  1. We have noone on our roster that would be able to fill in if we benched/cut both McGlynn and Satele -- Grigs has done a great job building this team so far -- obviously the injury to Donald Thomas was a big one and I am sure we will be addressing our OL problems this offseason (it may not be all that difficult, if the staff thinks Holmes is developing well at C and if it looks like D thomas will come back fully healthy).

DHB should not be cut -- he has had his drops, but again we have nobody on our current roster that could fill in if we got rid of both DHB and Reed.  I am all for giving Rogers a shot to come up and axe Reed (I think Brazzill is just as good, if not better returner and a better WR).  However, I am not at practice and do not know how Rogers has been developing, if he knows the full playbook, etc. etc....

This week and last week have shown that the loss of Reggie has had a major impact to our offense -- however, I think Pagano is a very good coach and we will make the right adjustments to move forward.

We still have a solid lead in our division, and Tennessee just lost to the Jags -- we still hold our own fate and we will be sitting in a very good spot if we win Thursday.

Remember, Luck has never lost 2 consecutive games -- I don't expect that trend to start now.   Our players and staff are solid enough that we will fix things a bit and go out and execute on Thursday.

We are in a bad division, the one strong rival team that has any real talent on it is having a horrible year. We should win the division by default and make it to the playoffs. One and done is not what I look forward to every year.

As for DHB, I still feel today he doesn't deserve to be on the team any longer, it's time to elevate or bring in something else for a look, he just can't catch and it's not going to suddenly get better. What is the benefit of having a guy that knows the play book yet can't catch the ball when it comes to the right spot?

As for Reed, he is a return guy and little upside past that. He is replacable by any aspect of the word of plug and play. His terrible judgment of coming out when he shouldn't over and over shouldn't even be a difficult choice to move on from.

At the very least, coach should sit these guys and let any one of the other guys start at the former spot but will the "players coach" be able to pull that trigger? It appears as though he can't and thats why I say he seems soft, little accountability. At least I can understand the somewhat handicapped choices from replacing bad olineman, they are tougher to swap out.

  2. To me it just does no good to freak out

It is what it is.  Nothing good about this game

What constitutes freaking out? Pointing out that DHB can't catch and doesn't contribute? Now should I have been consistent from the game one like many others questioning how bad he was instead of looking at his body of work on the colts? 9 games in and it's the misses he has when the ball hits his hands that has me saying enough is enough. He isnt a starter and I can barely qualify him as a reserve with the hands he brings to work. Its not like it's fixable things like running wrong routes, it's that his trade, his tools, they are nogood. I can't stress enough that its not a reaction to this game alone.
  3. Why does everyone think that Rogers can help this team right away?

There's a reason he's on the practice squad, and that reason is: HE'S NOT READY!

He will not help this team if they call him up.

I for one am not calling for darick but I'm calling for a change from DHB for sure.
  4. and what's the reason DHB is on the roster? he can't catch the ball. and the guy is a veteran wr...

its clearly becuase he knows the playbook, sure he can't catch the plays drawn up but lets not that stop him from being "the guy".

I don't understand how anyone can defend DHB at this point in the season. He is a tall fast strong guy who can't catch the ball. If he was a 5th round pick from fhe raiders we picked up in the off season with the same measurables, would this still be a topic?

  5. Oh no DHB is awful, but given how thin we are at WR cutting him now would be problematic for this offense. Brazil and Whalen cannot step and be that second WR right. Now once we get Allen and Wayne back next season and a draft to find a WR he will be gone. Until then his position coach needs to show him game film of Wayne actually catching the ball with his hand and not his freaking body.

