Both from the U, seems to be a common trend this off-season

Orrrr.... theres an idea of being balanced... Where you can spread them out and go 5 WRs (Hilton, Johnson, Dorsett, Moncrief, Carter), or you could go heavy run (FB, RB, 3TE), or you could go in the middle with (RB, 2TE, and a Speedster) and have tons of options. Balance is what every offense strives for.

ANARCHY! ANARCHY!
, Cut me a break ranting after being awake for 18 hours, gets tiring I obviously meant not. Fixed.
-
How does that pick make this team player?
The FO who GET PAID AND ARE OCCUPIED to SCOUT had Dorsett rated as their HIGHEST AVAILABLE player at that point. So according the the People who we PAY to get these opinions, we added the BEST player available at that point in time to our team. That's how we got better...
-
I lost interest in this post when you said no matter how much DL or DB is a need
If you're fine with having a terrible defense, that's your business
But defending this pick is futile. Nothing you can say can make this pick right
Are you not familiar with the idea of Best Available player? If you look at the tweet above, It says the Colts loved Dorsett and he was their top available player and it "wasn't close".
"Nothing you can say can make this pick right"
Nothing you can say can make this pick wrong.. Last time I checked you weren't in the Colts FO?
They took their top player and all of these fans that don't seem to understand the STANDARD method of drafting (BPA) and freak out when it's not at the position they want really need to grow up. Just like you, please GROW UP they took their top player on the board and didn't make the mistake of drafting for need.
-
Incase you're wondering:
For what it's worth, Grigson said Dorsett was the highest-rated player on the #Colts board. And it wasn't close.
— George Bremer (@gmbremer)
May 1, 2015"Not even close"

Just chill out. This T.Y. talk is so dumb. The Colts stuck to their board and took their best available player. Philip Dorsett may not make too much sense right now, but Andre Johnson is every old, and he'll be gone pretty soon. We need a future #2. You can never have too many Weapons, No matter how big of a need DL or DBs may of been, you always take BPA. DO not draft by need or else you won't have very talented players on you roster. Dorsett is a great weapon, who can come in and help in the rotation. This T.Y. talk makes me want to rip my hair out because he's not going anywhere. You can never be too safe, you can never have too many weapons, or go wrong picking you BPA over need based.
So please, just calm down. T.Y. is NOT going anywhere, Enjoy Dorsett and the monster our offense will be next year.

Where do you think La'el Collins will end up now?
It's such a strange situation I don't even know. I could see anywhere from Rd 3 or 4 to UDFA, to even a guy that has to wait a while (until some clearity comes to the murder situation so 1-2 months) just to sign a UDFA deal.

Hello! And Welcome to my final installment of mocks, big boards and other various things! Just trtung to pass time before the draqft so lets get it started! Just a couple of notes, I'll put them here. My COLTS mock is reflected off my 2 RD Mock, so the Picks will be the same. Also When I say (Projecting trade) it means I think that the player selected will go in that spot, I'm just not sure to who. So here we go!
The Colt's Mock:
1: Landon Collins, S, Alabama 6'0, 228, 35" vert, 4.53 40, 4.33 shuttle
Landon Collins, oh boy. One of my favorite prospects in this whole class. It seems like everyone in the Colts organization, and fan base love this kid too. I never really put too much thought into him at 29, because I never excepted him to be available, but it looks like PHI might trade up, or select CB/WR, and PIT might stick to EDGE, or CB. Collins is tremendous against the run. Takes great angles and finishes tackles. He rarely takes bad angles or misses. He's a great special teamer and a leader. He is a so-so athlete, but makes up for it with sheer skill. He has impressive range for his size and is not a liability in coverage, he can take TEs and RBs in M2M without it being a mismatch. He'd fit in perfectly with the Colts and could be an impact starter from Day 1.
2: Jordan Philips, NT, Oklahoma 6'3, 300, 34 bench, 26.5 vert, 5.07 40
Whaaaaat? Wasn't this kid in many 1st rounds not too long ago? Yep. Same guy. Philips is a very talented player, but there are some concerns with his back. Some scouts see him as a project, and that he won't be able to hit his full potential for a while (somewhat like Dan Williams). He has great upside, but could get washed out of the league because he may never use it. That causes him to drop a bit. Philips is a huge player (6'3, 300) Who is surprising very agile against the run. He not only takes up blocks, but disrupts plays. His strength is pass rushing though. He is very strong and has a great swim move. Would be a tremendous addition to the DL and could start for the Colts and grow with the young D.
3: Daryl Williams, OT, Oklahoma, 6'5, 327, 27 bench, 26 vert, 5.34 40, 5.15 shuttle
Williams is a monster of a man. He stands at 6'5 327. He uses his great size well as it is one of his biggest strengths. At Oklahoma he played both Left, and Right Tackle and played well. He is a high character kid with good leadership qualities. He possesses great Upper-Body blocking and is a tremendous pass protector. He uses his length and strength well, and is good in the run game aswell. What he needs to work on is getting to the second level, and moving better in space. Could play guard. He could come in and be the 6th OL off the bench incase of any injuries, and eventually slide in and replace Gosder Cherilus.
4: David Cobb, RB, Minnesoda, 5'11, 229, 17 bench, 38.5 vert.
David Cobb is a decently big back who possesses good athleticism for his size. He has very good hands and is a very QB friendly RB. He has great vision, and is a good pass protector. He is a good all around player who could step in the RB rotation very well. He has good stamina, leg drive, vision, patience, Antisipation, FB IQ, and size. He can do it all and develop into a great change of pace RB.
5: Derrick Lott, Chattanooga, DT, 6'4, 314, 4.99 40, 30 bench, 26.5 vert.
Lott has great size and strength, He is decently athletic standing at 6'4, 314 while running a sub 5.00 40. He is a project on the DL who has lots of potential. He uses his strength, size, and athleticism well but doesn't have good pass rush moves. He rarely gets good pressure, but he's great against the run. He can come in as a rotational DE, and play against the run while he develops his pass rushing skills.
6: Jeff Luc, ILB, Cincinnati, 6'0, 256, 34 vert, 4.57 40
Luc was a productive player at Cincinnati, he is a decent player in coverage, and is also decent against the run. He has below average instincts but makes up for it with a ton of effort. He is not great at everything but tries his hardest every play.
6: Darryl Roberts, CB, Marshall, 6'0, 182 lbs
Roberts is a all around okay player. He is very aggressive and goes for the big plays too often. Although he has great recovery speed he still gets flagged own field too much. He looks the part of a Good sized outside CB, and has the athleticism to do that. His technique and instincts need some work. Seems like a classic Grigs/Pagano project.
7: Markus Rush, OLB, Michigan St, 6'3, 235 lbs
Rush is another project pick. He is very underrted but was a big contributor for the Spartans. He is extremely athletic and apperently had a 'outragious' showing at his pro day where he looked like Clowney or Mario Williams. Could come into the rotation day 1 and develop. Lots of potential.
7: Nick Perry, S, Alabama
Perry is a kid the Colts were interested in. He played with Landon Collins at Alabama and this would be a re-union. He is a decent athlete and would bring solid depth to the team day 1.

