  1. Yeah, Our members have really been on top of all the latest training camp news and notes, along with the latest signings and FA moves. I was a lil' skeptical about signing up here after being on mycolts for awhile [and skipping that 'in between board thing-y' :pcsmash: ], but it has definitely been worth it thus far.

Thanks to my fellow Colts fans and for the team that got this forum going! :drinks: :disco: :dancing: :cheers:

  2. Think we'll lose to the Browns at home? Hmm...

That will never happen. Ever. My brother-in-law's from Ohio, and a huge Browns fan..... Never going to happen. :)

    ^^^Mine.

  3. People forget that Coyer said in an article last season (on colts.com, I believe) that he's fine with playing 3 DEs and 1 DT. (Which is basically what we did at times with Freeney, Mathis, and Brock)

The article was about getting Hughes on the field with Freeney & Mathis, so playing Jamaal at DT on occasion shouldn't be too big of a shock.

  4. You should probably stay away from saying things like "Edge was not thought of as a top ten pick." You have no idea where teams had him valued.

Secondly, teaming Edge and Faulk in the backfield was NEVER going to happen. First, the Colts are not a two back team and those NFL teams that do go with 2 backs have a FB as the 2nd back so tell me, who would have been the lead blocker? Having Faulk and Edge together would have been pointless.

I didn't even really try and came up with areas where you were wrong.

Actually we use an H-B some of the time, it's just usually a TE or DT. (for blocking, which I don't get)

Here's a couple two-back teams from the last couple seasons:

    • Jags - Fred Taylor & MJD
    • Panthers - DeAngelo Williams & Jonathon Stewart
    • Titans - LenDale White & Chris Johnson
    • Cowboys - Marion Barber & Felix Jones
    • Dolphins - Ronnie Brown & Ricky Williams
    • Saints - Deuce & Reggie Bush
    • Cardinals - Tim Hightower & Beanie Wells
    • Chargers - LT & Michael Turner (and eventually Sproles)

Yeah, and that's just off the top of my head. :D

I don't really get the whole Edge + Marshall thing, though.

I went to the Colts scrimmage today and saw Polian. He was lamenting about how you won't give him a pass on that decision. Truly a broken man was before me. This is the one thing that keeps him up at night.

You have a better imagination than Sponge Bob Squarepants. You are just being silly at this point.

  5. Polian did not want to give Marshall the big bucks he was demanding and thus he was traded. The Rams made him happy and a SB winner.

Ironically in 95 when the Colts made the only significant playoff run of Faulk's time in Indy he was hurt during the entire playoff run. So in all reality all Faulk did in Indy was put up numbers for a bad team.

In St Louis he put up numbers for a very good team.

Well 1k yards on a 9-7 team isn't the worst record in the world.

  6. They released a top 5 DE's in the game thing.

BTW I'm pretty sure the guy who does the ratings for Madden is a crack smoker.

That's weird cause on SportsNation they released the Top-5 DEs and they didn't list Freeney or Mathis!

  7. He should be first ballot, but he wont be. It took Shannon Sharpe 3 or 4 years to get in, Cris Carter still isn't in, and neither is Sterling Sharpe.

There's actually a pretty big log-jam at WR waiting to get in the Hall, So I would not be shocked if he's inducted a few years before Peyton, or even the same draft class. Especially with the perception the media has created that Manning makes receivers more than they mutually help eachother, let alone make Peyton look good.

    :loco:

  8. DE D Free, J Anderson

    DT Nevis, Harris

    DT Moala, Johnson

    DE Mathis, Hughes, Foster (?)

Looks lovely.... Esp, if DT could provide a push up the middle like the DL in the 06 SB run. If Indy gets play like that out of this team we are going back to the SB.

The depth so far by all reports also is going to be a huge improvement over the last few years.

I am getting geeked over this D....

It's nice to actually see those guys in a bit of a depth chart format. This should be a good year for us.

  9. I was actually more excited about this guy than any of our other draft picks. Dude looks like he should of been born in a blue jersey.

Even if he doesn't start, doesn't mean he can't have starter's minutes. But, we will have to wait and see the preseason games.. If he really stands out like it looks like he will, I don't see an issue of swapping Mooke out for Dra'.
