An excerpt from an Indy Star article written by Doyel, who had apparently become very close to Tyler.....
Tyler had an internship with the Colts this past summer, something in analytics on the business side, and he worked there for a day or two before the cancer made it impossible. He had to resign his internship. Broke his heart. Colts general manager Chris Ballard was devastated for Tyler, so he stopped by his house, hoping to cheer him up. And then Ballard kept coming back. He visited every week until Tyler died. Ballard doesn’t know I know that.

I have noticed how winded the Texans defense gets when we run hurry-up (no huddle) offense.
Interesting that you mentioned this. I noticed that JJ Watt was VERY winded last time and many times he was taking those huge breaths with his hands on this hips. The only reason I noticed it is because the cameras were mostly on him.....
great observation

TY better ice that ankle and take care of it all week. It’s obvious he wasn’t full speed last night, but still offered enough in terms of opening up the field for everyone else.
He’s gonna be crucial Saturday.
i wouldn't expect a ton out of him Saturday. I think Frank will game plan accordingly... if he runs a ton of long routes, he is just going to be worse for the wear and finding separation could prove to be difficult..... the Colts have other options and yes, Ty is a texans killer...but those other options are there and if anyone can figure it out, it will be Frank. More Cox, more Inman, more no-names. Inman is 6'3" and could prove to be invaluable Saturday. Or as Al Michaels called him on one occasion, "Illman".

i think we will get a delayed diagnosis on his injury due to the holiday.... has anyone heard if the MRI results were actual received yet? Must be a major top secret. I know Reich doesn't like to give anything up to the competition, that may play into it as well.

Browns - "Hello, is this Chris Ballard? Oh, good. Congrats on making the playoffs. This is the Cleveland Browns calling and we'd like to interview Coach Eberflus for our HC position."
Ballard - "NO" - Hangs up phone
Ballard's phone is on permanent forward, all calls go to Josh McDaniel's cell phone, until draft day.

I thought it was just a knee bruise. Looked like he banged it on someone on the DL.
Yea , that's what i thought too, looked like as he started moving off the field he was specicially grabbing the front of the knee cap..... which could be a deep knee-cap bruise, or it could mean ACL since the ACL runs right through the middle of the knee (behind it).

He did. Ankle but was back in there shortly after I believe. In watching the tape, Hines was walking around the field after the game so at least he's OK.
ok, good, thanks for the report. at least there weren't as many injuries as flags.

That literally his job.
maybe every so often, every blue moon or so, let a play tell some of the story. (Madden, Keith Jackson, and some of the other greats did that).

Did Wilkins get dinged up on a play? Several players did and it'll be interesting to see our black-n-blue report. I know the Titans were hurtin' too.

His job is to talk between plays. Literally. That's what he's there for.
his job is also to know when to start and stop at the right intervals.

i was with people that were cussing at the refs and i've seriously never heard them say a foul word. granted, players made lots of yellow laundry tonight on their own accord, but enough is enough.

He's nothing but a talking head. He says stupid stuff just to hear himself talk. I seriously can't stand the guy
he never shuts up... he's like a wind-toy that never un-winds. he has something planned to say after and during plays and sometimes I just want to watch the game. but he was prepared and he IS a good announcer....just not my style. give me madden every game.

Congratulations to Colt nation!
Got some things to clean up but this team is very capable of making a run!
true, and some players to get healthy!! Hilton on one leg was still pretty good. Colts training staff needs some St. Elmo's this week.

What about all of the Purdue fans that will be there on Saturday? How many will be staying another day to cheer on our Colts?
game is today (friday), not saturday. i know someone there for the Purdue game but they will be leaving back on saturday.

we will be fighting the refs, the road, the pressure but hopefully not the weather. we have a shot to get this done and get to the playoffs. Luck knows he can't play forever. He should be at maximums prime.

What is the over/under on accidental F-bombs?
Maybe they're doing a simulcast on SiriusXM ;)

It's all good....... Mariota is rounding into form. He'll be ready to go and thus the backup QB thing goes away.

That's true. but considering the Colts run D, and if we get Kelly and Glowinski back, we might be the better run team on Sunday.
please make that happen, would-ya, could-ya !!!!

Don't field conditions need to be approved by the NFL?

One thing I hope happens is that if it's obvious TY is not getting separation from Joseph early on (due to his ankle), that we move on from it and go with plan B fairly quickly. The margin for error in this game will be minuscule. If you look at how few play-action opportunities you truly get in a game, every one of them is precious. The run-pass balance is critical and since Houston does lock down the run game very well you get even fewer. And lastly, TY can be a shorter yardage guy too and get us some 3rd down conversions and also be a decoy in those situations as well.
