The first down play calls have been unimaginative and brutal

Can we just change the rest of our schedule to away games?

A lot of people were declaring Mac Jones to be good after his rookie season because yes, he had a good rookie season. I wanted to see what he would do in year 2 before I went that far with it. Year 2 he fizzled, now he is plain bad.
Jones has unfortunately had his development trajectory greatly influenced by an absolutely dysfunctional coaching staff in New England.
It's a shame. He should be a lot better than what he is right now.
It reminds me of Alex Smith's time with the Niners.

According to my sources, the reason McDaniels was fired was because his wife wouldn't let Mark Davis use their bathroom.

Thank God! I was worried we weren't going to address the box safety issue on our practice squad!

I have watched almost every Colts games since 1984 and since Sunday I was trying to think when we got cheated worse. I can't, that is how bad Sunday was. We have had games against the Steelers and Pats that have had questionable Reffing, but I have never encountered anything like I witnessed Sunday at the end of that game.
Imagine had that been a playoff game? That is a scary thought.
To this day, if I think about the January 1996 AFC Championship Game against Pittsburgh long enough, I still angry about it.
Stewart should've been penalized for catching the ball after running out of the back of the end zone but instead the damn refs gave them the touchdown...
Excuse me, I have to go and punch something now...

I loved the way Steichen tore into the refs regarding those late flags. Contrast that to how Reich would have reacted.

I've got Moss and Taylor to hand the ball off to and Minshew as my QB.
I would probably try to balance my offense more than 55 pass attempts to 17 runs - 2 of which were by Minshew.
And the score wasn't completely the reason for that. We were chucking it early and often.
Get a few deep down the field to get some of the defenders out of the box for crying out loud...

I hope his arm gets back to 100%. It's a nice ability to just effortlessly flick a ball 70 yards.

I wouldn't give anything higher than a 4th rounder.
But I'm not the GM, so...

Wow no designation for smith. Great news. Freeland will play LT.
Donald must be salivating...

He's probably not on the hot seat yet, but I'm glad we didn't hire Sean Payton...

Learning to block for a mobile QB eill take some time. When you have a pocket passer you always know where they will be.
Well, last year they always knew he'd be on his back...

But I don’t expect the Colts to be bad enough to draft Harrison. Nor do I see Ballard trading up to take Harrison who is projected to be a top-5 pick, maybe even top-3.
I'm not even certain Ballard would draft him even if MHJr were there for him to pick.

I want Minshew signed to more than just this season!

A win would be great, but I mostly just want to see a Colts team looking like they knew they were playing a game today - unlike under Reich, when they consistently looked unprepared.

As for Steichen specifically, honestly, I’m a little bit torn. He was my choice to be hired as our HC. I think he’s the right guy for this job. But as interviews go, he’s beyond awful. I find him painful to listen to. Not that he’d ever admit it, but I believe he hates doing interviews. His mind plays a bit of a game with each question. How can I answer this question in as few words as possible? He’s not comfortable answering questions. I believe he only sees more downside than upside so he tries to say as little as humanly possible.
I actually find that refreshing in contrast to an owner that probably runs his mouth too much.

I'm wondering exactly how that would go down with MHJr.
All the stars could align and he would fall right into our laps in the draft - and then Ballard wants to take someone else, or trade down.
And then Jim overrules him right there in the draft room and tells him to take MHJr...

I know it's still a work in progress, but looking at this roster from top to bottom, I may be adjusting my hopes of a 5-7 win season to more like 3-5 wins.
I don't know what the plans are at WR right now and I'm also not feeling real good about the defensive secondary.

You can't have a natural grass field in a dome stadium - unless you live in Arizona or other state down south where you can grow grass naturally all year round.
You actually can. European soccer/football stadiums, because of their roofing completely covering the stands, don't get adequate sunlight and they have been utilizing a type of 'sun lamp' that gives the grass the 'sunlight' it needs to flourish. I'm kinda surprised stadiums in the U.S. haven't used the same technology.
But the problem with Lucas Oil Stadium would be drainage from watering the grass, so we still wouldn't be able to use that technology.

To address this, I believe we'll sign another WR...
