  1. this is a very hard decision for the fat they have different things they bring to the game, I believe Whalen has better Route running and cathes in traffic better but i also think Brazil is better at beating coverage and has more acceleration and top speed, so i guess it all for what or looking for and what your trying to do to the opposing defense.  i would like to see them both playing sine they both have stepped up and it is giving Luk more targets to throw at no matter who gets the #3 spot.

  2. The OL deserves its share of blame no doubt. But it the same OL that every other back has produced behind. Although the line has been bad there have been plenty of holes he has missed, as well as plenty of opportunities to bounce it outside.  Even though he has been playing well of late Brown was a waste of a 1st round pick as well.  Yes, lets give him another year so he has one year left on his contract and then we can give him a new contract with a bonus that completely nullifies the whole "Cleveland paid his bonus money" advantage we were supposed to be getting.

Can you not see that the fact that by him not producing this year it effectively negates almost all the benefits we supposedly got from the trade, and to justify spending a 1st round pick on him at this point he will have to perform at an elite (top 5) RB level for the next 2 years? Do you think that is going to happen , honestly?  I sure don't see it.

Bottom line is RBs are not worth 1st round picks.  Even if you want to make an argument for AP; Richardson is so far from that, that the comparison would be laughable.

well the trade in itself i can agree with you no running back is worth a 1st round pick unless you know your getting a arian peterson or something cuz other than that they just dont give you what you gave them up for, so that part i can agree with you on and i see how you can see if we get nothig for him that makes the trade even worst, but im not giving up on him unless he doesnt preform and well

  3. am i the only one who notice after that one drop he wasn't target as much for the rest of the game?..what did he have like four more targets after that???....and one of them was an under thrown interception that would have been a td...i hope they get him involved more this game.......5 catches, 90 yards, td...

he was underthrown, they played a smart defensive play and made him look open, and luck didnt see it grant he could of thrown it futher and he could of still got to it but he wsnt underthrown

  4. 1. He has been here long enough to equal the time of coming to training camp, playing all preseason games, and several games into the season.  RBs are picked up off the street all the time who turn in better performances.

    2. See 1 + ... he should easily know playbook by now, if he doesn't he has bigger problems than mediocre play.  At this point hes had the playbook as long as Bradshaw when he started playing games.

    3. Every other RB has ran behind the same line and performed better.

    4. He has no vision and makes poor decisions + can't improvise.

    5. Most NFL level running RBs can make plays at 2nd level ... a 1st round RB should be taking it to the house on a regular basis if he gets to second level.

    6. I believe as others have pointed out that he will probably improve after an offseason/training camp, but he is never going to be the product we thought we were getting.  He will be a decent starting RB who will never justify a 1st round pick and who will only produce for us for 2 years (since he wasted this one) unless we give him a nice big contract.

The thing about this "waiting until next year" thing is that one of the reasons we paid the 1st round pick for him was for production this year.  If we don't get nothing out of him this year than we could have drafted a RB in 2014 in the 2nd - 3rd or lower round and came out ahead both financially and draft pick wise.

We wasted our pick and we are stuck with him now, so I hope he does good.  But, I think most people are going to be very disappointed when we see who was available with our 1st round pick, and Richardson ends up only ever being a "good RB" and never becomes the stud most thought we were getting.

i guess well see, and most of the time tht your talking about him not going nywhere is cuase his o-line just falls apart before he even gets the ball in his hand = no push and them sometimes flling over, you can say brown has been doing quite well but he also was a 1st round pick and has had 4 yrs with us, bout time all i got to say so just give him another year and see what happens

  5. Well, let me take care of that for you. One mediocre game does not a first round RB make. The game was nothing to write home about, and most any RB in the league could have turned in that mediocre performance.  He still ran the ball pathetically and showed no vision; so what if he caught some passes ... that's not what we acquired him for.  In no way does his performance come close to even begin to justify his first round pick.  If he performed at that level the rest of this season, and all of next season he would still only be a run of the mill starting NFL RB.  He will never justify the pick we spent on him.

