I'd say this was a bit of a nudge to draft Hooker. Interesting news.

I like what I've seen from Banner so far character wise. Almost a Cory Redding type of personality. I hope he's able to contribute.

Don't you just hate that. Run into somebody and you just don't know exactly what to say and you end up telling them what time it is or some crap like that. lol Then they walk away thinking.... Uh did he really just tell me what time it is?
My wife had a good time making fun of me after.

I ran into Donte Moncrief at the Keystone Mall last night. I shook his hand and awkwardly congratulated him. Not sure what I was congratulating him on exactly but he was cool about it and thanked me.

The guy is a playmaker. Hard not to be optimistic.

With how much Ballard is preaching that this draft is a deep defensive draft, I would not be surprised is we chose Forrest Lamp if available.

I disagree, the team is limited by the salary cap so obviously fans have a right to have an opinion on how the team spends it's cap resources and draft resources.
Our opinion does not matter of course but it's entirely sensible that fans would have an opinion on these things.
I mean if for example Chris Ballard signed a kicker to a 5 year 75 million dollar deal with 50 million guaranteed, would you not flip your lid? Because if not you should. A top 5 kicker is worth like 4 million per year and the deal I mentioned above is for $15 million per year. So that means that's 11 million dollars per year that could have been spent on a better field player (and you can get some good players for $11) And the guaranteed money means that money would be tied up for probably the next 3 years.
I am in agreeance with your concept but the scenario is a little dramatic.

I hope I am proven wrong but I don't believe we have any corners on our current roster, other than Davis, that are more than "just a guy".

Funny enough, most Pats signings are the types that we just made. 2nd or 3rd tier players brought in to play for peanus and with good coaching and culture elevate their play to 1st tier players. They've made like 3 exceptions in the past decade, though one of them was this very year.
Not sure if there has been a team that has moved on as quickly from as good and as many playmakers as the Pats have over the years too. Jamie Collins and Chandler Jones just in the past calendar year. Malcolm Butler might be following them soon.
I don't like all the signings we made but I like the overall philosophy.
Strange thing to play for.

It's really unfortunate that his time in Indy didn't live up to his hype coming in. Hopefully he's able to get/stay healthy and contribute somewhere else.

We are not better without Mathis. Even if he's a depth player, that's still valuable. He is not the player he once was but he is still a great tool in our toolbox. He's not an every down player but still is useful in situations.

Edwin is young with lots of room to grow. I hope he's still around next year to see the evolution of his play.

Speaking of Linebackers I didn't realize Dqwell Jackson got a concussion last night.
Mike Wells ESPN Staff Writer
Lost in the night was that Colts coach Chuck Pagano said linebacker D'Qwell Jackson and offensive lineman Denzelle Good are both in the NFL's concussion protocol.
It was towards the end of the game. ESPN didn't show who was injured but made a verbal comment that there was an injury.

Cory Redding was a huge asset. He brought a lot of passion and inspired the D to play better than they were at times.

Could it be related to poor attitudes? They were bubble players already so if they were being disruptive in the locker room it might have pushed them out.

Josh McDaniels. If you can't beat em...

So what?
Like I said earlier, people too often allow themselves to be prisoners of the moment. This completely botched play doesn't undo all the other good plays they've made on STs. As bad as this was, you don't have to abandon the entire concept and say 'no fakes ever again.' Just don't run that fake ever again.
This is a very interesting statement that applies to way more than this forum and football. I'm glad I took the time to read this. Thank you.

The zone has got to go. Period.
I said the same thing last night! Why were Mathis and Newsome lined up over the RT when they have a 3rd string LT in there!?? Complete and utter oversight by Manusky (per usual)
Also, what kind of garbage is called when we are dropping our DE's (namely Cole on a WR) into coverage? Hell, even that * Collinsworth could see that.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think that the Pats shuffled their O line and put a RT in that they had just signed after their backup LT went down.

I bet Varga goes to IR. Seems like his concussion has lasted too long.

I'm not sure if it's exactly the same but I had shoulder subluxation when I played HS football. My shoulder would "slip" out of socket when I would extend my arm to make a tackle. My whole arm would go numb and be very sore for a few days. I played defense and not QB so I was able to play through it. Doubt I would have been able to throw a ball well after.
Another thing to note is that once it started happening it never stopped. Still have issues with it today (almost 10 years later).
-
Hate to be too negative on the guy but it seemed like he lucked into falling in the right spot. I don't think he *read* anything, it was more of a right place at the right time scenario.

Jack Mewhort for me. I think he'll grow in to a reliable solid guard for us for many years to come.
