  1. Bethea is gone. Sometimes you regress at a position. It's the nature of the beast. We have invested enough cap percentage in the secondary at this point. We're going to be looking to fill the position cheap. (No more than 5 million annually.)

It's not about Bethea its about replacing him glad ur not a gm no reason to regress unless u have cap issues, u have the money spend it key to the offseason is to get better at every position.
  2. No.

He's going to want 10 million a year.

we just paid Davis 9 and let Bethea walk for 6 million to the 49ers we need a good safety and at this point Byrd is the best one left we won't find a good safety in the Draft.
  3. Well duh...... as long as there's a #87 on the Colts roster named Reggie Wayne; no WR brought in will be a #1

Reggie is coming back from injury with one year left on his contract and about to be 35yrs old I would hope we are not looking to pick up a #2 wr in FA with how deep that position is in this year's draft
  4. I would be all in for the next two years. There are 4 key areas we need to upgrade in FA , FS,CB,DE,C. I would love to see us pick up Byrd,Hardy,Davis, and Mack, I would even look at getting a guy like Verner or Grimes across from Davis. I'd cut Toler he cant help us win the SB if you he can't stay healthy maybe even pick up a guy like MJD to a cheap contract or one year deal but the key to the 2014 offseason is this years draft. If I were GM I would make 3 trades in this years draft by trading away my 2015 1st,2nd and 3rd maybe even 4th round pick to pick up a 2014 draft pick in the 2nd ,3rd and 4th round this year which would give us 2 2nd rd pick 2 3rd round picks and 2 4th round picks and a 6th which would be 7 picks and taking a good look at the latest mock draft although they are subject to change we could pick up some really good players at areas of need but I'm just wishing..

  5. Yes there is a need for a WR but not a pressing need. Depth is needed at every position and WR is one of the front runners in need of some depth added. I feel that Brazill and Whalen are backups at best and I don't agree with most opinions that they are proven. We need to remember Luck can make an average WR look great. We need to stop bringing in replacement players at WR and bring in someone who has real talent that can learn from Reggie before he retires. I think we should take a lesson from this past season and not put ourself back in the same situation in 2014. For instance god forbed if TY goes down then what, no one else can duplicate what TY can do and Reggie wouldn't be the same without TY.

  6. We don't even have the cap space to do it unless said WR is on his rookie contract. And while on earth would anyone in their right mind trade a top flight WR on their rookie contract for a 2nd round pick? (besides the Browns, obviously).

You would be suprised what some teams will do, one thing I do know is in the NFL never say never!

  7. We don't have a WR on our roster who can pick up were reggie went down. At this point in time all options are open with the Colts on their bye week. It makes no sense to bring a player up from the PS just to have to pay him more money for the bye so that could be an option for us after this weekend which explains why no moves have been made yet. I for one hope we pull a trade because a trade puts us in the best position to reach our goals this season. Just think about it, Luck can only be as good as his WRs.The running game is struggling and the oline is still having issue's and we have been leaning heavily on our defense not to mention the defensive unit was 95% healthy going into the bye. A trade now will set us up for the future, we have money for FA this offseason, but who will be available in this years draft at WR in the second or third round thats better then who we could possibly trade for now? I dont care if we don't have any draft picks this off season if this move truly strengthen our team for a deep playoff run. If you take a much deeper look at our WR core only Hilton and Brazill have any playoff experance. Plus I dont feel that DHB can handle the presure he will see with Wayne not being on the field. If Whalen or Rogers were the answer they would have already had a roster spot at least over Brazill. A trade just might be the only option if we want to be anything more then just one and done come playoff's. Our FO talks a lot about dynasties and normally they are built through the draft but when your trading for young players still in their rookie contract its not that much of a diffence then a great draft. I stand behind the Colts no matter what they do but I see this as a great opportunity to help our offense reach the next level, every elite QB has a elite WR.

  8. Sorry i don't believe Richardson is a upgrade.  Untill he starts averaging the yards that Ballard and Bradshaw did.  And doesn't just run into the line instead of going around them.  I hope he turns out to be what we wanted him to be.  But So far other then like 3 runs.  He hasn't done a thing.  And when Brown comes in and can get the yards he does against the same def.  Doesn't make me think TRICH is the answer.

When you start a new job how long does it take you to master your craft everyone is intitled to their own opinon but let be fair here, you could have all the talent you need for instants to simplify this if you have been a cook at McDonalds for five years and you change jobs to go work at Hardees do you really think your just going to pick up everything immediately no its going to take some time. Different menu, different burgers, different procedures. The same translation can be said in this situation. This offensive scheme is very complex and a lot of us need to be a bit more realistic with our expectations, Brown and Ballard both had mini camp, ota and training camp and Bradshaw is a 6yr vet. Trent will get better as the season continues and he will end strong late in the season as he stops thinking and start playing..

