  1. You don't have to tear down a franchise to rebuild it. I haven't seen the Patriots tear anything down nor have I saw Pittsburg or Green Bay. They simply transition. They don't gut their team and leave their franchise and fans floundering and tell them don't worry...in a couple years we will be good again....that sounds like an EXCUSE. There is an easy way and a hard way. The hard way is to keep your franchise relevent...winning while you reload. The easy way is to just blow it all up and not worry about what your fans and supporters think. Give them some vague promises to hold on hope to. Sounds a lot like some other franchises that I see in the top 10 of the draft year in and year out. Could we have moved Freeney and restructured some people or cut them to free up cap space. Yep. Could we have kept Manning and drafted Luck..yep. Could we have gone another route with a different young qb and traded those picks. Sure. We could have freed up 20 million just by trading Freeney because we already had 6 million. That would have allowed us to sign Saturday, our picks, and either Garcon and Wayne or some other FA. Drafted a replacement for Peyton and d-line or WR. This isn't how it had to happen...but it is how it happened. I will hold the team accountable. Until they field playoff quality teams they have to prove to me they did the right thing because we could have been back with the team we had with some retooling the way the other elite franchises have. All we did was show that our top brass doesn't do things the way that the elite most admired franchises do things. That just tells me of the quality leading the organization. We don't have the skills to do it the hard way...lets take the easy way out. The only one to suffer will be our fans and loyal captains of the team who have led us the last dozen years.

You really expressed a lot of how i feel. The Great teams use their greatness they don't run from it.

  2. My concern is Garcon will make a YouTube highlight vid of all his services and distribute it to the league, and the rest of the league will be like, "WOWOWOWOW! We must have this guy!" Oh wait, he doesn't need to...

Multiple one-handed catches, the Ed Reed strip fumble, his speed and acceleration... If that's what a #2 WR looks like, I'd love to see a #1 WR. Granted, he had Manning throwing to him, but still, he's an exciting and dynamic player.

Ahhh that vid made me so happy and then so sad.

  3. but you can build a mansion in it place. people need to understand that with everything there r 4 seasons, spring, summer, fall and winter. to have life you need death. the colts 2 yrs ago where in the fall stage, last season was the transition from fall to winter and the next step will b spring and the summer. you cannot have spring with out fall nor summer without winter. just like you cannot have the front of your hand without the back of your hand or heaven without heck.

Most people and fans want to so desperately hold onto past good times instead of moving forward.

My issue here is the culture of winning we had for 10 years. I think there were some very good people in the old org. I was hopping we would retain the cream and dump the sour milk but its all gone now. If building from scratch was the way to make a championship team we would see it more often.

  4. It's hard for me to say... because I was certain Manning would stay but, you need a franchise Qb then you find all the other parts. I would have preferred keeping Manning and trading the pick.

We are rebuilding and starting at a franchise Qb is the right way to do it. We invested heavily in our O-line last year and both those guys look promising. After we draft Luck it's time to go after D-line and maybe one more guy on O-line. Once we've got that in order then you go after the other pieces.

  5. It was time to rebuild a long time ago. We was going nowhere and was going nowhere for a couple of years now. It should have been done a long time ago but it was not the case. Maybe if we started earlier maybe the Colts and Manning would not have departed. But who knows, if that would be the case. I do think things would have gotten worst if we kept the younger Polian in charge and the elder one was going to retire anyways and kept the lifeless coach in Caldwell. Yes things needed be changed in the Colts the system was broken and now its time for a new and better system that will work.

We went to the SB 3 years ago. The next season was full of injuries the one after had no franchise QB

  6. Looks like I am going to travel to a different city this year to see the man that got me into NFL football. Its a shame, I wanted to check out LOS. I'm not impressed how Irsay handled all this but what do I know. I do do know that my money is going to be spent in a different city next year though. I can't look back on this in ten years and say, " I had a chance to see Manning play and didn't take it."

  7. I was sure he would be released but I though he would re-sign. I hope he goes to the Cards. It just seems weird to give up on the best. This team isn't really the same team any more. Coaches, players, GM are all different and done so quickly. It just seems odd to make such drastic changes to what was a very good team 2 years back. Really, the horseshoe is the only thing that hasn't changed. This will take a while to get used to, like a long while.
