  1. Is he really the guy? I read an article that he was taking most of the snaps on offseason. We saw that the line became solidified when he was switched out. Why are the coaches so stubborn with experiments? (one in which it shall never be mentioned again...) wont go anywhere if we dont fix the holes.

I agree,Its like they refuse to see it.

  2. Pardon me for bumping an old topic, but you're aware that the Steelers had only 58 rushing yards and 2.2 YPC in Super Bowl XLIII, right? In fact, the Steelers ranked in the bottom 10 in rushing yards and the bottom five in YPC during the 2008 season. If that's supposed to be a great running game, then I'd hate to see what a mediocre running game looks like.

As for the defense, awesome; that's about all Roethlisberger had for half a decade. His offensive line sucked until about a season and a half ago. And after Willie Parker broke his ankle in 2007, the Steelers didn't have another worthwhile RB until they drafted Le'Veon Bell. Rashard Mendenhall doesn't count either; there's a reason why the Steelers told him to get lost, and why only one team offered him a contract afterward. And the WRs as a whole were overrated too, considering a) Santonio Holmes and Mike Wallace don't have a single 1,000-yard receiving season without Roethlisberger throwing them the ball, and b) Hines Ward was past his prime by the time Antonio Brown arrived. So yeah, thank God for the defense. Without it, Roethlisberger would have had almost nothing. The reason why the Steelers had back-to-back 8-8 seasons is because the offense had to be blown up and rebuilt, and the defense declined before the rebuilt offense came together.

As for Andrew Luck, no, he's not better than Roethlisberger until he learns how to take care of the ball better. He had 16 INTs last season, which is essentially an INT per game, and he had 13 fumbles, which is more than any other QB in the NFL. That's 29 breaches in ball security last season, which is too damn many for an "elite" QB. That's almost two per game. If Roethlisberger lost the ball at that rate, he'd be crucified upside-down. Luck's eight extra TD passes last season are wiped out by his seven extra INTs and four extra fumbles. I'm sure Luck will be great in the future, but people need to pump the brakes until he's not so careless with the ball.

I dont think hes careless ,Its hard to throw from your butt and his center sucked.   Also  his receivers did not fight for the ball,(maybe Reggie did before he got hurt) This year we should see alot better stats

  3. Right! haha

I'm just curious how many blowouts were there between the colts and the Texans ,I have been a colts fan for a long time and I remember every game between these two teams being a good game, I dont see the colts just walking over them , or for that matter anyone, with that defense points might just be hard to come by.

  4. I don't want people to pretend anything. Call it whatever you want, I just want you to be consistent with the way you judge a team that had a 'competitive advantage'. I personally don't think it was as big a deal as it was made out to be as headline news and a national scandal.

Consistency is all I ask...for example...Jerry Rice is on record saying he used Stick-em when he played...which was against the rules and I guess comparable in terms of the type of advantage that would be gained (grip) through this kind of equipment violation. Do you put asterisks on the 49ers Superbowl Championships?

Well Did the rbs gain an advantage too, along with the qbs and anyone else that touched the ball? Did Jerry Rice fess up? If they cheated Then I have no problem putting an * on them But I doubt  they lose any sleep over my * My simple opinion is there is no room in professional sports for cheaters be it by the colts or pats or anyone else. If i thought my Idol peyton cheated I would be just as down on him as I am brady. I used to be a Sammy Sosa fan but after his deal I wouldnt go out of my way to stick up for him, He was a good ball player and did some good things but he cheated and after I got over my disappointment I was glad to see him leave the game. Again you will or will not come to terms with the facts and its a shame but on this board and in most of the worlds eyes be prepared to see alot of *************.

  5. Apples and oranges, Shane. Not only was he banned from the sport, but he was stripped of his medals and there is quite literally no record of his Tour wins.

People will view Brady and the Patriots however they want to going forward, and that's their right. Everyone has an opinion and it may stem from how they handled this situation or it might be from the act itself of playing with deflated footballs...whatever the reason is, everyone has one. But when you actually sit down and think about it, if anyone truly, truly thinks that what the team has accomplished and what Brady has accomplished is only because they played with a football that was .2 PSI below what is normal, well then there's nothing that anyone could ever say to make them think otherwise.

Brady has started for 13 seasons in New England...and he has never gone more than 2 seasons in a row without playing in the Superbowl. That statistic is absurd...and in the future when people look at this team in this era, they will be less concerned with an equipment violation and more concerned with what planet he was from.

He comes from planet Beli cheat

  6. Bingo, the fact that you do not see any * next to their rings proves my point.  No one who is consistent will see the same with the pats.  Thanks for making my point.

The only people that will see *s are the ones that do not like those teams and the pats.  that is my point.  those that do not see *s next to those teams and do no hate the pats will not see *s for the pats either.

haters are just gonna hate man.

No *'s because they did not cheat twice that we know off. What do you want everyone just to pretend that the pats did not have competitive advantages for years? I Just cant do it with all the facts that are out there.

  7. No it isn't being talked about anymore here...but I'm referring to the damage that was already done. No matter what happens in the appeal, people's minds are made up and that came as a direct result of how this was treated as some grand scandal. I think the way it blew up the way it did is because of the era we are in...it didn't used to be like this.

No it comes as a direct result of the pats being know cheaters and getting caught again

  8. And you may want to write down that we have 4 rings.  I don't worry about our rings any more than I worry about any other teams that won titles or any more or less than I or others think about the Raiders, 49ers, Broncos, Steelers, etc.  But thanks for playing.

And you may want to write down that we have 4 rings*

    all get a big fat*

I don't worry about our rings any more than I worry about any other teams that won titles or any more or less than I or others think about the Raiders, 49ers, Broncos, Steelers, etc.

