  1. I am upset we had next to nothing in snow in Indiana! I wanted beard freeze walking my dog in shorts! My friends that know me.....weather is not an out....We can jam on Peyton for some bad NE days. I wish my inner Polar Bear could have helped.

I love the cold and played my best in cold weather. I loved the steam off of the helmet. If Peyton plays poorly in bad weather...who cares...others do it every day.

I loves rain, sleet and snow.......loved burying a face mask in the mud. In my mind...bring back the old rules.... Deacon Jones! Jack Lambert. etc...

  2. I think they will miss Saturday and maybe Addai, yes he has been on the decline but he could block, we dont have a running back that can block to my knowledge anyway so far but that may not be a requirement now though but Saturday was a big loss

They miss Saturday and Peyton....I am hoping for Shipley (Believe it or not at center) a true beast at Penn State......
  3. I think we're leaning toward just leaving things as they are. No new forum.

    We have been moving threads

People are beginning to cooperate, which is nice

Set the rules and lock it up Maureen......we will make do. Does that mean Manning in Colts or on the top of General? Remember we are in off season. What happens when the Broncos are 6-3 and we are 1-8? Just thinking ahead......
  4. When it wains it purrs! (Waining cats and dogs??? Get it?)

I think we are getting nutty over weather. Send me an email on any given day and it will be different than the weatherman!!! I studied meteorology when there was not a radar to look at. I look at the clouds. I can tell you within 5 minutes if it is going to 'wain.' An old Keith Whitley song "I'm No stranger to the Rain...." says it all to me.

There are Hall of Fame QBs, and there is now Bronco Peyton Manning. Brady {sic} has hurt his reputation in Artic cold. Playing in Green Bay and Minnesota (when no dome) as well as NE is always a disadvantage.

Call me Stupid....a major snow at 32 degress is FUN to play in...did it. 20 below wind chill off of Erie for the Browns? NE? I am amazed the sissy Tom Brady is so good in the snow....John Deere tractors help the kicking game....is that legal? HA HA! Ask Adam V!!!

  5. Anything that puts this issue to rest is good with me. we can't go on like this for years, and if nothing is done, we will. Just earlier today this all started again here >>> http://forums.colts....ng-sweepstakes/

Immeadiatly it turned to fighting about where the thread should be and spiraled downward from jumpstreet.

Personally I like the idea of a separate section for Peyton discussions. It shows the respect of the Colts fanbase. Whats more important is that we put an end to fighting about where his threads go. I feel if we pin a section at the top of the NFL General many people are going to miss it and mods will be moving threads, editing flames from people whom not-so-kindly remind the OP of their mistake.

If we can have a separate section for high school football (of which a total of 3 people participate), than I see no reason why a clearly posted 'All Things Peyton' section cannot work out for us.

Manning is likely announcing his decision tomorrow morning. We should be ready for the onslaught of threads started.

I really think all ex-Colt info should be at the TOP of NFL General...they are no longer Colts even though we may still love them...or.....Jacob Lacey signed with the Lions today. How about a Jacob Lacey forum?
  6. I must admit Manning's worst games were in terrible conditions in New England. Denver is not New England.

When Tim Tebow went to New England, it was the first time he had played in sub freezing temperatures. I think Denver is still the perfect spot. I was in Denver in January and it was 65 degrees and it felt like 80 with the sun.

Peyton will succeed in Denver in any condition because he will wear down a defense in the thin air. He is in the best shape of his career at 36. Even if he is 90% of throwing motion, the ball will seem to fly faster in Denver. That is what training camp is for.

Other than Indianapolis's cozy 70 degrees indoors.....DEN is a fine landing spot (other than a horrific schedule)

  7. Please thank Larry Coyer for giving us the line-the-corners-up-ten-yards-off-the-line 'Suck For Luck' defense. Just remember with gratitude how on the same day that Miami ( whose fans were certain they'd get Luck ) blew a 15-point lead with 2 minutes left, that Coyer's 'bend-over' defense showed them how it's done. He broke the will of Miami fans, and now look at what they've got to choose from at QB.

Matt Moore and David Garrard (Spell check) Lied your post, and loved the comment Ufansince65!!!! I think we have the same thought processes here.
  8. I wnat a new 'D' scheme too but .....a word of caution..

We're weak on the corner and 'cover 2' hid that...in my mind

..but given your division winners...and the Jets, Chargers and Steelers hitting the skids....

You could be right. What has to happen is the top teams have to not just win but dominate their division.

Bottom line. Can the Colts split with Houston and finish ahead of Tennesse and Jacksonville..??

we were 2-4 in our division last year and we averaged 13 points a game.

Sure they could. that's not farfetched at all.

Coyer's version of the Cover 2 was reduced to 'Cover Nobody,' Bend but don't Win,' and 'Prevent a Victory' defense where corners were 10 yards deep, and linebackers were five yards deep. The corners were not solid by any means, but this lax defense makes corners look worse....not better. Andy Dalton was 17-21 against this horrific version. New Orleans: 62-7 (the third worst if professional football history. The defense was better with Mike Murphy....there was more attack, and there was actually a Jacob Lacey sighting that included a pick six. Not arguing...just remembering the debacle formerly know as the Larry Coyer defense.
  9. 6 months.

    six

    long

    months

You had to remind me!! I will be interested in training camp more than ever. This is the most important training camp since 1998 for the franchise, and our young OL needs i!!!
  10. Skip is "clearly" delusional or "clueless" or a case of sour grapes, who knows.

    Skip is just like half of the Bronco fan base......Tebow mania was real, and people all across the nation loved him. I even tuned in to watch, and I think he is not a QB prospect. He does/did win......did Curtis Painter? {sic}
  11. Worse yet was Skip Bayless immeadiatly afterward saying "Of all the teams pursuing Manning, going back to even the Redskins, all of them, the Broncos were by far the worst team".

Arizona did not make the playoffs.

Seattle did not make the playoffs.

Tennessee did not make the playoffs.

Washington did not make the playoffs.

Denver WON a playoff game with Tim Tebow.

    I rest my case.

Poor Skip is a Tebow lover. He is on Mike&Mike for Greeny...I will not repeat some of the things he is saying....Tebow could not survive the extreme Bronco schedule. Peyton will need to be on his game too. Is it football season yet Ruk???
  12. I dont expect it..... Too much change.....

6-10 would be more like it

I predicted 7-9. If the defense attacks like I 'know it will' and Pagano's motivation, the players will exceed expectations. We also have a rookie QB who is better than last years rookies and most succeeded.(Cam Newton was off the charts good and Dalton was 'solid.') I said the first time I saw Luck at the line of scrimmage he reminded me of 18.
  13. Our O-line has been subpar for a few years, but Peyton's quick release has helped

Excellent point!! I have continuously said 85% of Peyton Manning is still better than 90-95% of the NFL QBs, The mastery of the line of scrimmage and as you say "his quick release" keep him safe.
  14. Wheeler is nothing more than a special teams player and can be replaced, Tamme on the other hand showed he can play and would be a big loss. Tamme takes priority. I cant see Tamme asking for a huge contract. Hopefully hes resigned

I have to disagree on Wheeler. In a creative blitz package this kid will succeed. May be a little small in the 3/4 but I like the speed.
  15. Anything that puts this issue to rest is good with me. we can't go on like this for years, and if nothing is done, we will. Just earlier today this all started again here >>> http://forums.colts....ng-sweepstakes/

I do not like skunks, but for some reason you are wearing on me.....BEWARE of skunks,,,,warm weather....tons of skunks......might want to change your name RUK!!!!
