  1. Richardson has been in the league almost 2years now and has been mediocre the entire time. Not exactly what you want from a 1st round running back. I can wait for linemen, corners, receivers, quarterbacks.....not real patient with running backs.

He had a good year for the Browns,(ypc I know) he has struggled this season no doubt. Being traded during the season did not help his development. Trent should be rounding into form by the time the playoffs roll around, and he's got fresh legs. I am not big on predictions but he may go all Zach Crockett or Rosey Potts circa 1995. Stranger things have happened.

  2.  Colts 23 Chiefs 16, funny that the Chiefs are thought of as some kind of offensive powerhouse suddenly.

They lit up the Raiders and Redskins big friggin deal, they got destroyed by the Bolts and Broncs lost 3 straight before grabbing two cupcakes. Jesus H Colts fans, have a little faith, they threw screens for TD's vs the Raiders all day, it has no affect on our match-up this week.

This is the NFL and the sooner that you realize that just when you have it all figured out you are often reminded how little you really know. See expert picks on any random sports web site, and these are "experts" they watch NFL football for a living. It's not so simple.

  3. There will be good players available. Why do they have to make an immediate impact?

The same reason Richardson has to be Earl Campbell Jr. or bust, right out of the gate. Patience is a virtue that is becoming quite scarce in modern times. Who believes that good things come to those who wait, other than me and DB?

  4. They've significantly upgraded their QB and coach since then and their record speaks to that.   KC has scored 101 pts in the last 2 games.  We gave up an average of 40 pts in our losses to the last 3 decent teams we've played.

    Yeah Alex Smith is awesome!

giphy.gifThe Chiefs are allowing 28.8 points over the last five weeks, Raiders and Skins are not exactly powerhouses on D. I contend that we match up well, due to the fact they have a game manger for a qb and their recievers are on par with ours. The Colts are to the Chiefs what the Chargers are to us going back to the mid 90's.

  5. One great game from these two player you guys forget about the other crappy games from weeks past....Werner should or could produce more is the colts weren't stupid enough to sign Erik walden. This is the same guy who got suspended for a game for head butting and also gave up the long touchdown run last year. Richardson guy carry for 2.6 Yards . Then people show up and says he look like colt Rob player from the past or from other teams. Well he is not he is TR and right now he plays like crap. People blame the online. Then how come brown is producing more...... Then people say he ddoesn't know the play book yet it new to him it been three months since he got here.

  6. The Chiefs have the ability to put mega-points on the board as seen from there last result at home.  We are likely in trouble this game but we can't fold the tents due to the seeding (we are playing for at least something).  The problem is, we know how we have been playing against good teams lately, terrible, and bad teams lately, terrible (save titans/texans).  So on paper, this is really ugly and we get beat by 30 or so points IMO but if there is a magic potion against the Chiefs, then I think we possess it.  I just don't want Jason Whitlock to get a hold of our potion before game-time.......

The Raiders gave Nick Foles 7 TD's in less than 3 quarters, The Chiefs do not have a dynamic offense, I think we match up well, we shall see. Good quarterbacks have shredded the vaunted KC defense, just so happens we have a good QB.

  7. you mean a special teams player and a running back who runs for 2.6 Yards a carry.

Maybe you missed my point? A first round draft pick is hit and miss, especially late in the first round. Hopefully TR will have the last laugh at some point. Werner had maybe his best game yesterday so did Trent. Monsters are not built overnight.

  8. The Colts need not apologize, just keep improving. The Texans did not quit, they were beaten by a better team, next stop KC.  If we beat the Chiefs how will you rationalize that? If these guys can beat the Broncos, we can damn sure beat the Chiefs. I wonder if the Chiefs fans are worried about their leaky defense of late or if they are just happy with the win?

First off, it was nice to get the win yesterday. I was happy to see Trent rip off a couple of nice runs. Hopefully Donald's injury is not too serious. I thought the offensive line had a nice game as well. Unfortunately, we have to lead the league in dropped passes. It is unreal.

That being said, it is clear that Houston has packed it in this season. Their playcalling was horrendous. All year we have gotten burned by teams going deep, yet Houston went deep all of 2 or 3 times. The protection was good enough for them to go deep, and the running game was good enough to work the play action. Case Keenum is a capable quarterback, but he is being set up to fail. It is too bad. I just think it is bad for the game when that sort of thing happens.

That being said, Houston could be scary on defense next year. ESPN was reporting that Bridgewater is wavering and may go back to school next year. I imagine the Texans will go with Clowney in the draft, and that is downright terrifying to thing of Watt and Clowney coming off the edge together.

One final tidbit for all the posts I have seen praising Pep Hamilton. I was disappointed yesterday, and really have been disappointed with him all season. We run more 3rd down plays short of the first down than any team in the league. You want to know how you lose football games in the NFL? Settle for field goals!

  9. Its really irrelevant to a point because alot of games, even some they won, they looked like a pop warner team! Some of those teamsmentioned either play really good or really bad.

It takes 17 weeks to build a finished product. A loss no matter the margin is still just 1 loss. What point was irrelevant? My statement is that the Colts lost to good teams, beat some great ones, and beat all the bad ones. Keep on building over the next 2 weeks, we will see how it pans out. The Rams and Cards have really good pass rushers on the interior, there are no teams in the AFC playoff picture that pesent these kind match-up problems for us, plus the loss of Reggie is softened evey week with experience gained by our young pass catchers. This team is making adjustments in scheme and personel, our players are getting better plus we have the element of surprise, these Colts are like a box of chocolates. Lets Go Colts!

  10. The original poster didn't say first round draft picks.    He only said "draft picks"     To me, that means all rounds.

And if you look at his follow-up e-mail to me...   he pretty much confirms that.

Besides,  the highest rate of success if the first round.   With each passing round the percentage of success for players taken in that round drops....

    Just the way it is.....

Me?   I like building through the draft, and supplementing with free agents...    I'm willing to make a trade for a targeted need,  but you had better be careful it doesn't come back to bite you the way our trade for TR has....

And for the record,  I supported the trade at the time (though only slightly...)

I believe in building through the draft as well, just saying we gave up a 1 for TRich, if you nail a few picks in the  later rounds you are still building through the draft. Being a top pick only guarantee more cash for unproven players.

  11. how long did it take most of these named above to be good at their position?and what about the ones who never made it? ugho, roy hall, etc.

That was kind of the point, 1st round picks can be over rated, players are available in all 7 rds and beyond.