Well I may be wrong but from my research the Colts will be in great shape next offseason with more money this offseason then 2013, around 40 to 46 million and thats after we resign the players we want, please someone help me out with this never been good at math. I know this isn't 100% accurate just estamation but looks like another fun 2014 offseason!!

  10. I understand that many seem to identify personally with Grigson and Pagano so they have more than the usual stake into the team but I'm still not on board with this move. It's not going to help win now. Running backs were not the reason the Colts lost the last game despite the rhetoric around here. Still going to lose to SF. Play calling is still going to be crap. For long stretches they seem to not be able to get into the right plays. Can't depend on Luck to be lucky winning so many close games. Just like last week, the law of averages is bound to show up. The defense can't get off the field.

I don't believe in Grigson, I think he's a good ole boy hire that's going to fall on his face. FYI, mediocre to me is being an average team with no shot to win the Superbowl. That's like most of the teams in the league. Luck is going to take a few years before he becomes elite, if he becomes elite. I'd love to be proven wrong but I'm not seeing it. Luck better throw to Reggie Wayne. He needs to be well fed. In the end, the results are going to be seen on the field.

Well buddy you are entitled to your own opinon, but you just sound like a hater if you ask me, you have no real facts to back up anything you have said. I suppose you believed in Polian and have not gotten over the fact that he is gone or maybe you just hate trades. What ever your own personally reason is for not liking Grigson is I'm happy to say we have a GM that is willing to do anything to improve this team. Its so hilarious when people or fans would rather set their hopes and expectations low to simply prevent a let down because thats what it sounds like to me. Further more you as well as many others have no real understanding of the true value of a strong QB, RB, WR combination and what that can do for an offense. You just don't get it and for the life of me, I can't understand how it can elude you but hey some only see what they choose to see. You say the law of averages is bound to show up like this is some long drawn out math problem so lets look at how pairing a back like Richardson with Luck is a good thing.

    1.Better pass protection.

    2.3rd and 4th downs situations.

3.Defenses will have to play man or put 8 in the box.

    4.Goal line situations.

    5.Play action

I mean I can do this all day long lets not forget Richardson had like 51 pass receptions last year as a rookie and besides Bradshaw who at this time can't carried the load on his own, who else before this trade do you trust to carry the ball, plus its not fair to Luck or his development not to give him the pieces needed to succeed. Miami did a good job of taking Reggie away last week, but a player like Richardson will force man to man coverage on the outside which will make TY and Reggie's job much easier. My final thought from your post is for you to please go back to the Miami game and watch the final play, you can blame it on play calling if you choose but the bottom line is Brown missed his block thus Luck is sacked game over. The one and only thing we agree on is the results are going to be seen on the field maybe not so much this week, but having a guy in the backfield like Richardson will have a big effect come December. I'll just stop there cause I was about to get into your comment on Luck being elite but I think I've covered enough for now.. Simply CUM ON MAN!!! Just say your a Bronco fan..

  11. Well the way I see it Irsay tweeting about a possible trade can't really hurt the colts rather then just letting all 32 know we are interested in a trade, I can't understand why we need to be so secretive about a trade. I just hope we go after somebody worth it. I'm one of those crazy fans that believe in the use of a strong running game and understand what that could do for our offense and for Luck. Truthfully if we can maintain a good average of YPC throughout  the season it will mean less presure on Luck and an effective use of play action and opens up our passing attack. Last year teams didn't have to focus much time on our running game hopefully thats something that has changed this year.  There are a few names of guys I would love to see use persue, but I dont want to get ahead of myself, so I plan to just set back and see how everything unfolds..

  12. From what I saw yesterday its not so much what Pryor did but more of what we didn't do. Time after time our OLB were horrible at setting the edge Werner Walden and Mathis over pursued play after play. Every big play that came from the raiders made come do to us not setting the edge and if we don't get that fixed it's going to be a hard season

  13. Honestly I understand we have a lot of 4-3 talent on our roster but just my opinion I'm extremely glad were in the 3-4, I feel like it will make a big difference in the long run, think about it ravens, steelers, 49ers, texans, all run 3-4 and have good to really good defenses, I know you can make the case for the 4-3 and all but give it time I think it will work out better especially with pagano as head coach!

I agree 100% this D will sneak up on teams this year if we can stay healthy. It will be a real treat to watch them play and grow together this year!!