Reed really needs to work on his decision making when deciding when to return. His special team coach better be hitting the film as well. I would not mind giving someone else a shot, but who are you going to put out there?

that doesn't even make logical sense. You're saying he sucks but it's better than trying someone else who may or may not suck because nobody else can step into the #2 role? If he drops 3 of 5 balls thrown to him, how can anything else be much worse? What, drops 4 of 5? I hate to even bring up thenname bill bellycheck but that teat made #1's out of discarded players mid season pick ups so it is not out of the realm of possibility to do it but people want to hold on to how you grow players over time. Coaches have to step it up and players have to play better. I just dont see DHB doing it and you are setting up for more drops when thrown to.
  6. I really don't get this guy, we're not asking to make one handed catches jumping 40 inches, can he just please catch a damn slant or one deep ball?

I'd be happy with the one the hit him in the hands or in the numbers. I'm just ready to move on from trying to get something that the Raiders couldn't get from him either, catching the ball. A lot of wasted talent without hands.
  7. I know you're emotional after the whipping.  But I also know you've made a lot of decent posts in the past.  You know we're not going to cut players in the middle of the season for a few bad plays.

And surely you know that Pagano is not 'soft'.  I won't bother to even comment on other ridiculous posts, but I'm hoping you'll settle down and be logical.

    Take a breath.

im actually not to emotional at the time of the posting. I havent called for anyones head this season with bad play and there has been some. If you take the whole year of play this year, DHB has not played well enough to be the number 2 let alone a number 3 or 4. He just cant catch the ball, its really not about just this game, its about his year of non production and you cant trust himto make a catch. TY makes some drops too but I dont call for him to be demoted or cut as hse pulls through far more than he ddoesn't. Trent isn't making big gaines but I don't call for him to be cut. Same could be said for Fleener as well, they have talent and make more plays than not.

As for Pagano, I'm really disappointed in how bad the teams have been prepared the team has looked the last several games. In game decisions have had some head scratching moments but all in all, he is still a young head coach but he needs to show some emotion, if nothing more than for the fan base. I dont think he needs replaced, but he is not the same firey guy from baltimore.

I dont think having an opinion that a few non producing guys is irrational. Will it happen, you never know, I will root for them either way though.

  8. You could say Pagano did a poor job of getting the team ready , but calling for players to be cut is not bright or cool.

BTW... it's ridiculous. I know it sounds like rEdiculous  , but that is a really bad looking spelling error.

yes it was a bad job of getting them ready and like other bosses, when the team does well, the boss gets an atta boy, when they do bad, they get questioned. Calling for guys who are not and have not performed is part of an opinion, part of a message board and if I were in school, you could mark me off on my spelling but I'm not so find fault in other stuff.
  9. Ask yourself why Rogers isn't out there? Because he likely can't contribute any more than DHB. So focusing on the bad is only going to serve to drive people crazy.

We are not going to make a huge change this season. Any changes will be marginal at best. That's really the reality of losing your best WR though.

well for one he isnt out there because he is on the practice squad and two, DHB contributes very little to this team outside of wr blocking and getting the defense back on the field. If DHB contributes nothing but dropped passes, what difference will it make to insert a guy with potential from the practice squad. Should know the playbook and could be a more long term player than DHB. just ask yourself, will DHB get resigned for next years team?
  10. Even if my goal was to start a fight, which it's not because I couldn't care any less about you, you are in fact arguing with me :).

Your dramaqueen "solution" to the DHB problem is just throwing a tantrum for the sake of it. If we had other options we would use them. He's what we have until either Rogers wakes up, or the offseason.

So the obvious, and only, real solution is to take the good with the bad until an alternative presents itself.

if you can find more good withDHB than bad, good luck with that search. I wont be shocked if DHB is out before the end of the season if Pagano can show any stones. This isnt a game of chatity and he isnt the head coach to be everyones friend. DHB is just not a good player and a practice squad guy can't be any worse at this point. If DHB brought anything other than he is fast and big to the table I wouldcsay stay the course but since he is a wr, he kinda has to catch balls and he drops more than he catches but his measurables are nice.
  11. Please lol. That's the most crap you can conjure? I don't watch the game? That I don't follow the team?