Personnel man with a top-10 pick tells me his team is prepared to draft Randy Gregory tonight. "We're not going to let him get past us."
— Rand Getlin (@Rand_Getlin)
April 30, 2015I saw this. Wow, so stupid. Especially letting the media find out 4 hours before the draft..
I would guess Falcons, my dark horse is the Skins though.
-
@RossTuckerNFL: Eagles. Wow. RT: @975TheFanatic: Tim McManus "Two 1sts, future 2nd rd, Cox, Kendricks, and Vinny Curry is the latest package in deal."
Wow.
-
Randall is a physical kid who makes physical plays for his size. He has the top end speed which will help him in coverage, and he's decent in run support, not anything great but not a liability.
-
-
Collins wouldn't need to be what Randall would need to be.
Collins could play in the box almost as another LB, like Deonne Bucannaon with Arizona last year.
Randall is a FS, who can cover with some physicality.
Collins is a SS, who is very physical with decent coverage ability, but wouldn't/won't be a problem if he is used properly and could be a great fit next to Adams.
-
i have not seen one mock with him in the first round
I've seen many. Lots of buzz on him as of late.
Apparently the Bengals love him and are considering him at 21.
-
Where do I sign? I LOVE it.
-
RBs I'd take by round:
1- Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon
2- Duke Johnson, Tevin Coleman, Jay Ajayi
3- Ameer Abdullah, Mike Davis, TJ Yeldon
4- David Johnson, Buck Allen, David Cobb, Jeremy Langford
5- Cameron Artis-Payne, Josh Robinson, Zach Zenner, John Crockett, Matt Jones, Karlos Williams
Tons of depth in this draft.
-
Havenstien is way to stiff to play his hardest in the league for 5+ years. He'll be out of the league in a couple years.
Also, I don't think he'll ever become even an adequate pass blocker, he'll always be very poor in that area.
-
I could see:
Cooper -JAX
White -CHI
Parker -STL
Dorsett -PHI
Strong -NO
Agholor -HOU
Perriman -BAL
DBG -CLE
all taken in the 1st, It's possible. Tons of top end talent. Lots of buzz on these WRs.
-
Campbell goes in round 3, LTP goes 4-5, as stated above David goes in round 3 as well.
-
The Basics, Randall, Anthony, Rowe, Fisher like you mentioned.
Here are some of mine: Ogbuehi, Donovan Smith, Preston Smith, Owamgbe Odighizuwa. I'm completely for picking players you like too early so you can get them.
-
Laken Tomlinson may very well be the best guard in this class, but we have no idea how much Duke's scheme protects him in pass pro.
I'm a big fan of his as well. Duke ran mostly a man blocking scheme (like us) so I'm not too worried about the scheme transition.
-
thats two rounds too early for cam thomas
Cam Thomas in 4th?
I actually think that's more realistic than everyone has him right now (Late 6th). He's one of those guys that EVERYONE loves as their 'under the radar' guy which brings his stock up more than you'd think. I think that's where his stock realistically stands. Not the 6th like everyone who has him in there mocks think.
-
I've seen lots of stuff saying it won't affect his stock on Twitter.
Unfortunate for all hopes on getting him in a horseshoe.

Do you not understand the basics of "Best Player Available"? Just wondering...
This is the only thing needed to justify this pick:
