I like the premise of the thread, but I normally think Bayless is an *.

this could be a blood-letting down there in Houston. Just trying to prepare everyone. Colts will definitely not win the game. They have been building this team through the draft and other means and Texans are going to be as good as ANY team in the league this year. I hope we (colts) win but just saying' The Texans are going to take us out to the van down by the river.
As much as I hate to admit it, I have to agree. I am trying to be rosy, but the Texans are good.
Can you imagine the cheers that Kerry Collins will get as he runs out onto the field?
-
I like Gonzo, but I am not sure he warrants a roster spot at this point. Can't be counted on.
-
And, thought he did nothing substantial for us, he did get some playing time in. Just wanted to correct your statistics
He filled in at TE of all places.
-
I think they just signed donnie avery so we have another option for kerry/peyton when they play

Melikes.

No. I am saddened by the fact that 18 won't be under center and the streak will stop. But it would be cheap to take a token snap.
-
Uhhh, Texans finally make it to the post-season?
-
He had a running game in Tennessee and a defense.
I will be very surprised in he wins a third of his games in Indianapolis.
Frankly, I'm worried about the Brown game, let alone the Houston and Pittsburgh ones.
Same year, we started 3-4 and ended 12-4. Don't jump yet!
-
No we're better. That's why we've been to two Super Bowls (one just two years ago) and won every AFC South Title except for two.
Thank you.
-
And we will have to adapt.
-
We will be without Manning..yes. And that is hard. But we will have Collins under center...Let's not forget that in 2008 he had the Titans at 10-0...and won the division at 13-3. He is no slouch.
I am trying to put a positive spin on this bad news...bash away!
-
And it was down when I was reading all the bad Manning stuff at night! Nowhere to vent!!!!!!!!!

The thing that concerns me is that JMV doesn't seem like the type to just throw something out there if he isn't sure. He was even joking that he might have to move or something if he's wrong.
There have been a lot of media Tweets since JMV's last night. Right now Peyton is being reevaluated, not progressing fast enough. Probably misses a few weeks.
-
With what I am hearing about Peyton, it should be "Another Year, Different Problems".
-
Yeah.....if its accurate, this was NOT the news we wanted to hear about Peyton.
I will say this though....if its a choice between Peyton being healthy next year or putting himself at any kind of additional or permanent injury risk by playing this year, or too early this year...then he needs to stay out and get better. Neck injuries are the last thing you want to screw around with.
Hopefully....this report is just a result of the team being extra cautious.
Following Twitter and the Colts blogs...I am believing that Manning misses at least a few weeks...at the least.

I'd feel a lot better with Collins than Painter.
That truck by Evans was great. Just what the Colts need!
-
cuts could start now.
JMV is reporting Matthews will be one of the first cut and that Brown and Hughes are both very much on the bubble.
It's time for Brown to go. Hughes had a good showing last night, and has had little real game action. Brown, on the other hand, has shown what he brings to the table. I was very patient, especially since he shows flashes occasionally. But I am done with Donald Brown.
-
I think you are pretty well spot on here.
Observations from the game tonight as it relates to the roster:
* Not sure what to make of Painter not playing and Orlovsky playing well. Still I think you are right and Painter makes it
* I think Brown got cut tonight. Could be totally wrong about that and if I am, I think it means James got cut because...
* Evans played his way onto the team
* Agree that both Brayton and Anderson don't make it
* Chick is iffy and 5 LB's seem a risk but Chick can play speacial teams so that helps there
I hope Chick makes it. Hughes looked good tonight too.
I have kept hope for Brown up until tonight. He is terrible and needs to go. 1st rounder or not!

For a minute, judging from the Thread title and it being on the Colts forum, I thought this was pertaining to OUR Foster, the DT. Relieved to see that it is just the Texans' guy.
Probably should move this to NFL General.
Colts related b/c we play them in the opener.

Woo hoo!
:foam:

I actually see it as smoke and mirrors, but a little precaution never hurts.
I think the Colts brass wants Houston to believe that Peyton won't play so they don't know how to game plan against us.
I hope you are right!
-
His signing is actually bad news, not good news. I think this means Manning won't be ready
-
I think this means they are legitimately unsure if Manning will start in Houston (and beyond)?
-
I'm sure he has the physical tools. That's just not enough.
No Surprise, Peyton Officially Ruled Out/possible Second Surgery (Merged & Closed)

I think the bad O-line play contributed A LOT more to the disappearance of the long bomb than some realize. Peyton has had, in the last 3-4ish years, way fewer opportunities to let WRs get open deep.
