and yet another thread deteriorates into Luck or No Luck...
-
Garbage time. We were down by 28 points going into the 4th quarter. Garbage time.
And there's always a hater that calls him/herself "objective"
Get a grip, he was WAY better, "garbage" time or not.

I think Minne wins either against WAS or CHI. If STL loses next week, they'll go 0-4. With Orlovsky under center, there's a possibility we win at least 2 games.
Good! I'm fine if we get the number 2 pick. I'd LOVE to get the number 1 pick and trade it for a king's ransom but since the Polians never trade, I'm fine with avoiding the Luck controversy alltogether! I just want us to win a few times. I still think that we'll probably get the first round pick even if we win 2 games.

Gargage time, puhleaaaze!
300+ yards and 2 tds does not equal garbage time. Did the Pats ease up, sure. But you can't thumb your nose at 300- yards and 10/15 third down conversions (as opposed to Painter's 2/9 last game). And 26 first downs. Time of possession 36 minutes. That's a HUGE improvement over the last several games!

I agree with you if this is week 3... We are 0-12... Time to make this season worth something.
We have NO chance at Baltimore, very little chance with Houston. We're still gonna get the #1 pick. But lets preserve some dignity, people!

hmmmmmm..... I think he'd have brought Dan in for the last game at least, just to make sure we don't become the 0-16 Lions.....
-
yeah, I thought we'd fare a WHOLE LOT worse than we did. Would have been nice to pull it out but I was proud of our players.
-
^ Cuz they had to justify why they'd kept him on the roster this long if they were just going to cut him when it came time for him to actually play!
-
Huh? "might have done better?" Better decision making, clean crisp passes, better pocket presence, better movement outside the pocket..... I'm not saying he's the next Peyton Manning, but with Painter it would have been 6-42, if that....
-
Yes, We need to lose. After we've locked up the #1 pick we can win all you want.
WIN WIN WIN Then worry about the draft....
-
Coaches and GMs get stuck on their choices because to change mid-season seems like admitting they were wrong. My guess is the QB coach has been telling them all season that they think Dan's a better fit and they couldn't admit they had made a mistake. Cuz Dan looked better to me in the preseason, even.
-
agreed^ Also, he seemed to have much better pocket presence. Better movement outside the pocket
-
Of course, maybe the QB coach has been saying all along that Dan was better and Jim Caldwell or Polian just didn't listen..
-
hee hee! Wondering if a qb coach should be fired this season if he couldn't tell that Dan was the better QB.....
-
I know Painter started out pretty good the first two games, then sucked. Will Dan do the same? Who thinks we might have won at least 1-2 of those close games like last week if the coaching staff had gotten their heads out of their butts and put Dan in sooner?!
-
Of course Painter started pretty good too...
-
Looks like we could have won at least 1-2 of the close games if they had pulled Painter sooner.

Help me out if you find a link. I need something to cheer me up!
-
I think so but my memory is iffy! looking for it on youtube.....
-
I think even more priceless than the time the ref told Belicheck to pick up the flag he'd thrown down. Anybody remember that? I can't remember the context off hand but I thought it was the funniest thing ever. He was SO ticked....
-
your keyboard to God's ears.....
-
I can't. Gotta watch at least the first quarter. Just like I couldn't turn off the tv when the colts were down to Tampa Bay, I keep hoping for miracles.....
-
rotfl All I want for Christmas is........

meh. really doesn't help my mood
So Who Thinks We Might Have Won 1-2 If They'd Pulled Painter Sooner?

I saw WAY to much rejoicing over every hit, every sack, every stop to say they were bored. Find another argument.
