  1. Brown- I want this guy to suceed and I think he has something to prove this year

Hughes- Im wondering if we need to go back and draft another 1st round end next year. The position is too important not to have a guy waiting behind Freeney and Mathis,\ Chick- I watched this guy in the CFL and Im wondering if he can adjust to the NFL or if he has the skills

Harris- Im super interested in how our new DL will look with someone like him in there. If he plays well and stays healthy, all of the sudden we may have a dayum good line.

Bullit- Im interested if he can step it up to be a true strater in the NFL. He has always been #2 on the depth chart this is his first year where its his position to lose.

Kevin Tomas- I want this guy to work out on the simple fact I think this is our biggest need in terms of a single position.

  2. I'll tell you why people would rather have people like Gruden, Cowher, etc. as head coaches...

    1.) passion

    2.) fire

    3.) tenacity

    4.) energy

    5.) enthusiasm

    6.) ::insert other adjective here::

With the exception of Caldwell's anger at Chip Vaughn, Caldwell seems to lack these qualities. He doesn't believe in 4th down conversions, yelling at teammates (regularly), getting into the refs faces, onside kicks... Even in the Patriots 4th & 2 failed conversion game, it wasn't the Colts that went for 4th down. It was the Pats who beat themselves up. The Colts took it slow, methodical, and capitalized on the Pats. There was zero risk involved, other than relying on the constant arm of Peyton Manning.

People aren't looking strictly at Caldwell's record because they're also looking at his behavioral traits. This guy is going to lead our team once Manning retires, so we want to see the same level of tenacity Peyton Manning shows on the field as Caldwell shows on the sideline.

Why does a guy have to be screaming on the sidelines to show passion. Some people show their passion by coming to every sitution ready to put in the work necessary to win games.

  3. The more I think about it, the more I am okay with this. Right now I feel like we only have two glaring weaknesses on our team. Right tackle, and our 2nd CB spot. I feel Link gives us the best opportunity to block the run. I also think we will have Brown or Addai helping Link in the pass blocking in the beginning of the season. I am also more comfortable with it not being Peyton's blind side. Lacey still bothers me, but we will have to see what he can do before I am overly-skeptical.

Agreed. I think a few more games for Link and we can make a sound judgement. Getting blow up a few times is going to happen to a guy with little experince. Lacey has no such excuse.

  4. I agree these play back and bend defenses are not working anymore. we need to attack the other team and make them hurry then they will make mistakes and we will get turnovers.

I really don't mind bend but dont break philosophy. We dont possess the skilled corners for that kind of blitzing deffense. If the opposing offense is on the field longer its gives more chances for them to make a mistake and get in a third and long. The colts are made for third and long. I really think with if the new DL can shore up the run game we are going to see some pretty good defense, maybe in the top 14, lower in scoring.

That being said, after watching Lacey get burned by Braylon Edwards in the playoffs last year, I just can't believe he can compete with big strong recievers. I hope as the season progresses we'll see some one develope into a good number 2

  5. So glad to find this forum. I am a displaced Colt's Fan in KC,KS and need to find like minded folks! Unfortunately my cable co in odds with NFL, so can't view NFL network, which means I can't watch the Colts :( Anyone know where I can view games while in Kansas? Again, thanks for this forum!

I live up in Calgary. I got the NFL package from my cable provider and for the last 3 three years I've watched about 12 hours of football a week.
