Yet another week of the mediocre Chiefs offense barely winning by the skin of their teeth against cupcakes.
Â
Â
Can't wait to hear how awesome they are all week.
For what its worth, the 72 dolphins only played two teams with winning records that year (both finished 8-6). 40 years later, no one talks about that, just that the dolphins are the only modern era team to go undefeated.

My bad, I was thinking post draft/in season type second guessing. Greg Cosell I know had him rated ahead of Luck....maybe Jaws too.
ah...yeah no worries. Post draft all the second guessing came from fans and the 'Skip Baylesses' of the world...there might have been a few prominent names still in the Griffin camp, but I can't think of any off the top of my head and don't feel like digging. The people that still think he's a legit franchise QB (not counting fans/media) base it on potential with the realization that he's by no means a finished product.
-
Scheffter reported prior to the draft that there were teams who had him rated higher; of course no names were divulged because it was before the draft. A quick google searched turned up a few other articles from before the draft as well citing various unnamed GMs and scouts. That's more credible than Skip Bayless I think. Now granted the majority of people had Luck at the top, but the premise of my initial statement was in relation to this thread and how its primarily aimed at media/fans who are hyping him up - most of which have questionable crediblity...or none at all.Give me one credible person

There was never any second guessing
Sure there was, maybe not within the Colts organization, be there was chatter. And its completely understandable to want to be on the side that was right.

yeah I know we've been down that road...difference in perspectiveHis pompous me me attitude is what i can't stand.

I don't really see any Redskins fans caring - at least in their forums or any that I know in person. Hardly ever see Luck's name mentioned from any of them, but the situation is different because there isn't any second guessing the pick - they never had a shot at Luck. Seems to be a one sided affair - at least within their respective forums. Not sure what you are trying to prove but the thead is an embarrassment. No RG fan or skins fan started a thread about how lousy the Colts looked just two weeks ago to the Chargers who are not the Broncos by any stretch.
A few stray belligerent fans trolling over here doesn't count.

Both
media and fans I can totally understand The other...to each their own.
-
let's see what Griff has to say...
-
honest question....is it the media and fans of Griff that cause these feelings, or Griffin himself?
-
The funny thing is that this is the exact same line they had last year.Cousins went down... our o-line has met its match.
-
the interior of that line has been pretty bad all year with missed assignments and just plain getting beat....credit to Morris even though most of his yards come on the outside.
-
Hall has actually been playing pretty good this year....for what its worth.
-
Broncos now with the NFL record for points scored through the first 8 games.
-
same type of play that skins scored on earlier
-
well the implosion took longer than I expected it to...credit the skins defense and special teams in the first half for keeping it close...2nd half...not so much.
-
not if they actually watched the game (barring a big improvement from Griff in the 2nd half anyway)I do not want the damn skins to beat Peyton then the media will still think rg3 is god
-
I'm just curious how those stats were waited...
-
I would love to see Fitz on a team with a legit QB and a better situation than what the Cardinals are facing.
-
I anticipate the skins leaning heavily on the run game for as long as they can keep it close. If Griffin has a lot of passing yards, I suspect it will be from playing catch-up.
...I'm as big a Griffin supporter as there is on these boards, but no way do I think these two belong in the same breath at this time.
-
...throwback unis with the arrow on the helmet.
I do like those uniforms.
I'm indifferent personally, but I did read a short little blurb a while back suggesting the name Washington Red Clouds (in honor of the Chief)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Cloud
Kinda like how the Chicago Blackhawks are named after an individual. Might sound a little clunky or weird at first, but after a while it just becomes the norm.
-
congrats to the colts...was a fun game to watch Playoff rematch would be crazy, but I have to admit I'd be pulling for Denver (Champ Bailey fan).
-
from an outsider; best of luck to Wayne and speedy recovery (don't know yet what's wrong other than "sprained knee"). He's one of the good ones.
-
Interesting article on a version of the name's history I hadn't heard before.
-
I wouldn't be too worried at this point. Everyone has a clunker from time to time. Indy is still in the top 10 of the NFL. Just get to the dance and see what happens

I predicted Desmond Howard would win the MVP of Super Bowl 31. There was no precedent for that happening
