  1. I think we can get him for 2 yrs. at $2-2.5 per, IMO. He is a 1 yr. insurance policy for Bethea too since Bethea will hit free agency next year.

But yes, the ideal situation would be that a rookie safety drafted in 2013 will pan out within a year.

    Right!

I'd rather draft a kid from the 3rd on who would only run us anywhere from $1 mill & change on down to $450ish thousand this year.

  2.

This means that the Colts have about 10M left. The original figures are based on Paul's numbers and the ESPN numbers.

You know, you could've simply provided the links to the information in your original post and avoided all of the questions/rigmarole. I appreciate you probably wanted to come off sage'acious but really, folks have to ask for it? Just give folks the info.

  3. No we definitely don't and I'd have no problem bringing in a stud MLB.  I wasn't completely sold on Angerer as our MLB in the tampa 2 so I'm not even close to sold on him as the MIKE in our hybrid.  I would have loved to have gotten Donte Hightower last year but I knew there was no way he'd last to our 2nd round pick and even if he did, wasn't sure if they'd have taken him.

I would love to see a ticker come across NFL network saying "Colts Trade MLB Angerer to Cowboys for MLB Sean Lee"

  4. Interesting thought. Maybe the Ravens would have given up something to get him back, assuming Reed leaves. But I still doubt it. There are better safeties that will be available still in a week or so, and the Ravens need all the picks they can get right now.

    Yeah, you're probably right.

I guess it is more about a professional courtesy. It's probably easier for him to get a new job now than it would be during camp. Especially if he was part of final cuts. Kind of hard to stand out among 703 others.

    Again, yeah. :)

  5. It doesn't hurt to shop him first. Let's be honest. Worst case, you get nothing.

I don't think it opens up for Reed to come here, but Pollard it would.

I don't think I want any parts of Pollard. How many teams in how many seasons? The word is he is a locker-room cancer/complainer/divider.

  6. There's no trade market for Zbikowski.

No, I meant instead of trading him to the Ravens (assuming Grigs & Newsome have spoken about him and they're wanting him back...if Reed leaves) they just decided to cut him outright. More as professional courtesy....since they (Ravens) let him come with Pagano. Just thinking out loud.

He didn't perform anywhere near as well as most hoped he would (still was better than Aaron Francisco and David Caldwell). I don't think we should have cut him yet. We probably should have waited for camp and seen if he could have picked it up a bit, but it was always likely that he would be gone before opening day.

Right. And I thought so when we added Landry. I would've maybe kept him around if for anything, to help set the tone & acclimate the new additions and rookies to how Pagano does things. Hmgh....goes to show what I know.

  7. Thomas did not play football until he got to college. He is probably the best athlete we have in the line and maybe the quickest and fastest OL we have had. He bounced around I believe due to his lack of experience. In New Endland last year he seemed to develop with sound coaching. He can play either guard position as well as center. I expect that he will supplant Reitz at left guard.

IMO he's a great addition. I think he bounced around because he suffered a Lisfranc injury his rookie year after being drafted by a bassackward organization, forever in turnover/rebuilding mode. That resulted in his drifting with the current until he was both healed AND landed with an organization that knows what it is doing. And in turn, he had a solid outing with the Patriots* and came up on Grigson's radar (probably again).

  8. Wow. I am surprised.

Zib came to help Pagano get things established. And you cut him the next year before he even has a chance to compete at Training Camp....?

...unless Grigs has already spoken to Newsome and they want to bring him back to the Ravens. So we just cut him outright instead of trading. Hmgh.

  9. The last good player to add is a RB that is a Good pass blocker, a bad man running, and good catching the ball.

For two years at $5M per, I give you the Great Steven Jackson. Stay away boo birds, you have no idea.

I`m telling you Sundays could get So Fun so Fast!

I mean I would not have a problem with it....if I wasn't so concerned with him staying healthy. Hamilton definitely wants to run the rock. MAYBE we go there in the draft.

  10. Hmmm, I'm not sure what I think of this right now, I think pass rusher would still be my preference at #24. That being said I know very little about Killeen at this point, and Hughes knows this season is it for him, hopefully he produces.

I think Training Camp is going to have some very interesting battles in defense.

I still think we will have quite a bit of OLB rotation similar to the Ravens, based on different skillsets.

Hey, you won't find me complaining if we grab another pressure guy at 24. I am very excited about this coming season. There are 11 guys on defense and we've added at least four new starters counting Chapman's return...possibly 7.
