I still think Pete of Seattle was on the money with his DBs being so much taller.I think over the next 4 to 5 years most DBs will be 6 foot or bigger due to receivers getting so big.

This is why I love the draft, everyone thinks they know more than the front office. Some guys will pan out, some won't. Including some of the ones people here have tents in their pants over and are PO'ed we passed up.
In Grigson we trust. BTM
I have no doubts Ryan Grigsons 15 years of evaluation of players along with his college and Professional days = more knowledge of where he wants the team headed =s any pick that I wanted.Sure we all have favorites like we have favorite college teams from all over.We all wanted our player to be drafted unfortunately we only had 7 picks and we have how many people on this forum?Total faith in Grigs decisions even if most well all but 1 guy I wanted wasnt drafted by us.Let us just get ready for the season without all this h8 and ridiculous whining of players we wanted.Iam all 179% behind and for the GM of the year.It is like the Superbowl champs .They are the champs til dethroned Grigs is GM of the year until he is beat out.

thank you, some people here think they know who will be a great player and who will be a bad player, while in reality they have no clue, lets wait to actually let our draft picks play! Before we say who is a good and bad pick Agree
Agree except we can have opinion to disagree just not to disrepect like stated.I myself do not like our Khaled pick It is my concern for him being pushed back off the ball into QB that worries me maybe we have plans to use him as backup G and emergency C.
-
I love his pick. Thornton is big strong and can manhandle his opponents. Much better pick than Barrett Jones as some have suggested and is a much better scheme fit for a man blocking scheme. Day 1 starter at RG.
He is a big one on one man from his wrestling days.hes not a rotational man as some have mentioned.Problem is I have heard Grigs say he will not start a rookie O-lineman.Not sure if he will stick to it once he sees hugh manhandle a few big bodies and watch McGlynn on his backside in TC.After being a wrestler the man has to have great hands and feet work

There's our guard.
Never heard of him before. Anyone got anything?
Only know he was a wrestler

I don't have to agree with the bolded; it's a fact of the universe.
As for his arm and hand, I don't know whether it still lingers or not. Nerve damage sometimes gets better, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it settles somewhere shy of normal. I won't speculate as to whether Manning's arm and hand are or ever will be back to "normal." It's like I said, even if it gets no better, his performance last year was sufficient. And I don't believe his arm strength was at fault for the last interception against the Ravens, nor do I think it had anything to do with the cold weather. I think he made a stupid decision, bottom line. And he deserves blame for the loss, for sure, but really, the defense threw the game away in regulation. That's why I can't subscribe to the idea that his play wasn't sufficient.
His arm might get weaker as well, and the Broncos are now on the hook for the next two years. That's their burden to bear at this point. The Colts opted out last offseason. But I think the Broncos' doctors did their due diligence before they exercised the option on the next two years. But honestly, paying $20m/year for a top notch quarterback, assuming his performance doesn't totally fall off a cliff, is par for the course.
I had the same surgery at the same time.Never regained any feeling in lower forarm and hand.It has been nearly 3 years and i see top Doctors and they tell me its permanent.I was told from the first surgery if nerves do not regenerate before 1 year than they will not return.I now am waiting for a neurostimulator implant already had the trial.

I just posted this because he cannot join til late in the year was wondering since its been so long since he played football if he could make the team?
-
I just want to jump in and Ty for your time for giving us this information.Use to be Undecidedfrog and cannot remember who else posted all these numbers.Ty for your time again

Yes, that is what I was referring to as well. He never once said he wouldn't start a rookie O-Lineman.
If we got Warford, Warmack, Cooper, Jones or Fluker do you honestly believe Reitz or McGlynn starts ahead of them?
Grigs played pro O-line he knows it starts there. And I agree all you named are way better but for some reason they really like McGlynn.
-
I know McGlynn was the starter at RG but Reitz is easily a better Guard and I expect him to start if things stay as they are.
When did Grigson say this?

He'll be pushing 32 yrs. old at that point, and I just don't see a restructure in his future with us. More than likely we'll draft his replacement in a couple of yrs. and let him go after that 3rd yr. of his contract.
I agree to keep the team strong you need to draft not over pay,not saying he is not worth it now but in 3 years he might be just a burden.
-
He didn't say that. He was asked which position between CB and O-Line could transition to the pro game easier, and he said CB because there is a lot more happening around the trenches. I think it's safe to say a first or third round G draftee would be expected to beat out Reitz for the RG role.
Reitz is not the starter at Rg McGlynn is and Grigs has said he will not start a rookie on o-line is what i said

Thanks for the video.
Love the size, mobility and ball tracking. Would be glad to get him in camp.
Was going to say the same
really moves feet laterally while tracking the ball for a big man.

My heart dropped for a minute. I thought he got placed on IR. *Wipes forehead*
But take your time McNary, serve your country & make us all proud

I 'liked' your post because you bring up an interesting point and kudos to you for bringing it up.
However, I think it's a bit over-the-top to suggest this is THE reason why DHB signed.
He's coming off a stint with a terrible team. Detroit can't shake their losing ways. They're deep into the Stafford era, have been building around him nicely with all-stars aplenty and still they couldn't get in the dance.
We come off a devastating 2-14 year, tear the team down to the point where we're even firing trainers, start a rebuilding phase and win 11 games to at least get in the post season.
I would say DHB had MANY reasons to pick us, this is just one of them. Having Chuck Norris jr at QB helps too I'm sure.
And DHB has said on Twitter and other interviews every NFL player wants to win the Super Bowl.He wanted to go to a post season team for the shot at the title,he said so himself

I'm coming off Lacy a little bit, but I would take Martin or Spiller in the 1st all day everyday.
Nope and No to a first round Rb life expectancy 6 years NTY

And that's why I want to make sure he stays there or even hits the Practice Squad. Cause if I remember correctly, Gordy (don't know if he's still here) made a few nice plays in that JAX game too. I would like to see more of him hopefully this pre-season
Dont make me jump in here between you 2 In too much pain today but ill take both you young bucks on :)JK Still think a G but Grigs has said he will not start a rookie G if anyone remembers. And again we must remember Grigs played Professionally on the O-line in the NFL

With Walden getting starter pay I doubt a OLBr would start day 1 maybe beat Walden out later in the year.Same as a CB.I think if we go G in 3rd probably will beat out McGlynn even though they like him for some mean streak reason.
-
Same as what I have been wanting an OLBr in 1st and a G in 3rd
-
Neither I myself do not see either 1 staying healthy for more than 5 years.Just my opinion but I strongly believe both will put themselves out of football way earlier than the career expectancy of franchise QBs today. We all have our opinions and I knew RG3 was going to get hurt before the draft and miss games and it happened. They both are going to have to be more selfish with their bodies IMO.

One bad 40 time isn't going to drop a 1st round talent out of the 1st round. There will be teams who will invite him to a private workout and i'm sure they'll have all their questions answered then if they have any doubts.
It is not just 1 run and hes not a burner.Hes a playmaker with great hands, you do not have to be a burner to stretch the field. But i still want an OLBr at 24 just my thought and a G in 3rd.
I admit, This is going to take some time to get adjusted to..
