    This isn't hard.....

    Andrew Luck

    Vonte Davis

    TY Hilton

    Anthony Castanzo

    Robert Mathis

    Eric Walden

    Mike Adams

    Dwight Lowery

    Jarrell Freeman

    Adam Vinatierri

    Pat McAfee

    I can go on.....

But I think you're mixing up "over paying" with some players who "under performed"....

    There's a difference....

I was making a joke why I type lol,

But since we on the topic , I guess the market dictates player prices but out of that list let see who has under performed

    Walden

    Mathis

    Castanzo

But we don't have to go over grigson moves overall he wasn't good at drafting, free agents signing or retaining out own.

If Doyle is offered 8/yr you shake his hand and thank him for his service. You'll also see a GM change on that new team shortly because that would be an unwarranted amount. You have offered up hyperbole in 2 separate posts here now for Doyle. His contract is going to be closer to 5 than it will be towards 8. I suppose we will see who is right soon. For Doyle's sake, I hope he gets 8, for the Colts sake, I hope it's 5. I hope he stays but I have zero doubts that we will absolutely  move on if he wants more than 6

Yup can't have guy making that much when we have holes all over

Ingram is looking for a big contract, so I'm not sure that we'll win the bidding war. I know just because he wants that much doesn't mean he'll get it, but somebody is going to overpay him.

Colts could be a possible landing spot for LB Melvin Ingram. Ingram is reportedly asking for Olivier Vernon money (5 yers, $85M)

We can all agree that we need major help at the LB spot regardless.

    I'll have to pass

I think he would be good at linebacker but if you move that opens up the hole in the back field for safety which is already in need . But it would be interesting

It's doesn't matter if his depth chart position say Lb or ss or fs . You could still move him wear ever you need him. In theory if green turns in the player he has potential to be we could run a 3-3-5 defensive with Clayton being that close to the line cover te guy etc...

Falcons did it for years so did the Panthers. We beat the Falcons with Matt Hasselbeck at QB in Atlanta in 2015.

What do that have to do with colts, falcons gonna be back to there 10-6 or 9-7 selves, panthers fell apart after one good season

I don't disagree with what you said in this post, I just don't think it's as easy as you're making it out to be when you initially said "RB will come" as if its a given.  It's not a given - but for Frank Gore, we've not drafted or signed a starting caliber RB in years.  The only one that showed any promise, Vick Ballard, couldn't stay healthy.

Ok my logic is that if we improve our oline which we are trying to do we will be able to plug a guy like turbin just saying, and they will have success if the oline is making holes. So that's why I dropped running back on the list of worries for the time being

  7. 2017 60m after Jackson cut

    1. A. Jones take pay cut or cut play Nt

    2. Go after hightower if you strike out eagle mostly gonna cut Kendrick see if you can grab him on a 2 year team friendly deal

    3. See if you can get Ingram or pass rusher

    4. Make a play for t. Johnson or Gilmore

Assuming you get at least 1 or 2 of these players .....next

Yes. Keep or resign our 'average' players, because we do not have a magic wand, and we cannot draft or FA the majority of the D in one year. Every team, including the Pats have average players starting. It's the nature of the NFL.

I agree with your comments but the colts stink at all three drafting, fa, and resigning guys

Really. That extra 1 mill per year will turn around our crumbling D? It won't make a scratch.....

I understand your logic , I'm just under the impression that if Ballard is as good as they we need to get deep on def work with what we have on off luck gonna have to just elevate guys like we have seen great qbs do over the years

  10. I dont care what the depth chart say constanzo is a RT we need to find a way to reduce his salary but looking at hi contract we stuck...........

Ideal what I would like to see happen

    2017                         2018

LT - CONSTANZO       LT - CLARK

LG - MEWHORT       LG - MEWHORT

    C - KELLY.                   C - KELLY

    RG - decastro/zeitler

RT - CLARK                 RT - CONSTANZO

Tell us why we can't afford him again please? If he is a player the Colts think makes us better, I can see no financial reason not to, unless he is being ridiculously greedy.

If he is coming at the rumored 5+ m a year we have to let him walk. We need to use all our resources to improve def and oline. Let's not be greedy and spend starting te money for a luxury position. Unless we cut Allen we have to roll with what we have. I like Doyle but if he is asking for what I think he deserves we have to let him walk. That being said I would love to have him back at 3.5m a season but let's be honest might take closer to 6m no thanks

    You must be joking....

I think part of the reason he had a down year is because we had no pass rush.  He put an absolute blanket over DeAndre Hopkins.  You can't expect the secondary to cover everyone forever and if your pass rush isn't putting pressure on the quarterback, people will get open.  He was on a pretty team-friendly contract; his contract had an average cap hit of around $9 mil a year when other corners around the league have annual cap hits well above that (Joe Haden, $14.4 mil; Richard Sherman, $13.6 mil; Darrelle Revis, $15+ mil)

I agree the only reason I say this is vonte maybe looking for revis type money knowing it's his last big contract. I know how good vonte has bin even with out a pass rush but I was just saying 11-15m annually would be a little to high we would have to let him walk
