  1. The phrasing of these questions should always be:

At what price would you consider trading for "player X?"

For Josh Gordon, I'd consider giving up a 2019 sixth or a 2020 fifth.

For Khalil Mack, I'd consider giving up whichever of our second rounders comes latest.

To say "No, I would never consider trading for this player at any cost" is a little unrealistic.  These types of players routinely get traded for well above or well below what we consider to be a fair value.  I think one of the greatest traits of Bill Belichick is his willingness to throw out lowball offers.  He seems to hit on at least one every single year.

I'm going to be labeled a homer, but I think we'll put up a lot more point on Jax than most people think.

We'll hopefully beat the ten and zero we put up last year.  I'm not counting on either of those games being a shootout, though.

    Relax.

Even Jacksonville is going to have issues covering that many players at once.

Ha!  The defense gets to field just as many players as the offense.  Ramsey and Bouye can cover TY and Grant, Telvin Smith and Myles Jack can cover Doyle and Ebron, and Tashaun Gipson can cover Mack.  Our offensive firepower is nowhere close to their defensive firepower (but we're getting there).

How can you defend TY, Grant, Doyle, Ebron and Mack all at the same time? One of them is bound to be open.

With two average CBS, two decent LBS, and a mediocre Safety.  I think we're letting Luck's recovery get to our heads a little bit here.

The emergence of players like Khalil Mack and Aaron Donald mean that the interior line is more important than ever.  A quote from the Rob Rang draft analysis posted on here rings true:

I completely agree with your post, but I'm wondering why you used Khalil Mack as an example?  Doesn't he attack the RT on a majority of his snaps?  I don't think he lines up against the LG unless there's trickery involved.

You think Dallas doesn't know all this?

They know all that and they cut him anyway.      Didn't even give him a chance to offer to take a paycut....    which Dez says he wouldn't take if he had been asked.

Dallas has decided that Dez was no longer worth the headaches that he brings....   he went from too much upside and not enough downside to the opposite....    too much downside and not enough upside.

And then he went and turned down 3/21 from a good organization like Baltimore.     That tells the rest of the NFL that he wants more.      Who is offering more now?

    Dez brought this on himself...

Dez still thinks he is good enough to pick his team and they'll offer him the money he wants (what he tried with NYG).  The problem is that he's no longer that good, and NO team is offering him the money he wants.

  7. Wow.  That's some Cam Newton level drama there.

We have to remember, though, that this guy just turned 25.  I think he was only 23 when this play happened.  I'm sure they got in his ear about playing until the whistle.  He didn't "give up" so much as mistakenly think the play was dead.  It was a miracle that the RB escaped that first tackle.

    You may want to punctuate.

Look Tiger, if he was just a cut above average I would be a little more optimistic, but he is not.

An average player for average money would be a good signing for us.  Right now, it’s a below-average spot on our roster.

Can we someday be done with the "Hooker" jokes? It's been over a year....

I certainly hope not.  This Hooker cost us $12.59mil.  Certainly that buys us more than a years' worth of enjoyment.

I feel like this is Ballard these last few days.

I think he's doing a great job, but sometimes I wonder if he's just bringing in these players for a reason other than signing them.  Like he's getting information from them or something.

The defensive rookies will serve Nelson pancakes for breakfast so that he wouldn't pancake them on the field because he already got his share for the day. :)

Ha!  Then they NEED to serve him tea bags, apparently.
