  1. I hope he does but after fumbling on Saturday in the playoffs I am guessing his touches are going to be limited.  Coaches know you just can't fumble the ball in the playoffs and you really can't do it the way he did.  High School coaches teach you not to change arms with the ball when you are in traffic.  At this point though I'll believe it when I see it from Trent this year.  I think he'll get better with a full off-season in our system but till then I don't think the light is going to all of the sudden come on after it's been off all year.  It would be awesome if it does though and I am sure not going to complain if it does.

  2.  Anyone who would believe that this will be Trent's last game as a Colt can not be taken seriously. A lot of you folks have no idea how you sound, bunch of know-it-alls, brilliant! Donald Brown? Anyone? The last thing you expect happens regularly in the NFL, to pretend that you can sum up this kids career as a bust beyond improvement is absurd.

  3. This has been my whole point. The Pats are doing it more often at 4.4 a clip which is better then the Colts. The Pats rushing attack has been better because they can rely on it every time to get 4.4 a clip. They are in #3 in points scored. The Colts are 14. A big part of that ranking has been the rush game. You really have no argument. That has been clear this whole time but keeping arguing YAC like it is the only stat to judge a rush game. It's not.

Lucks beard will dominate the elements, toms "beard" is for show! The versatility of Lucks beard and added warmth will have more effect on the outcome of this game than 0.1 ypc.

  4. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Colts just trade their 1st round pick this year for a RB that they then had to bench?

How is that relevent to our current topic? Consider yourself corrected, they didn't have to bench TRich they chose to start Brown with Richardson on spot duty. Since you brought it up, how many weeks was Ridley a healthy scratch?

  5. If a teams running game was only evaluated on a simple yards per rush ratio, then I would agree with you, however there is a lot more to evaluate than the base number per rush, which is why the Patriots are ranked 9th in the NFL and the Colts 20th. However that's not my main point, and again this is only my opinion, but I'll say it again, this game won't be won on the arm of either QB, but rather on the legs of the running back that best able to grind out those cold wet first downs.

My opinion is that your opinion is probably 100% wrong. In a game that features one of the all time great QB's (Brady) and up and comer (Luck) you think the play of New Englands RB's will be the difference? You may be right, but I highly doubt it.

  6. Pats have a more versatile stable of RBs with Blount the pounder, Ridley the slasher and Vareen who is one of the best third down backs in the league and can go down field as a receiver. It is probably the most dynamic part of their offense.

Vareen is the one of the leagues best third down backs, in your imagination, Ridley has one good year (2012) but he puts the ball on the ground way too much and has been known to get knocked the heck out. Blount also has ball security issues and a scant resume' to say the least. We shall see, but those running backs aren't keeping the Colts coaches up late, Tom Brady is.

  7. In a game of inches 21 yards a game more is like a mile, but clearly rushing ranks are evaluated on a number of factors, yards per attempt, yards after contact, TD's and so forth. Make no mistake there is a reason the Pats are in the top ten while the Colts in the bottom third. In fact looking at this game and seeing what a lot of Colt fans and pats fans are talking about, I believe it's the rushing game that's going to make the difference in the game. While the fans and media talk Brady and Luck all week long it's going to be the team that can grind out 1st downs in a cold rain that's going to win. JMO

I am inclined to believe that 20 yards rushing will have little to do with who wins this game, it will be a shootout, hell or high water IMO.

  8. Yes, by far. The Colts are ranked at 20th in the league in rushing, bottom third of the league, the Pats are 9th overall, it's actually not even close.

21 more rushing yards per game, is kind of close IMO.
