  1. Not trying to justify Tolzein over Morris but the backup QB requires a lot more than just playing QB if that makes sense. When AL comes back they'll revert to more of a coaching/spotter role. Maybe Morris doesn't have what Tolzein does in this department? Just speculation.

It does seem that with AL's history, we should invest in a backup QB that can play.

  2. Preseason is preseason. I've seen some great things from certain groups (poor things from others) but we do not have our starting lineup playing together with a solid game plan. I'll start forming my real opinion after the Steelers game through the end of week 1.

I think we might have forgotten how preseason was during the Dungy years.

  3. I get the talent acquisition part of this theory but there is no way I would agree. I will never ever think the Colts losing is acceptable. Great GM's don't need high draft picks to assemble stellar teams. Example - Patriots vs Browns.

I'd much rather see us get back into the tradition of winning all of the time.

Do you suppose his nickname will be Mack Truck ?

I mean if he learns to steamroll his way through then this is his calling.

Hopefully he is relevant enough to warrant a nickname.

Just because a player gets injured does not mean he is soft. Would you consider Luck soft?

Different situation completely. I am referring to players who have a history of getting injured once contact is involved (like a Greg Toller, Art Jones, Ben Ijalana, etc.). They are all tough people, I'm sure, but their body struggles to hold up once physical play is involved. Jon Bostic is a current player I have in mind.

He could literally be off PuP in one day.

As someone else stated - why even put a player on the preseason PuP unless you think there's a chance he could go on regular season PuP?  Why not just hold guys out of practice when they have minor tweaks?

I wonder if there is some sort of financial benefit to the team for placing a player on PUP. Maybe something within a players contract that would help a team get out of paying some non-guaranteed money if injuries persist.

  7. I'd argue that Mewhort is towards the top of the re-sign list if not at the very top. He is a solid lg and has the versatility to play other positions in a pinch. We should do whatever we can to keep the oline intact for a few years.
