  1. We really need to keep sharp objects from some of you guys....free agency hasn't even started yet..some big flashy names have been signed, but look at what Ballard did last year.  He did not go out and spend a ton of money and found Hankins, Sheard, and Simon.  All of which were very solid additions.  We do this again and hit in the draft and everything will be trending upwards.  If Luck truly is healthy, I would actually like our chances of even knocking on the door of the playoffs if not getting in.  R E L A X

Why would Cleveland take Barkley at 1, and then trade up to 3 with us to get a QB?

There is 0 chance we take a QB at 3. 0. That would be an expensive trade up for something they could sit still and get.

I digress...there have been a couple of reports that more than 1 team wants to trade up to 3 and pick Josh Allen if he is available. Lets assume that is who the Browns want, then they may have to jump up to 3 and swap picks with us to assure they get their man.  This proposed trade might be a little steep, but I do think realistically Browns may want to trade up to 3 (they have lots of ammunition to do this) to assure they get the QB they want.

    like it

this is what i came up with

    round 1- Bradley chubb DE

    round 2- nick chubb RB

    round 3- DJ chark WR

    round 4- Isaiah wynn OG

    round 5- alex cappa OT

    round 6- jayln holmes DE

    round 7- greg stroman CB

I don't think this is feasible.  Isiah Wynn has is in several mocks in the 1st round.  DJ Chark is listed as a 2nd round guy and just had a great combine. Jayln Holmes is a 3rd round projection. Greg Stroman is a 4-5th round projection.  This would be quite the haul, but other than your first two picks and Cappa, I dont think any of them will be available in the round you listed.

Its actually less money to spend than anticipated, as all of the sites tracking team caps (sportrac, overthecap, etc) were projecting the cap would raise to 178M. So as far as those sites are concerned (and all of the calculations we have been using based on those sites) we just lost 1M in cap space. Our cap space was listed as 73.5M just this afternoon, and has since been updated to 72.7M

So the previous number was based on those projections...didn’t know that

I think Scales would be very good to be honest.  I didn't go with Vander Esch because I personally see him going before our 2nd pick.  I just went with some good young guys in FA, and Simon as our SAM.

After the combine you could be right on Vander Esch...I could see him sneaking into the 1st round.  I would love to get Scales in the 3rd though.  I think my dream right now is Chubb, Will Hernandez, E. St. Brown or Lerenzo Carter, and Tegray Scales in rounds 1-4..I would be ecstatic...just my opinion though.

I feel safe saying Reich offense must have a TE that he can split out opposite the trips formation.
A guy that can win in man to man. IMO Doyle, nor Swope are that.
And they will want a Quality in-line TE blocker. Again, as of today, not the guys.
We have very few guys that will be here in 2019-2020.

Doyle is a pretty decent blocker and as far as splitting out, that’s what Swoope is made for. I’d also think about Ross Travis, he played the last couple games and was always out wide as a TE....TE is not a spot I’m worried about. Just my opinion

Looks pretty good. I like the break down. Good job.

my only comment really is that I don't think Ballard will take us that close to the salary cap limit. .5 million under the cap gives us very little for an emergency should we need to churn the roster for injuries what not.  My guess is that we'll finish somewhere between 10-15 million under the cap at the most.

Yea, I’d say forget Eifert and you’d save 5 million there...I am okay with a Doyle/ Swoope combo

I'd like a RB in free agency and another in the draft.

Hill is very much on my radar along with a number of other backs.

Superman has found a guy on the NYG... a bigger back with a strange name that's also on my radar.

Then, I hope we use our 4th round pick on another back.   Along with Turbin and Jones and then we'd have a nice stable of backs to work with...
