This got him many extra years he might not otherwise been given...
Can't disagree there. He really has been so overrated in the NFL community for years it seems.
Any other coach with his career coaching record would have been relegated to some type of career coordinator or position coach years ago.
-
I doubt Fisher is on Irsay's list if he had one, but man has this guy lucked out being a HC this long without doing much but being a .500 type coach.

I wish I understood why we can't build a D here in Indy.
Offense, no problem, D forget it. I'm sure some will say we had some good ones, but they were usually bad without a lead where they could pin there ears back and get after the QB.
I mean we won that Mia game years back where the D couldn't get off the field even if they were given shotguns to take out the other team.
Didn't we win that one with like 10-15 minutes of TOP on offense??
You want O, come to Indy...D's not sold around these parts.

He definitely saved us this year because sadly the future HOF'r on the other side is done. No knock on him, he's done it forever, but it's time.
I could see Walden walking simply because it's his last contract and teams will see double digit sacks from an edge setter and probably throw some decent cash at him that he won't be able to refuse.
Needless to say we will definitely need multiple OLB's on both sides.
-
Grigs and another of his golden FA's goes bust.
-
If you simply look at it like him (Pags) having 4 or 5 terribly coached games a year which end in losses then it's basically him being bad at his job 25-35% of the time based on 16 games.
You (everyone reading) and I would flat out be fired in a hot minute.

J'ville game is in Indy
Same difference. Simply meant they'll lose to jax needing a win.

I don't see it. Tennessee isn't going to lose to Jax, especially with the way Bortles is playing lately.
My heavens Bortles is bad. The guy plays bad schoolyard ball. I also can't see a scenario where Tenn loses to them unless they lose 3 or 4 of their stars to injury during the game.

In the AFC, you could make a case for the AFC North. No team with double digit wins as of yet and only 2 teams .500 or better along with the only winless team in the NFL. Pitt currently has the best record and I think we could all agree that had Luck played vs. Pitt we had a shot to win that one. But the worst division in the entire NFL by FAR goes to the NFC West and it's not that close. No team as of yet with 10 wins, only one team over .500. In fact, the ENTIRE division has a combined 19 wins! The AFC South by comparison has 25. The AFC North 22.
I'm biased to the south . But I get what you're saying.
Nfc west has essentially 3 teams with no qb so I'll give you that. Afc north only consists of 3 teams because Cleveland is only an nfl team by name nowadays.
I'm probably more annoyed at us sucking in this very winnable division right now so I'm most likely jaded.

They're in the weakest division in the AFC and have been for years.
Pretty sure we're in the weakest division.

Watching NE get there 7th straight first rd bye is just as disgusting.
Off topic, my mistake.

I'd take him and his potential over Allen at this point.

Not if it keeps him around honestly.

Old man Adams is still the best back there.
I love how he gotta for the strip EVERY SINGLE TACKLE he makes and it sometimes pays off.
Great leader as well

Why has it taken 35 lineups for our coach to figure it out is a better question?
-
Absolutely right.
I'm sorry, we have Luck and the teams with QBS named Oz, Savage and a 2nd year option college QB in Tennessee have over taken us.
Twilight zone material.

I picked us to go 10-6 at the start of the year and that could've easily been achieved had we beat Jacks in London and Houston once.
Exactly. That's why I'm not ok with however it plays out. We wasted this season.
And 10-6 isn't that great, but would have been enough. No business being .500 in our div. Houston and Jax should be 4 automatic wins for us this year and we'll probably end up being 1-3 against both combined if we win of course that last jax game.
I get things happen...but we should be better then these bums in our division.
We always hear you have no QB you can't win...well it doesn't apply to us it seems. We have hands down the best QB in the division and will probably end this season above Jax....really???

The loss in Indy to the hapless Texans really hurts more this week than it did last week. Jacksonville showed today they re the most hopeless team in the NFL.
The killer is also we shouldn't even be in this mess. It was our division to have. 10-6 would have pretty much got us the div.
It's not like we're in a division where you need 12-13 wins because of some other great team in your division.
2016 was a total letdown.

i just have one question.....
where the (beep) has this game plan been all year long?
Exactly..as krunk also stayed a couple posts up, they play like this when it isn't as important. Season on the line???Dud, Jets on the road destroyed them...
They just have zero consistency.
Like some have joked about here I would not be surprised one bit if all they need is a win in Jacksonville to get in and they freaking lose.

They did it right. Built a better defense and made sure to focus on the offensive line in both the draft and free agency.
That's why it's a travesty we're in the spot we are.
Grigs and Pags have definitely let us down to put it nicely.

We have to rely on Jacks to beat the Titans LOL and the Texans lose their last 2 and we win out. If that happens I am playing the lottery. We will finish 8-8 again, probably lose to Oakland and beat stinky Jacks. Hard to ever imagine us finishing less than 8-8 with Luck at QB playing all season and that is where we will be, having said that we wont see 11-5's again for a while until we build a better Defense and get a RB who can at least get you 100 Yards 5 or 6 times a season. By the way Irsay probably wont fire Chuck now, so much for that talk. Only good news is, Titans will probably win the Division instead of the Texans which if I had my choice, I would root for them over the Texans. We have the Titans number for some reason so hopefully that carries over to next season. Texans are just a dumpster at QB and got lucky today, they got lucky against us in the game at Houston as well. Brock gets benched for Tom Savage LOL.
Isn't it sad that just a few years ago Tenn was hot garbage with guys like Hasselbeck and Mettenberg/clipboard Jesus at QB and have over taken us now for the division?
They sure rebuilt quicker then we retooled...

That's the game (Titans @ Jaguars) that looks like the toughest to actually see come true. That's why the Chiefs/Titans game was so important today. Chiefs didn't help us at all.
We didn't help us at all. This wishing other teams get you in is garbage talk.

Titans will probably put 30 to 40 on the board next week
Yeah...Jax players I'm sure are thinking about where they're going on vacation the day after.
There's no PRIDE to play for with them. They're terrible and won't be saving our season.

This was one of the rare few times where he had a game plan that actually worked to his strengths.
I fully expect a game plan this week which will look nothing like last week. Wouldn't want to stick with what works.
