However, does the punishment fit the crime when star QBs like Big Ben and DeShaun Watson get 4 games or half a season for the seriousness of what they did? I don't know, just thinking out loud. :dunno:

While I get what you're saying, and yes, what they did was heinous, it doesn't potentially affect the outcome of games as they transpire on the field.

And I'm specifically not referring to their absence from suspensions being a direct influence on game outcomes, I'm speaking specifically to a potential fix, or intentionally undermining the outcome and integrity of the results of games.

They (Rodgers and Berry) got exactly what they deserved.

I think it’ll depend. Many said he wouldn’t draft a QB at 3…

And he didn't. He drafted a QB at 4... :peek:

I think if we're drafting somewhere in the top five again, I would almost guarantee that Ballard will turn that into multiple picks in the first two, or three, rounds.

He kinda painted himself into a corner in having to draft a QB that high this year. He won't have to do that next draft.

Now they are saying Levi's has been looking bad. I definitely think we made the right choice, but it's crazy how much energy some fans across the board put into hating Levi's. The dude is a rookie so mistakes should be expected early on.

Yeah, I'm hearing it's been everything from bad accuracy, dropped snaps and throwing into triple coverage.

You all may have discussed it and I missed it. I was reading the Athletic. Former GM/player personnel guy Randy Muller seems to have a problem with the Colts selecting Richardson. He implies (I got the impression) in an article on the Athletic that Ballard and Steichen were not on board with the pick and that it was Irsay that forced them to make that pick. He writes that he feels bad for Chris Ballard, as he believes he was forced to make this pick.

Did some of you get the same impression when watching the Colts draft room. I don't remember getting the same impression.

I kind of liked that the Colts draft room didn't do that nonsense. I'd say ever since they've let cameras in team's draft rooms, 90% of those celebrations we see are put on for our benefit, or for show period. I doubt there was nearly the amount of celebrating that we see now before cameras were allowed in.

I feel like he should just start day 1. If he is supposed to be the future, then why waste time with Minshew?

I think Minshew is here to get the rest of the offense on the same page with Steichen's scheme as smoothly and quickly as possible.

There is more than just Richardson to consider here.

Having the vets understanding and executing Steichen's offense will only help Richardson more when he gets his chance.

Something to be aware of is college QB usually have a dip in accuracy their first year in the nfl. So him being only 53% in college could mean he is really bad the first year. Hopefully Steichen can have better schemes then Florida did so it at least isn’t worse then that 53%. He will have better weapons too.

I'm hopeful because Richardson is coming to a better coaching situation. The coaching structure of Florida's offense made no sense, quite frankly.

He could have stayed in college to get more experience, but I think he would've had to have gone into the transfer portal to a better situation than what is in place at Florida right now.

In a weird way it may have been his best option, in spite of many opinions to the contrary, to come to the NFL and end up in the right situation. In my opinion, that's exactly what happened by him coming to Indy and our staff.