Everyone is playing like crap. DHB made a great play, and then made a lousy one. Let's just cut everyone while we are at it. Because there are problems week in and week out that all our players have.

Ok I can see you just want to argue. You are not paying attention. IF this were one game were DHB had a drop that hit him in the hands I would not have an issue, drops happen and you take some bad plays with a bunch of good. His body of work is well documented over this season and with the raiders so its not like omg, he dropped a pass in this game and since we are losing he has to be the scape goat. Its that he hasn't caught balls his whole career so far. Again, I think you just want to entice me into an internet argument, not gonna happen.
  12. Its far from Pagano, Its our interior O Line, Its Andrew Luck throwing some bad passes, its our special teams not showing up...A coach can put whatever gameplan he wants out to his players but if they dont have enough talent to execute then that coach cant do a thing about it

it would be different IF he would hold the players accountable but he isn't. Hitting DHB in the hands so many times with drops 9 of 10 times is rediculous. Do you honestly believe many coaches would leave this Reed in as a kick returner if he keeps getting upended at the 7 yard line costing the team 13 yards? You are just arguing a point to oppose a point I think.
  13. So he makes a tough catch to convert a down, but blows one and then cut him?

Seems legit. Good thing you aren't in any position of power.

you dont follow this team do you? Its far more than one game. Its every game, same problem. CUT HIM
  14. DHB and REED should be cut after this game. DHB hasn't caught balls hitting his hands all season and Reed keeps taking the ball out when he has no reason to and he is nothing special. Satele should not be the starter at center, maybe Mclynn but even then, he is marginal and should not be stRting at RG. You can be sure if there was a tough coach here, these changes would have been made already and you live with those changes but DHB has to get cut.

This is a terrible team that has been fortunate to win games with come backs, its not well coached.

  15. What I don't understand in the scheme of trying to be creative with Trent, what pep said, why do we not run him from the spread? We run him in a bunched up line with mostly 2TE's and/or the FB. He has no room where as we run the spread with Donald and he runs wild through gaps. Trent can catch and run so pep has to get more open with his play calls and formations to get Trent from just running into a pile of people hoping he pops out of the pile. I honestly don't think pep is going to be able to figure out how to use a back in a system unlike his old Stanford olines. He has to be able to adjust to the NFL defenses and a subpar Oline.

  16. You don't know anything about Holmes he hasn't played a game yet they wont give him a chance.

not a positive sign for Holmes considering how bad the guard and center play has been all year. Hope he is just being groomed and built up instead of just not performing where they hoped he would be.
  17. no dude... no fan glasses.

there are always going to be some minor things to argue about so they cancel each other out.  There were 2 huge, game changing, undeniably bad calls against us in that game though and NONE like that for the texans.  argue the AJ catch call all you want but he dropped it.  that call has been consistently made that way for a few years now.  ask Calvin Johnson...

    Agree to disagree I suppose.
  18. A team this young doesn't go 11-5 last year and start 6-2 this year with MEH coaching

Not true. Talent overcomes bad coaching choices at times. I'm not saying they are bad I'm just saying they have made some bad decisions in game and if you can't acknowledge that then you are only looking through rose colored glasses. Young coaches in year 2 and new offensive system with rookie offensive coordinator, its somewhat expected and I'm not calling for his head.

  19. it actually was the correct the call. the receiver must come down with full control of the ball. as the replay showed the ball moved down to his legs before he regained control out of bounds therefor the pass was incomplete and the call was correct.

Maybe in high def it showed up better but I couldn't definitively see that ball move until he was out of bounds and it seemed like the play should have already been over. My point was that call was so very razor close that I felt (by my eyes) it should not have been over turned.

I didn't realize there was a ruling about being able to call the blocked punt call too. We have had some bad refs but they are human and I'm sure that rule book is 1000000 pages deep and it keeps getting tweaked every year, crap is bound to happen. If its the same ref every week then you have to deal with that ref.
