  1. I'm just making it very clear that, as someone who has followed the entirety of McNabb's career fairly closely and was somewhat of a fan of Shanahan's Denver teams as well, I consider McNabb's claims as they pertain to Griffin to be mostly baseless and so biased as to not even warrant serious consideration. It might not be fair to cast aspersions upon his character but if he's going to be so persistent about doing the same regarding the entire Redskins organization I'm not going to be particularly inclined to hold back :) The system was different (but not a lot by NFL standards) and the talent level was considerably different at the time (year one of a drastic rebuild). That's just what you have to expect when you change teams, though. Fortunately, RGIII will inherit a notably improved team and he won't be learning a system that is any more foreign to him than any other NFL caliber offense. Obviously we're all agreed that time will tell. I'm not a fan at all of what the Broncos did last season offensively. They probably shouldn't have made the playoffs but they were in an improbably weak division and their defense just happened to play so well as to give the offense a chance to win it for the 5-6 minutes per game where Tebow was actually effective. To me, that season was a fluke not entirely unlike the Seahawks' 7-9 playoff run. Obviously John Elway agreed on some level.

I know they were lucky to make the playoffs. They won games because of the defense and running the ball. They ran the ball so well because they changed things to suit Tebow's skills which obviously are not passing.

  2. The Shanahans do adapt their playcalling to suit the man lining up behind center. There were clear differences in the way our offense was executed between McNabb, Grossman, and Beck. The core principles and philosophy of the offense remained relatively the same but for those to change you have to have a guy around who you know is worth keeping and adapting to. A player who doesn't put in the work during the week and blames others for his own failings is not worth keeping in your back pocket.

McNabb is just doing what he has done throughout his career in that he is shirking blame off of himself with doublespeak. He has a demonstrable knack for saying the right things publicly despite a very different picture being painted behind the scenes.

I just wanted to note that the Broncos changed there whole offense around last year for Tim Tebow and look how that worked out. They ended up winning a playoff game. Does anyone really believe they were going to keep him as there qb of the future? I guess some franchises switch things up to compliment the skills of whoever there qb happens to be at the time. McNabb may not have been there future but you think they could of done more to compliment the guy's talents. Tebow was, IMO, clearly not the Broncos franchise qb, but they did what they had to do to win games.

note. If anyone tries to say Tebow is a good qb I will laugh my butt off...Ha ha ha.

  3. I watched this today. I kinda see both sides of it. Mcnabb definitely took the time to let everyone know how he feels about Shanahan. You could tell he is just bitter and holding a grudge I'm sure. He did imply that it was not RG3's ego though. I think that the pair of them, McNabb and Shanahan just did not end up working well together. They don't like each other and thats it. Oh well, I still think RG3 will be fine. Not worried about him one bit. Unless we play him and then I hope for out D to really be a lot better.

  4. Those are the ones that like Fleener so much I think, but I like your idea in the second and third round

Yeah from what I hear a lot of people don't think Fleener will be there anyway. I don't watch a lot of college football. I start looking into these guys around this time of year so can anyone tell me what is so great about Fleener?

  5. Sounds about right, lots of great corners should still be available in the 3rd. I was thinking this team would pick up a NT in free agency, but then again there is only so much money to be spent on FA. Before any of the FA signings I thought C/NT would be addressed in the 2nd, CB in the 3rd,and possibly followed by TE in the 4th.

i thought we would get one in FA too. Guess we are too poor this year,.... I think we have to get one, 2nd round made sense to me, some say 3rd. I don't care as long as we get both areas addressed. I know we can't fix everything this year, but we can do our best. TE's are not too great a class this year so I don't get why so many people are saying TE 2nd round.

  6. I will be glad when the draft is over so we can stop trying to figure out who will go where! lol. IMO I think it's going to be 1st pick, Luck of course. 2nd pick, NT, 3rd pick CB, then 4 and 5 can be WR/TE.

  7. Ill call the scheme.....Just Tackle Somebody for Cryin Out Loud

Wouldn't that be nice! I guess in training camp this year they will have to go back over all the fundamentals and retrain the guys or something. I can't see Pagano having a team that can't tackle. He will drill it into them somehow.

  8. I find all of this Parcells stuff absolutely ridiculous! I do not think he should be allowed to come in and coach either. I don't understand how Payton would even entertain the thought of an appeal. Really??? How can you be a part of or know about something like this and do that? Do you really think you deserve to be coaching right now? Just goes to show he only cares because he got caught. How heartless, IMO.

The more I think about this and see things/read things,...I'm convinced he had something to do with it. He may not have started it or ran the thing, I bet he put money in it though. I wonder how these players and coaches would feel if they were on the other side of this? How would they feel down the road if it was there son on the receiving end? Did they ever stop and think, hey this is wrong?

I just do not get how people can do things like this. I guess I will never understand it. I just want to see good, physical, fair football. No crap like this! Play for the love of the game not for the love of money. I am not a Packers fan and I am not a big fan of things Brett Favre did. One thing I always loved about him though was he just loved to play football! You could tell he just loved the game and enjoyed being on the field.

  9. My understanding was that Sean was involved in the emails discussing the bounty system, so he must have known even beyond being warned.

I heard something about that too. They said he got an email from someone saying put me down for however much money on whoever it was. Don't remember the amount or player. I think it is possible for him to not have known everything, but I don't think there is anyway possible for him to not have known anything. I don't feel sorry for him at all either. I think they all got what they deserved. As for the players who were involved it just disappoints me. They all disappoint me really. I hope they all learn from this and feel guilty for it. I guess I would like to see some real remorse. Right now I think it's more of them being sorry they got caught.

  10. FA NT's cost too much, not the long term answer, and they all want multiple year contracts. I strongly fill they will grab a NT in round 2 to start, whether he is ready of not, and then grab one much later as a backup. We are rebuilding so develop some young NT's now instead of just playing a FA that definitely wont play for us for more than one year at most. Grab a TE and CB in rounds 3 and 4 and a WR after that. Next year, grab a smokin WR in the 1st with a top 10 pick, etc. based on talent.

I am hoping this is how it goes!....The draft does not have much in the TE dept this year if I am not mistaken so I would rather go NT 2nd round.