What? If you are saying what I think I dont see any * next next to there rings.

But thanks for playing.  Your welcome its fun.

  9. Yes, ColtSense, I understand where you are coming from regarding the need to talk to satisfy the masses now, so I hear yah.   I do think though that long term folks will remember the results and his position/statements in the upcoming appeal/any court action.

We will know soon enough in those actions Brady's position on the matter and whether Goodell and any court action will side with Brady's version of the facts, if there are indeed different than we already know or that is presently known to the league.   Three years from now my guess is that most folks will likely not worry too much if Brady's made his points in early May or mid August so long as his presents his points in his own defense and/or concedes anything that needs to be conceded.  We just have to wait and see.

Three years from now most people if not all will still be attaching asterisks nest to his tainted name and victories.

  10. Just because I point out your complete lack of logic does not mean you have ruffled my feathers.

    1.  You say stats are nonsense but they are not, they don't tell the whole story but they are not nonsense.  But I will ask then, how do you quantify a 25% improvement?

    2.  I won't answer all your cherry picked scenarios but I will a few.  if the RB runs for 100 yards and his runs, whether 80 yards or 2, help the team win then he had a good day.  If a guy runs 300 yards against the worst D in the league then he had a good day.  If a safety has 10 tackles and they are all 20 yards down the field and he was playing his position like he is supposed to play it in the D then yes he had a good day.  If he was making those tackles because he was out of position and thus had to turn and chase then it was not a good day.

    3.  Your point about a GM doesn't make any sense either because a GM that sticks with his mistakes because of money will be fired faster than a GM that moves on from his mistakes.

    4.  I know you want to bring the Patriots (funny how that works) into the conversation but no, they do not often trade their 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks for 5th, 6th and 7th round picks.  In the last 3 years the Patriots have drafted 16 players in the first 4 rounds.  They drafted two players in the 1st round in 2012.  So what you are using for your example does not exist in the real world.  They had dead money on their books just like every other team.  In fact at just over $13 million in dead money for the 2015 season they are in the top half of the league in dead money.  Two teams near the bottom of the dad money list (meaning the least amount of dead money) are the Jaguars and Browns (1.7 mil and 1.5 mil respectively).  So dead money really has nothing to do with how well a franchise functions.

You can do what you want, but I would highly suggest that when you have an idea you support that idea with reality and not your perception of how reality should work.

    3.  Your point about a GM doesn't make any sense either because a GM that sticks with his mistakes because of money will be fired faster than a GM that moves on from his mistakes.

Then why keep trent ? SOOOOOOO long

  11. I doubt if this has a lot of merit for a legal case either way.  This is an association that is ruled by it's own agreements.  That's why "guilt" is determined by what the players and league have agreed to in advance.  That's why the burden of proof is what they have agreed that it is.  That's why it doesn't take absolute, irrefutable proof to bring punishment.

It is a privilege to play in the NFL, not a right.

    Thanks

  12. Well here we are, wondering whether or not TB gets suspended, AM fighting tooth and nail like TB is her son, Blind to all Facts and not caring about all the proof that is contained in the report, Poor Tom did not tell   the equipment manager to deflate the balls he just payed him when the balls were how he liked them and if they  had to much air he just let them know they were not right.

This is absurd TB is guilty he helped make the rules then he broke them,

BB,s job is to know what goes on

Kraft payed them to win at any cost ,

They cheated  they new they were cheating then they lied about it  granted BB has more practice at lying and cheating so he didnt get caught this time  but he should be held responsible for letting this take place.

If it were Luck I would expect the colts alone to suspend him, The league wouldn't  need to interfere.

If the league dosen't come down on them the NFL will be the loser.

I think I,m done until the suspension gets  handed down .

I kinda admire AM for being able to some how  validate TBs innocence

    P.S.

The sourgrapes commit really irked me

  13. Trent played so long because of injuries. Carter is a gamble that could have high rewards for very little money. Johnson is a no brainer and could very well be a great mentor to Carter and Dorsett. You are beating a dead horse with Richardson. When he was signed over 90% of all thought it was a good signing. The offensive line had a lot of injuries last season and that is why there were so many different starting lineups. Swoop has not shown the ability to take a starting or a back up roll.  Grigson has made a couple of o-line signings that should work out fine. This fantasy you have in your head about the Colts not wanting to win is just that, a fantasy.

I like johnson and carter, we cant play all the talent we have at wr now. I liked trent when we signed him but it didnt take me but maybe a half dozen games to see he sucked,And there was other players that did a better job that were not hurt Im not the expert you are but ill bet you wanted boom to start.  Swoop is a good athlete just no experience  probably wont get a shot now

  14. The fact that you say it's all about money. Have a little faith in the defensive players we drafted, they are good !

I dont doubt they are good, I hope they are great  I really hope they can get the job done,If not we are stuck with them because pags will play them even if they suck example TRENT

  15. So by your reasoning the Colts picking a WR over a defensive player shows that they are not wanting to win? There is such a thing as future. The pick was made for the future and winning in the future. The WR position is really not that strong even thought the Colts have many. Quality over quantity. Johnson may be in his last year, that remains to be seen. Carter has proved zero at this point. Swoop and Whalen are career back ups. If you honestly think that Irsay is not in 100% in winning maybe it's time you moved on to another team?

Why pick up carter, johnson and draft a wr when we need line men ( i might add the best available in the draft)

How can you say swoop is a career back up when he has not been giving a chance?

If luck gets hurt(god forbid) because of inferior line men we will not fill the seats or win.

Any thoughts on why they played trent so long?
