  1. That was during the halftime recorded interview with Chris Collinsworth. I also recall him saying his goal was to win the Super Bowl, and he added if that doesn't happen this year, then the more immediate goal is to make the playoffs.

I love the consideration for his teammates and the fact he's setting lofty goals, not something like, 'the Colts were 2-14 last year, so I'd like to double the win total this year or even finish with a .500 record.'

This guy is special in the way he thinks, the way he learns, the way he plays and the way he conducts himself. Going to be a great ride!

  2. Lots of potential in these two guys...they'll only get better with experience. I like the direction we're going and was impressed with the game last night. We out-played Pittsburgh and the game came down to mistakes we made that cost us. Those mistakes will hopefully dwindle as the season progresses.

  3. Despite the fact that they get paid, it is still hard for them to be as familiar as a diehard fan is with a 90 man roster when there are 32 teams and they only cover ours this week.

I see your point, but these guys had just ONE game to broadcast this week and several days to prepare. I used to broadcast high school sports and there were teams with 90 players on the roster. I had a spotter and I'm sure these guys have at least one spotter.

  4. I really hope we don't have too many games with these fill in refs. Last night has just downright horrible and the NFL should be embarrassed after the showing they have done in all the games up til now. I seen holding so many times last night I was screaming mad not to mention that horrendous spot on the negated touchdown.

I agree...lots of mistakes that can possibly determine the outcome of a game. Let's get the real officials back before the season starts.

  5. Whether or not it's a concussion, it seems to me that defenders make an effort to hit him in the head. Maybe it's my imagination, but I don't recall any of our other receivers over the past couple of seasons getting hit in the head as often as Collie.

Bottom line to me is that he needs to evaluate things even if this isn't a concussion. He'll take more shots to the head at some point and we're now learning the long term effects of concussions on players. He needs to enjoy his family more than he needs to play football. It's a shame...he's a very good receiver.