Since we have so many Richardson supporters like yourself who want to come out of the woodwork to say "I told you so" after such a mediocre performance and stir things up again. I will be sure to make sure I don't miss a chance to point out Richardson's mediocrity and what a waste of a draft pick he is.

I don't get what you wanted ... complain because people were complaining about Richardson, than feel the need to make comments when people aren't complaining.  But, I will oblige you ... I was tired of biting my tongue anyway.

alright and you are right about some of his games, cant deny it, but look at it this way,

    1. came to our team in mid season

    2. doesn't know the playbook

    3. O-line practically collapses it looks like when he runs

    4. does cut to early at time (does need to work on that)

    5. when he gets past the O-line he actually does to something

    6. does need to work on vision a lil bit but i believe that will be worked on during training camp, ota, preseason

and in all seriousness if he does the same next year than youll be right and you can go on ahead and tell me you told me so but til than you have no more than an idea than i do hw well he is going to be

  6. I was just checking some stats and I think we are regressing:

    Points per game:

2012: 22.3 (Tied for 18 in the league)

    2013: 24.1 (16 in the league)

    Third down conversion:

    2012: 98 out of 229  43%  (7 in the league)

    2013: 65 out of 179  36%  (21 in the league)

    Fourth down conversion:

    2012: 7 out of 8  88%  (1 in the league)

    2013: 1 out of 8  12%  (32 in the league)

    First downs per game:

    2012: 22.5 (4 in the league)

    2013: 19.7 (18 in the league)

    Yards per game:

    2012: 362.4 (10 in the league)

    2013: 337.3 (22 in the league)

    Yards per play:

    2012: 5.2 (23 in the league)

    2013: 5.4 (15 in the league)

    ToP per game:

    2012: 30:46 (13 in the league)

    2013: 28:47 (28 in the league)

    Penalties:

    2012: 94 (8 in the league)

2013: 61 (Tied for 3 in the league) 2 games still remaining

I know that we increased points per game and that's the most important stat, but the increase was minimum compared to how much we decreased in other stats. Going from #1 ranked fourth down offense to 32 is just.... wow. Injuries have affected a lot but last years offense was much better.

how was are offense better last year, luck was getting sacked like crazy, was running all over the place tryingt o find receivers, now i know are offense has been skeptical but if we can move the ball around like we did our last game we will be fine and are averages will look much better next year

  7. Really? Instead of enjoying what you supposedly wanted you are going to hit the hornets nest?  I have been and am a vocal Richardson trade hater and have not gone anywhere, but have been trying not to rain on everyone's parade and and rehash the same arguments. However, comments like this make it increasingly difficult.

lol well even with that you still didnt say anything bad about him just saying i hit a empty hornets nest i guess.

  8. I believe if everyone develops properly, we could have a nice receiving core for years to come with Da'Rick Rogers, LaVon Brazill, and T.Y. Hilton

not only that if they stay healthy and do progress properly they will be are receiver core for at least 10 years, wow that would be awesome

  9. Even Avery. He was better last year than DHB has been this year..

i think people are seeing us not preform and want ot point a finger at something instead of are injury report, cuz someone has to be to blame, i dont but just saying, i mean we only have lost are #1, #2 RB, #1 WR, #1 TE, #2 CB, Are LE, or RE(can't remeber which postition Jean-Francois played, so yeah we are suppose to still be explosive even the game was literally wrapped around those players or a huge portion of are playbook was, but you know they have to have someone to blame. lol

  10. yeah, hopefully Rogers keeps up with his progression, he look great out there, i also wish that for Brazil too because  they both preform very well in today's game, and luck throw to at least 9 different targets today which means hes learning to spread around the ball well which is going to make it difficult for the defense to block, and we took some shots down the field including Brazil's 29 yard TD, now lets hope this will give Hilton the chance to start shining with them having to spread out the coverage as well.  Defense isn't doing to bad either with the dent in injuries we are having either.  if are receivers keeps doing what they are doing  we might not have to draft a WR and just fill in some depth with free agency, its a long shot but its worth wishing for, or at least we wont have to draft as high as for one and hope we can make him into something, so we can draft a OG in are 2nd round pick to bolster up are O-line, but i know we do BPA so we will just have to wait and see what available to us when the time comes.

