Nice article. I was fortunate to watch Air Coryell's Chargers (3-0) play the Patriots (2-1) at the old Schaefer Stadium in 1979. It was my first live game. Dan Fouts, John Jefferson, Kellen Winslow, Charlie Joiner all played but were held in check by Mike Haynes and Raymond Clayborn. Steve Grogan, Russ Francis and Sam Cunningham were the stars on offense in the 27-21 Patriots win.

1. Patriots
2. Colts
3. Broncos
4. 49ers
5. Seahawks
The last 8 super bowl winners are 0-4 in the playoffs the following season. The Seahawks should buck that trend but it's not a given.

Justly deserved. He is still amazing.

Good riddance.
One man's trash is another man's treasure.

I thought bart was a 49er?
When I first saw Bart I immediately thought of Jim Harbaugh.
-
It's no big deal to me. He's just a kid having fun. The Patriots have one of those too, Rob Gronkowski. You would rather have your players stay out of the off-season headlines but it could be much worse, like Aaron Hernandez worse.

I thought I had seen everything there is to view on these forums, but seeing a Pats fan brag about going to the Super Bowl and losing it wins the top spot for me. I know you guys are going to always defend Spygate until the end, but this was absolutely hilarious. Calling it a "non issue" is pretty funny considering how lightly the Pats got off on it when compared to the bounty issue with New Orleans and losing our coach for an entire season for something that every other team in existence has been doing for half a century.
New England hasn't won a Super Bowl since W. was president and just cause you reached two of them and lost is nothing to be proud of.
Oh and losing to a 9-7 Giants team was absolutely hilarious. 2011 Giants are the worst record team to ever win a Super Bowl and it was against a 13-3 more 'superior' New England team. But Belichek and Brady are still the Holy Trinity of the NFL with Kraft over them as the classiest and greatest owner ever.
If the Pats lose one more Super Bowl then it makes them even in the big game and then the dynasty will be the funniest thing in the NFL since the Bills lost 4 in a row.
Brady isn't getting another ring, I'm positive when it comes to that. No matter how many times they get cupcake schedules, there's always going to be someone more hungry in the end, and those Giants teams wanted it way more than the Pats in both those games.
Laugh all you want, most of us can see more than black and white. Championships are always the goal but only one team can win. That doesn't mean the other 31 teams had a poor season. Many a great team failed to win the super bowl.
The Buffalo Bills had a great team. That's how I remember them. They used to kick our buts. Getting to the super bowl isn't easy. You should know that.

If Scott Norwood makes that 47 yard field goal in Super Bowl XXV, we look at the Bills differently. Legacy decided by a kicker. Is Bill Parcells still a hall-of-famer if Norwood makes it?

There are no secrets in the NFL and especially between division rivals. The Jets know all the Patriots plays and vice versa. Besides, players change teams all the time nowadays. You don't think they share their former playbook with their new team?
-
Whatever you do, don't bring back Joe Washington. I hated that guy. He killed us every time.

I figured this thread was what injury would be his excuse to get out of the ProBowl
I thought the same thing.

Peyton was great and so was his defense. Heck, the whole Broncos team played great. They have a real good shot at winning the super bowl. The Patriots didn't stand a chance today.
-
Yes, you had a chance. The turnovers and non-calls in New England kept it from being in a close game. Denver's offense isn't as potent as early in the season. Losing Von Miller and Chris Harris really hurts their defense that was playing well of late. Seattle and SF are tough but they are beatable as you know firsthand.
-
Poor Corey Redding. He was really gaming all game and hyping up his teammates. Did you see Dante Scarnecchia tell Luck he knows he will be a champion some day? Pure class from one of the most underrated coaches in the NFL.
Dante is great. I don't know if the Patriots would be as good without him. He's right about Luck.

You don't need to tell us that. It's how our team makes a living lol.
I left my friend's house early during the NO/NE game. With 2 minutes to go Brady threw an interception and all NO had to do was run out the clock. I heard the comeback on the radio. What was I thinking?

its over
Not yet!

Comebacks never happen in the NFL. ;)

Aside from maybe the NFC West, there isn't much of a difference between the divisions. Every team is some shade of average. The have-nots are catching up to the haves. Parity is real. Looking at strength of divisions and strength of schedules is becoming more and more meaningless.

The Broncos' offense was held under 400 yards only twice this season.

With all the injuries they have had this season they are still possibly the most brutal team to play in their house in the playoffs. And don't feel bad about being high on us winning or thinking we had a good shot, as fans there is no harm in riding the wave of optimism and emotion. I thought we had a shot too. We kept chipping away at times in this game and staying in it......but then it snow balled on a young QB and our team.
Don't bash the Colts too hard. We are not that far off. We have beaten some very good teams this year and also got our first playoff win with Luck, in historical fashion too. The playoff monkey is off our backs......and we are STILL rebuilding.
But, NE is still a force to reckon with. They just "find ways" and are incredibly more experienced at this too then we currently are. There is a reason why it's so tough to win there. Baltimore with their veteran D was the best at it and when the Jets won there it was one of the biggest upsets we have seen.
We will be back. The future is bright. And congrats to all our Patriots fans here. Good luck next weekend.
p.s. Is it Peyton time yet? lol I think that wagon is going to get stronger then ever!
Thanks Jules. I never felt comfortable until the end. You will never be out of a game with Andrew Luck. The Colts proved this season that they belong.

I'm a dunce. I have the Seahawks and Saints both winning today. If I'm not too late, I would like to change the Saints to the 49ers.

Wow, that was crazy. I did not remember that game. Those field goal attempts were wild.
I think having a QB that can run will be an advantage. I kinda wish we still had Matt Cassel. Kinda.

Predicting injuries is a sure bet since every active NFL player gets injured an average of two times a season.
