I cant really see the colts keeping Brackett around if they do infact switch to a 3-4, atleast at his current pay rate. With the emergence of Kavell Conner and Pat Angerer, there really isnt much need for him anymore. Bracket's main thing was being able to read the Offense and understand his own D scheme very well. If they do switch all of that becomes questionable and brings his value down a substantial amount if his injuries havent already done that.
I wonder what kind of opt out option is writen into his contract.

It seems that the Reggie and Pierre are mostly able to make a catch and protect themselves, while Collie tends to take vicious hits regularly. Is this more of an issue with the nature of the position (slot vs wide receiver) or are Reggie and Pierre just better at protecting themselves?
Slot receivers catch more passes across the middle than your outside guys. There are more (larger) guys in this area and they love to hit receivers not looking for them coming. It's the QB's responsibility to put the ball in a place to help protect the receiver and I think Collie's concussions were a result of Peyton forcing throws.

@JasonLaCanfora Jason La Canfora
Names Bears considering for GM gig include Decosta (BAL), Snead (ATL), Dawson (TEN), Farmer (KC). Have a feeling Snead gets it #insideslant

Sounded good. Made me think a lot about the colts of years past.

I dont see how it's possible to keep Manning, Draft Luck and still have money to pay quality players to be competitive. If it turns out this way I dont know why, other then maybe a sense of loyalty, Peyton would want to stay here for the remainder of his career.

The Chargers actually made out better then the Giants in my opinion.
No way. How many super bowls have the Chargers won with Rivers?
-
Looks like Mathis may be a pro bowler this year too.

Can Luck be successful without a strong running game in Indy?
-
Donald's will to get extra yards here lately has been most admirable. A lot of his yards, for the most part, have come on his own by breaking tackles and making big plays out of busted plays.

Ok what happens if something happens with Peyton this offseason or pre and he needs further surgery or it just doesn't heal right. Now we r stuck. We didn't get the franchise qb we could have and r stuck.
Anyone can get hurt. We could draft Luck and he could get hurt the first play of his career. It's football, injuries happen.

It's completely ridiculous for anyone to be hoping for the Colts to lose out this season. That is not football and that is not being a fan.
I was disgusted last night when I heard Mike Mayock going on and on about Colts fans wanting the team to lose out so we can get the number 1 pick. I NEVER want the Colts to lose. If you want a losing team go cheer for the Browns.
Will Luck be a great NFL QB? Probably. Could Luck be another Ryan Leaf? Possibly. I am tired of hearing about him and I grantee the players on the Colts roster are too.
My hope is that we get the number 2 or 3 pick and get a good solid D player that can come in and help get us to a Super Bowl the next couple of years.
Side note: I think it was great that Reggie was the one to catch the game winning TD in possibly his last game at home as a Colts player. He has been a pleasure to watch over the years and I hope we can get a few more out of him.

Why can't they just admit that Lacey made a good play?
INDIANAPOLIS Running back Chris Johnson could have done more to break up a Matt Hasselbeck pass intended for him in the second half, Coach Mike Munchak said.
Colts cornerback Jacob Lacey intercepted the pass and returned it for a touchdown. Lacey was aggressive, getting between Johnson and the ball.
“I think he has got to do a better job on that ball,” Munchak said. “At least break it up or make it incomplete. That’s bang-bang and it’s hard to tell on the sidelines, but again that’s a ball that should’ve been incomplete or caught and tackled right there.”
Said Johnson: “The defender came over the top of me.” He admitted he wasn’t on the same page with Hasselbeck, who took the blame for a bad throw.
“I’ve got to do better there and help him,’’ Hasselbeck said. “That’s on me.”
Lacey did finally make a good play but I would say the majority of the credit for the INT goes to CJ for his lack of effort. CJ looked bad all day.

The Indianapolis Colts.
We are quite possibly the worse team ever at this point.

I would say you are dead on. BP is the same guy that built all of our great teams of the past, and he knows what to do to fix the current situation.
BP is a 6 time NFL executive of the year and has had countless undrafted free agents and late round picks turn into studs. I think he gets a pass on his recent busts for now.

Wow. I'd love to see what Carter can do running behind an actual O line. Hopefully these guys can remain healthy and not get a case of the Colts famous injury bug.

After I get done coaching my nephews 3rd, 4th and 5th grade all-star team to a championship this weekend, I'll be happy to take a crack at getting the Colts their first win.

Even if the Colts had little or no interest in drafting Luck, they will still say they are interested. They have to make other teams, like the Dolphins and others, think that they will draft him so they will receive a good value in return for that number 1 pick.

Why aren't we running the ball more period?
-
I am almost 100% positive that Peyton already does this kind of thing to some extent. O coaches work with D coaches on game plans and figuring out other teams blocking assignments all the time.

We have guys on the current offense who can step up and play one game without #18. I say implement the widcat so Addai can throw half of the throws and let C. Painter hand off to the RB all game and let him throw an occasional 10 yd pass to Tamme or Clark. We need to put this on our defense more! We dont have to worry so much its Houston they are not the Steelers or the Pats!! We as fans need to quit complaining about this for real!
Might as well try the The Annexation of Puerto Rico during the Texans game too.

No way to predict how we will do next year. We have no idea what players or coaches will be here.
