  1. So what if the guy you think is next on your board is someone likely to be available later in the draft? Do you reach anyway, or wait to get them later?

He might not be the BPA during the round for the position your looking for.If your saying reach for someone because hes on top of 1 understand 1 of your boards. Each position will have its own individual BPA.So you wouldnt reach if someone higher on one of your other boards at a position you need filled was available. And I am sure each is graded by a points scale to decide which of the needs you fill at the time of your pick.If you have multiple needs your not going to reach just take the BPA for the position you need filled. And with multiples you go by the highest points awarded to each person on your multiple boards.

  2. We'd definitely be settling for players with less potential to do amazing things, however, I also feel we'd get better guaranteed value with a trade like this. What if one of those players doesn't fall to us?

Draft top picks does not mean amazing things.Just a better chance to out perform others .We must never forget the busts and injury issues on any player.Just because their projected 1st doesnt mean they will perform. This years scariest player to me is Teo he mentioned with his own mouth he folds under pressure.Wow Wow :woah:   :sigh: why?

  3. Crappy work ethic and character issues. No thanks.

Agree we do not need someone that needs a handler. And with no coverage skills just run stuffer 1 sided coin situational at best player NTY

  5. Just say know to a 6-4 raw safety with insane size, speed, and power who will blow people up in the later rounds? How did drafting big DB's based on potential work for the Seahawks???? SMH...We have 3 Jessie Williams on our roster already, we have 1 good back and 1 good rush linebacker???? And Polian knows nothing about running backs? Why not sign Winston Or Moore on the cheap to instantly upgrade at guard instead of using a 1st rd pick on a guard??

  6. You're not getting that the job of a DE in a 2 gap 3-4 defense that we play, is not to rush the passer. They occupy blockers to allow the LBer's to make the plays. I really don't know how else to explain this but you don't have the right idea of what our 3-4 DE's are supposed to do.

  7. It doesn't really matter what you want to hear. Pagano has already said he wants to run the ball and stop the run. Grigson said he wants to build the best O-line in the NFL when he was 1st hired. The key to a successful team is being strong in the trenches. The Bill Polian way was to build the skill positions and fill the trenches with scrubs and it killed us when the playoffs came around. You may not like it, but Grigson and Pagano vehemently disagree and so do many fans, including myself.

Wouldnt an ex Professional O-line player want the best O-line for his team:)

  8. DE..#1 need??? Redding, Mathews, RJF, Guy, Moala, and Nevis. DE is hardly the #1 need. Guard, rush LBer, are the top 2 needs right now and the rest are arguable, but DE is in pretty good shape right now. I really like Hunt, but I wouldn't draft him in the 1st rd. with him being 26 yrs. old. By the time this guy reaches his 2nd contract it will be time to find his replacement.

Agree on G and OLB as the most immediate needs just do not think there will be a G at 24 worth it so go BPA on OLB I hope.Should be able to get a G in 3rd Grigs has said he doesnt want to start a rookie G.And again I remind everyone Grigs played proffesionally on the O-line he knows O-line talent.

  9. Been wondering why Moore was still out there in FA found this  http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/brandon-moore/injuries/143531?q=brandon-moore

  10. Since we seem to be a fan of the one year "show me contracts" I would LOVE to see us sign Branden Moore from the Jets to one of these..with his talent and experence and at the age of 33 a one year contract would be perfect.

Nobody minus the dolphins have shown Moore any attention which is weird because hes a reliable 16 game starter and solid.

  11. A few thoughts on Griff.....

I'm hoping/expecting that he's improved since Stanford.    He'll have to to make the team.

When Whalen was at Stanford he was great against a zone defense.    Find the soft spot,  the whole,  the seam and get there.  He has very, very good hands.

    But.....

When he played against good man competition,  his ability to get any real separation was not very good.    He could still make the catch,  but the DB would be all over him.    And sometimes, the DB would knock it down, or make the Int, or Andrew would throw it away because Grigg wasn't open.

So,  he's going to have to get better at the NFL level,  because those Corner's will be much better than what he faced in college.

I'm not ruling him out....   but I'm not all that optimistic either.   He's got to improve and show it when it counts....

I noticed him several times in pre season to come back to the ball and take big hits and hold on.His time with Luck and Pep will give him a big bonus to make the team.I myself liked his play so many times a receiver forgets to help the QB out and come back to the ball when QB is in trouble, and we all know Luck was in trouble alot.So Wayne,TY,DHB,Brazill,Whalen, and possibly Napalm for some reason they thought he had alot in him.

  12. I agree with this. I don't care about AP or whoever people want to throw out as an example. Nobody knew AP was going to be AP either when he was drafted. Chances are RB's aren't going to be anything special and late rd. RB's or even UDFA's can turn out to be good players. So like Tknight said and as I have said hundreds of times...no way would I ever use a 1st rd. pick of a RB.

Have to agree with both of you never and i say never draft a RB in first..........those are periods........get it period .................... never...................period.................
