bills for these massive stadiums? The reports I saw is that San Diego was willing to split the bill but Spanos wanted them to foot the entire thing

I don’t disagree with you, but with these owners , that seems like the cost of doing business for the city. If you have the Green Bay model , taxpayers will be more willing to spend happily because they have a stake in the team.
For the record, I think Spanos is a fool. I don’t think Bob or Jim Irsay put too much of their own money into the new stadium. Without a new stadium, the Browns wouldn’t be in Baltimore.
I don’t like all of this either , but as an old Baltimore Colts guy, I can tell you what happens to a city if you don’t put up a new stadium.

I dont mind teams moving so much as I do teams moving all to the same cities. IE LA.

The Chargers in LA just isn’t working. I’m not sure why SD wouldn’t put up a nice, new stadium. We learned that in Baltimore years ago. You do have to have a nice , updated facility for the fans, and so the owners can make a nice profit. Where it gets crazy, is when these owners move to make obscene profits, at the expense of fans , and the community . That is why I like the Green Bay model best.
I also think when teams move, they should come up with a new name and logos in their new cities. It is just cleaner when the team moves, and that fan base has their own, unique history, not tied to another city’s sports history.

It would be ironic if Cincinnati wins their first game against Baltimore. I don't expect that to happen, though. I still can't figure out how Cleveland managed to score 40 points against the Ravens.

DT , run stuffer, Brandon Williams was out that game, and Chubb ran all over us. Jimmy Smith , CB, was still out, and Marcus Peters hadn’t arrived from the Rams. Poor linebackers Williams and Young were jettisoned , and Bynes and Fort brought in to replace them.
Not to make excuses, but some key guys were out , or hadn’t arrived yet, when the Browns game took place. Still, good win by the Browns, and injuries are part of the game.

Thanks for the perspective and thanks for showing the Patriots what happens when they play a good team. :)

NP. I was impressed the way the Colts battered KC. The foundation is there. I enjoyed last night , but all Colt and Ravens fan know we will see the Patriots again. The key for you is getting JB back as quick as possible , and getting healthy for a playoff run. Honestly, I thought Hoyer played well yesterday considering all the rust . He had that bad pick 6 , but put the Colts in a position to win. Tough luck for Adam V. Besides the laces turned, that field at Pittsburgh stinks , and the swirling winds  are notorious. He’s a great HOF kicker, but there have been just too many misses this year, besides that one. Like Unitas in San Diego, there is a time when it must end. With only retreads out there , probably keep him until the end of the year.

  15. From an outsiders perspective , this is a young and talented roster . If Luck were here I think you would be 7-1.  JB is a good QB , but not at Luck’s ability level. That being said, he’s steady, and you can win a SB with a QB like that.
You’ve had a ton on injuries , and this causes chemistry disruptions , and games to be closer than they normally may be. You have plenty of draft picks , and I think Ballard is a great GM, and Reich a top coach. He would have been my choice if the Ravens axed Harbaugh.
If you get JB back, I think the Colts are better than the Texans. You always beat them when it counts. Then it is survive and advance in the playoffs, and we all know the road begins and ends with Hoodie.

Wow didn’t realize their schedule was that hard.

Also, at Cleveland and Pittsburgh at home. Next week at Cincy, and the Jets at home are the easiest games. As we all know , it’s a week to week league. You can never relax.

As long as JB gets healthy in a couple of weeks it is all good. We have Miami next week so we should win.

You guys have a very good team. With JB back , you should win the AFC South

As much fun as it’s been watching then get crushed it hurts because ravens will probably get the 2 seed.

We have a very hard schedule with the Texans, 49ers, Rams, Bills , among others , still coming up. We will have to earn it.

Ravens do have a date in Buffalo later on this year though, should be a good test for the Bills.

Fun fact: Last Ravens trip to Buffalo was 6 years ago, the Bills somehow upset the defending SB Champs and got 5 or 6 turnovers out of that game I think.

I remember that game. Flacco really stunk. That should be a great game.
