You know your fellow colts fans are trying to claim that this thread was started in an effort to gloat about a team's success. And that one should not gloat on a forum.
Then you come along within a few hours and come out with a comment pointing out that some teams don't even make the playoffs, and direct that comment directly at a fan from one of those teams, and a division rival to boot.
Priceless.
It did not take more than a few hours for one of their own to violate a practice they are claiming should not happen on a forum board.

Some of you truly need to look up Spygate.
For the millionth time, all that was recorded was signals that 80,000 people could see. Instead of writing those down by hand, BB just recorded them because it was quicker.

Anywhere else but the patriots forums these are the, facts they were not ethical in there involvment in the taping! They were issued fines if they did not break the rules they would not have been. Well lets take the topic at hand. Lets substitute another team with those stats. Do you suggest stats showing a team of decade should not be allowed? Unless of course its colts. Patriot fans like any fan who break rules get warnings.
Fans leaving because of what? Count the number of patriot fans here. People leave for many reasons and others join yet you pretend to know why?
Why can't a topic be discussed intelligently? I'd be really curious to see how parity is or isn't the reason.
I thought this was a COLTS board and have been reading posts for a number of years, I havent made very many post but I used to like the opinions brought up here, I started posting a few months ago and had some very good discusions until I gave my opinion on the patriots , I was instantly told that I didnt know what I was talking about and pretty much told if I didnt like it I could leave .I AM A colts FAN,I have bleed blue for 20+ years, and I am sick of reading all this crap about how good the Patriot are and they did not have any advantages by filming and changing the psi of the balls,If they want to spout there crap let them do it somewhere where someone that gives a crap will read it.When this crap is posted here there is now other reason but to start a argument.

imo we wont cut trent, or we would have by now.but if I am wrong and we do cut him, hoody will take him in a heartbeat and use him to beat us once again, hoody game plans to a players talent, instead of making him play a coaches system

Alright so after watching the Seahawks, we can see that the Patriots will always find a way to beat any defense even if it means bending the rules. Why cant the Colts do the same? This could be something to practice in the offseason. Short passing is the killer with an aging brady.
What if, the defense can drop down one guy on the floor and the other guy tackle him. (even if it means acting like they tripped if thats illegal. From what I know, no clipping and no tackling below the kneecap.) We see the amendola and edelman are not the tallest, therefore hard to tackle. And gronk. So by dropping down, the players jump and force the players to jump, slow down and accelerate again since they are fast.
Its not something that we can think of the week before a game, its something that needs to be practiced over and over like the patriots always do.
Other honorable mentions are:
1. Working in rain and snow even if its fake. Lol. Wet balls and whatnot. If it means doing it everyday even when its sunny, the better the team will get. New england doesnt have the best weather.
2. Working on no huddling more. Maybe we can create a faster one that the league hasnt tried before. Tire the defenses in the first half. Calm down and huddle in the second once the teams are tired.
3. Have the cornerbacks work with wide recievers so they know every aspect of the game. Learning how to catch better can make a crucial game impact in intercepting better.
4. Have cornerbacks put more pressure on wide receivers and play rough with them. Patriots are very aggressive on defense.
5. Work on mentality. The most crucial of whats been killing us. We can have the best gameplan but if the team just thinks about the past dominance with the pats, they get easily intimidated because of how they pick apart every team.
Patriots will be looking for ways to bend the rules again this offseason so its really important that the colts do the same. Pats have been in the league way long and have the talent and experience to survive every situation. The only way they are going to be beat is if the other team bends the rules like they do. Iron sharpens iron..
Would you jump off a cliff because the other team did it? I would quit watching the colts if they sunk to the same levels to win as the Patriots do.

Here's the bottom line as I see it. This organization has a history of playing fast with, or on the borderline of rules. This investigation is on going, but in the Spygate matter, fines and draft picks were levied, and the owner called his coach a s--uck.
You can't take away the four Championships obviously, but the issue will be the legacy of Kraft, Belichick , and Brady in the best of all time arguments. Perhaps they will be declared the best, or perhaps historians will compare them to a Pete Rose, Barry Bonds, or Rodger Clemens.
These guys were winners like the Patriot trio, but their legacies have been tarnished by questionable issues. Tarnished legacy, or in the best of all time arguments. You be the judge.
I judge GUILTY In my small little mind I personally add an astrick and hope they get suspended a year!!!!!

Far as the topic goes, yes. The Patriots will be in the thick of things again next year. Obviously any team can be derailed by injuries or for a number of reasons, but assuming they're relatively healthy, they will be in the conversation again.
Yea i am supposed to believe that the ball just magically lost air pressure. You have been looking thru rose colored glasses . Some one DID IT, I dont believe for one instance that he did not know, and if you do I have some waterfront land in the mohave i would like for you to buy!

Brady will most likely be suspended for most of the year next year for his involvment with deflategate So it will be two years from now before you have to worry about him. Thats what I think should happen anyway.

If you get to where you are by cheating then simple logic says cheating has everything to do with your accomplishments. If A causes B which allowed you to accomplish C, then C doesn't happen without A. Cheating takes the integrity out. What a horrible injustice to have the Superbowl champs be the team that got caught cheating. NewColtsFan, I think you should reevaluate what the Patriots actually accomplished.
You are Correct, They should not have been in a position to win the super bowl. Ravens or colts should have been playing!

No the reason I hate the patriots is because they are cheaters and it looks like they will cheat at the drop of a hat to win instead of playing the game by the rules , They continue to bend and manipulate the rules to there advantage whenever they have a chance. What really burns me is they do it knowing that they might get caught but the risk is worth the reward(superbowl)

Lol...again - I find it hard not to laugh at the "morality" soapbox. Did any of you Colts fans care about "the integrity of the game" when your team was busy tankling games to get Luck? And don't get me wrong - it was a good move..you need a franchise QB to win in this league, the Colts weren't winning the SB that year, so it's a no-brainer - lose as much as you can and get that player. But don't be hypocrites.
Where are you getting your proof from ,I dont believe that they lost on purpose at all,We have proof that the patriots cheated call it a soap box or whatever but you are wrong and you are rootin for low life cheaters that I would not allow my grandchildren to watch because of their values are not up to my standards

We'll see how it turns out but I don't expect much of a punishment without proof of who did it and chain of command.
One other tidbit that is important here that I don't think anyone has mentioned, the rule book states that punishment can be increased based on the degree of competitive advantage gained. Everyone agrees that whatever advantage the Pats gained was minimal and did not alter the outcome of the game and that is why I believe in the NFL report they stated that they made the Pats play with inflated balls in the second half as the Pats scored 28 points vs 17 from first half to the second in worse weather conditions. That will be important point when determining punishment if any.

cover up by the pats? I think that much is obvious. The balls lost air. Someone on the team let the air out.
