  1. for one the best teams do this to try to ensure a title not rebuild there team, were rebuilding id say in about 2 years at this rate we probably will get some old vets to do just that

Some of the best teams in the league bring in some older vets on shorter less expensive contracts as stop gap solutions. You can't fill every need with young rising stars. Nobody has the money to do it. The Patriots are prime examples of bringing in guys who are past their prime but can still contribute. If it means Ed Reed for a couple years , OK. You will have two solid safeties for the next two seasons. You can then bring in a mid round pick to hopefully learn from them or maybe use a high round pick in a future draft. You can then focus on O line and corner for your young rising star aquisitions.

  2. i do agree with trying to stay as new as possible, but those decent- above average players in the fa are for the most part going to be over paid so even in the fa we have to be careful of what we get, i mean look i hear kruger is going for 40 mil and hes only got 1 good year in him, though i would hope not all do that especially since we do need a pass rusher....but im getting off course here......anyhow i we need to fix the ol and if vets have to do it than so be it and get some young guys behind them and learn from them, at least 1 or 2 would be good

  3. i was looking at some people that might hit free agency and i think they might be able to help us in these areas, Amobi Okoye(CHI), Glenn Dorsey(KC), Spencer Johnson(BUF), i realize some of these guys play in the 4-3 but i think they would be alright in a 3-4 hybrid as well, and as for LB i got Anthony Spencer(DAL), and Connor Barwin(HOU).

So what do you all think, i wasnt trying to pick any really big names out there cuz are GM doesnt spend big money on one player if he knows he can get 3 or 4 for the same price and fill more positions so i limited myself to these guys for starters.

  4. offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton said he expects to use more of a west coast offense next season. "It'll be a variation of the West Coast (with) West Coast principles,'' Hamilton said. "The short, efficient passing game, a high completion rate." Hamilton ran the west coast offense at Stanford with QB Andrew Luck.

Im glad, i could easily see his completion rating go up by about 9% and his sacks and hurries go down considerably i just hope are running game could be as good as it was this year or better (just saying that because it the best its been since 2007 i think)

  5. I agree to a point. He's getting crushed in the pocket. Why wait until desparation time before he starts running with it? That would have been a good option.

true, I understand that but if he ran early all the time they would merely just adjust to that as well and than he wouldn't have any running room either, everything can be countered in football no matter how good you are at it, but I do agree also to the fact that some of his int were unnesscary but he will get better, especially if we can beef up the o-line and get a def that can make him get the ball in his hands some more without that team scoring.....but overall are team is doing well considering all the changes, in the formation on defense and everything else.

  6. First off we don't have a 2nd round pick as of right now, gave that up for V.Davis. Second there are some good FA 3-4 OLB that will hit the market, you might want to google that. Third I really think Freeney will take less money to try an finish his career as a Colt. You say this is similar to the way we let Manning go for Luck but I dont see how you came up with that one maybe you can help me understand cause we wont have a top 15 or 20 pick as it stands right now, plus we had no choice but to go after a QB, we were parting ways with Manning due to health whick made QB our biggest need, I really don't think OLB is our biggest need even with Freeney hitting the market after the season. The truth is Freeney is in the first year of this new scheme. We need to try an resign him to a team friendly deal and get another OLB in FA, we need three good pass rushers and Freeney not been bad this season he just doesnt have the sacks we are use to seeing but he has been very disruptive. BUT the same big weakness of last year still remains CB,SS. Thats were we will be looking to go in the draft, DBs is were our biggest need is, and with Davis our only true CB with Powers hitting the open market and Zib is better then what we have had in the past but he is a good back up at best. You cant rush the passer if the CBs cant cover...

huh i didnt, i said freeney was probably going to leave us so we will probably get a olb, just like we let go of manning so we got a qb......not saying the freeney, manning situation is the same but how we will draft is. for the first round unless if there is good fa olb like you said is going to be there

  7. I say we go CB in the first round and SS in the third, here are a list of first round ccanidates at CB Demarcus milliner,David Amerson,Johnthan Banks and maybe Xavier Rhodes. Only two SS Vaccaro and McDonald. The second round on most mock drafts are loaded with DBs and hey you never know we may trade out of the first round but I would love for us to get any of the CB I just listed even Poyer manilly because we can get an ok CB out of FA as well but SS to me is very important, I would love to see us get Tony Jefferson to me he fits what we are trying to do but time will tell.

Huh we are moe than likely to go OLB since dwight freeney is leaving us, just like we got andrew luck when we let go of manning, only makes sense to go olb and as i know of their isnt a great supply of pass rushers in the fa so you can count that out. and we got zib granted not the greatest but does make it to where it isnt are greatest need.....cb we will probably go 2nd and maybe 4th or 5th but that also depends on if we want to get a O-linemen. so who knows more than likely we will try to fix that in fa since that will be a lil easier than trying to get a good cb

  8. out of the draft: Jarvis Jones, Brandon Jenkins, Sam Montgomery, Barkevious Mingo, Bjoern Werner just to name a few, though to be clear, some of these guys have collegiate eligibility after this year so they could declare for the draft or stay in school

    out of FA: Cliff Avril

As you can see, the number of pass rushers currently scheduled to hit FA is very slim which is why I believe our biggest priority in the draft will be to get a pass rusher.

i agree, and like you said i know most of those will be gone before its are pick or should be unless if the teams are looking in a different direction which i doubt, are highest prospect i see us getting is cj mosley and he might even be gone depending on which teams have a higher draft pick than us.

  9. To add to this, I would say that the Texans have not looked good against excellent QBs... they haven't really played any this season except Manning, Rodgers, and Stafford. They beat Manning by 6 in his third game as a Bronco, Green Bay beat them, and Stafford carved them up, then watched his coach give the game away.... The key to beating the Texans is to get a good game from our QB and finding a way to keep A. Johnson under 100 yds receiving, easier said than done, but Houston isn't capable of doing what NE did to us last week, IMO. They look good, but they are overrated every season, I don't think Houston would be leading any other division in the NFL except maybe the NFC East... just my (biased) opinion

No way we should draft to beat any one team..... makes sense for us to focus on stopping the run in the same div. as Foster, CJ, and MJD, but the rest of the league is very different than our old fashioned, underachieving division...

i agree with you one on this one, and stafford carved them up and as not been the threat he was last year imo, and are division is a run well to get the pass working, as for other teams are based off of good defenses or superior passing, which is why i also say we dont draft to beat the texans we draft to complete the colts

  10. thanks princetontiger77, and as for OLB we could try to get C.J. Mosley in the draft to replace freeney plus last i heard hes leaving us so its not like we are getting rid of him the last i heard, but their could be someone who is dropping into free agency that we might get but i dont know who that would be, and if we do get a olb in free agency id say we get a lt and slide costantzo to rt...get 1 player and benefiting two spots. sounds good to me....but that only if we arent dropping down to far to egt him and passing up somebody else in a position we need too...which is hard with are current situation.
