My guess is that Ballard is more than willing to draft Chubb at #3, so he doesn't need to be aggressive in looking to trade back. He can just sit back & watch the offers roll in (and they will). In the end, I think someone makes him an offer that he can't refuse.

I'm telling you, my gut says the Browns will take Barkley and the Giants will take Chubb. It's gonna happen
This wouldn't shock me. And if it happens, it won't be a question of "do we trade back?" It'll be who makes us an offer we can't refuse?

I'd say he probably regrets expecting integrity or honesty from anyone associated with the Pats organization. Because deep down, he knew better...

Not only is it not a rivalry anymore, I don't think it ever will be again. Yeah, some of us fans may always keep a little Pats hatred. But as long as Luck's health gets straightened out, in a couple years the Colts will be good again, and by that time, BB & Brady will be gone & the Pats may suck. We need to look at the currently improving teams in our division as rivals, & leave New England alone. Yes, they've had an amazing run, but pretty soon they'll be just another football team.

Be Doug Pederson?

I think if you fire Chuck, then you need to fire Chud too. I really thought he'd be better than Pep, but he hasn't been.
Philbin for interim HC, & Schott for interim OC.

Sure, as long as that city was Bloomington, or Lafayette, or Ft. Wayne, or Terre Haute, or Crawfordsville, or ......

Obviously the bye is no guarantee. We've all seen that. But a bye means you were one of the two best teams in your conference that season. It means you win one home game & you're in the conference championship game. I'd say it's kind of a big deal.

I know we already have one older RB on the roster, but what about Williams? He's been productive backing up Bell, I wonder what it would cost to bring him in? Sorry if already discussed.
-
I think it should be better, largely because I think they'll do a better job of stopping the run on 1st & 2nd down, putting teams in more obvious passing situations.
-
For me, it's not really about any one pick. I think I'm most excited about our new GM, and the process, preparation, and patience in his overall approach.

I watched the play a few times, & the only feasible explanation is that Toler had Jalen Strong on his fantasy team.

I don't think there's any doubt it was a bad call, but it was also a bad pass. Easy to blame the OC here, but I don't think RW deserves a free pass either. I've seen that same play executed for touchdowns by a few other teams, and they all had one thing in common- the throw was low. The QB knew he was throwing low, and the WR knew he'd have to go down to get it. Usually with slot guys like Welker, Edelman, etc., and they basically roll into the end zone. (JMO)

Roethlesberger didn't win a SB his rookie year. I think Steelers may have gone 15-1, but didn't win SB.

I guess it depends on the metric?
-- Yards per game?
-- Points per game?
What's the standard?
But the answer is....... Yes, we could.
I'm just not ready to say yes, we will.
I agree. I do think they could be a top 10 scoring defense, even a top 10 fantasy defense, but yards? Doubt it.

I still think Luck gets $25 million/year (total, including bonuses), and his contract could go as high as 8 years, $200 million, $100 million guaranteed.
-
I think Hilton's contract will be impacted more by Johnson, Moncrief, Dorsett, Carter and Luck than by Bryant and Thomas. TY ended last season not only as the Colts' best receiver, but as really their only good one, and Luck's only reliable target.
If Grigson's moves pay off (meaning Johnson stays healthy & productive, Moncrief takes a step forward, and Dorsett and Carter begin to live up to their potential), then the perception of TY will be much different at the end of this season than at the end of last season.
I know that's a lot of ifs, but hey, it's the off-season.

The Colts aren't as good as New England, Seattle, Dallas, or Green Bay
I'll agree about NE, GB & Seattle (so far), but they're better than Dallas. And Denver.

Ok, JMO.
Andrew Luck
Vontae Davis
Robert Mathis
Pat MacAfee
Frank Gore

The one I dream about is the 2011 class.
Round 1
We took: Anthony Castonzo
Could have had: Muhammad Wilkerson, Cameron Jordan, Bruce Carter.
I really like Castonzo, so I'm happy with this pick.
Round 3
We took: Drake Nevis
Could have had: Akeem Dent, Joe Barksdale, Sione Fua, Da'Norris Searcy, Clint Boling, Sam Acho, Jordan Cameron, Cecil Shorts
Nevis was decent in our 4-3 defense, but look at the talent we could have taken instead!
So we could have had both Cameron Jordan and Jordan Cameron on the same team? That would have been awesome!

I'll say it gets dropped to zero or 1 game at most. As much as I dislike the Pats, and think they look at rules as mere obstacles, "More probable than not" might be enough to punish the team through fines & picks, but I don't think it quite cuts it in regards to suspending a player.
-
huh? Not sure you're thinking of the right timeline.
You're right. I had the wrong 4th & 2. Was thinking about the 2003 reg season Pats game. (Think it was actually 4th & 1.)
-
In b4 Pats fan says 4th and 2.
That's the one in my opinion. Get that touchdown, both teams end up 13-3, Colts get tiebreaker, & 1st Colts/Pats AFCCG is in Indy. Could have changed everything.
-
I want to see Frank Gore up the middle for 5 yards on 1st down, and Frank Gore off-tackle for 2 yards on 3rd and 1. I already know they can do all the other stuff.
Might the Colts be waiting to pounce on other teams' cuts to come?

I know the Colts have Mack & may also draft a RB fairly early. But CJ Anderson is 27, rushed for over 1,000 yards last year with no QB, has 3 lost fumbles in 5 years, and may be getting cut by the Broncos. Ballard should have seen enough of this guy to have a feel for whether or not he's worth bringing in. Not a stud, but probably better than any veteran RB currently on the roster.