  11. i liked his effort, had good burst of speed from the snap, great separation, caught almost every ball tht went his way, shedded a tackle for his 69 yrd touchdown, he definately gave someone we can rely on and if he keeps it up i can see him being are number 1 easily, now lets also hope that brazil can keep doing what hes done this game as well and we wont even have t draft a wr this year just in free agency for depth, vet experince, whihc would be nice, doubtful but nice.

  12. wow we lose and you throw are team to the dogs? really guys, Bengals for one are one of the best defensive teams out there so it not like they only tore us up they hurt a lot of other teams to, almost all yer they have, plus even though we lost we saw that Brazil and Rogers can get free, and catch the ball so that's 2 more targets he can throw too and Luck throw to 9 different receivers which means defenses cant only shut down one receiver they have to block everyone constantly which means taking shot down the field will be easier, and defense did struggle a little bit but all there receivers are like 6'4" or taller so it not like they are small or anything, we need to keep faith in are team, and are team will come together. GO COLTS!!!

  13. i believe this guy will stay on ST this year for a couple of reason

    1. we dont know what he will bring on the field

    2. if we want him to be a pass rusher have him do it during trainging camp and OTA's that way coaches and are veterans can work with him more before the season when the games count.

    3. he says hes still learning, which means he needs more time to learn his role if he were put onto the defense and woud probably make a lot of bad mistakes.

i like the idea and i wish the best for him but him being on ST will build up his confidence and well see what happens next year with this guy.  GO COLTS!!!

  14. Maybe, but as GM you have to account for the fact that there might be injuries.  Especially with a guy like Ahmad Bradshaw who's not known for consistently making it through the season.

I'll give him a D for the draft.  Werner hasn't showed anything.  Thorton is the best pick thus far and at best he's been solid.  No one else has seen the field much.

I'll give him a B- for free agency.  The players he signed where doing good, but a lot of them got injured, although to be fair they had histories of being injured.  Bradshaw and Toler come to mind.

Getting DHB as our WR2 really hurt us this season, but it's only a 1 year deal so the damage is just limited to this season.  If he fixes it this next off season then we are fine.

On the other hand Walden and Landry have been solid.  Cherilus have proved his worth.  I would really like to see him not only fix some of our problems with our starting roster, but work on some depth this next offseason.  It's going to really tick me off if we don't sign or draft a top end receiver.  We need to start putting some long term weapons around Luck besides TY Hilton and the twin Tight Ends.  Reggie Wayne only has next year left on his contract.

i definately agree with you on a top end receiver cuz i would like hi to get mentored by  reggie, plus im hoping rogers can fill in #2 or #1 WR after reggie leaves to keep hilton in slot cuz i think he does best there

  15. I say "F".

Had tons of money to spend and it's hard to say any of the FA's have made a big impact.

Also, this last draft makes me pine for Chris Polian to step into the war room!

Finally, 'The trade' looks disasterous at this point.  We're going to be singing the blues on Day 1 of the draft when Cleveland makes our pick.

your grading him way to hard, imo, for one we had a ton fo holes and i mean a ton, granted are o-line isnt great but it is better than it was, not counting saturday but he left as soon as manning did, we got Cory Redding, Jean-Francois, T.Y., granted are draft wasnt that great but it was almost impossible to compare it to the one we did when we got Luck, plus are differnce actually can get it done and before him are team was lucky to stop much of anyone cept for the year we won the SB, so im giving him a B, he deserves it with all the chnges he mad and not knowing if it would of worked or have the chemsitry we have it could of been a whole lot worse.
