  1. Yeah, Gates not being a first ballot Hall of Famer is mind blowing. Maybe, the NBA will show him the respect he deserves and vote him into their Hall of Fame, being he played basketball in college, not football.
  2. How about DK Metcalf? Of all the names listed, I’m not sure any of them could contribute at a high level longer than Metcalf. Metcalf has the body type and physique to be a #1 WR unto his mid 30’s. I’m not sure if Seattle’s willing to part ways with him or what their plans are moving on from Pete Carrol’s retirement, but a franchise restructuring could be a real possibility and a fire sale could mean all players are available whether discounted or to the highest bidder.
  3. Caleb Williams was inconsistent, especially against quality teams, and didn’t show he can make plays in big game moments. Maye, unfortunately, has the curse of being the NFL prototype QB from North Carolina. Besides superstition, he played in a very average ACC and wasn’t even the best QB in his conference, FSU’s Travis was. Nix could go either way, but having a pro style offense and a above average accuracy and arm strength, along with mobility, he should have a slight edge transitioning and succeeding in the NFL, where QB’s don’t have the time to struggle or develop anymore. People are already calling for Bryce Young’s job in Carolina. Remember when Peyton Manning went 3-13 and broke the NFL record for INT’s in his rookie season. We’d never known he would become a Hall of Famer if he played today, because these young, developing qb’s receive unrelentless pressure and are expected to be franchise changing saviors their first couple of seasons, instead of allowing them to commit all their mental focus to their play on the field and building camaraderie with their teammates and communities. McCarthy reminds me a lot of AJ McCarron. A solid backup that won’t lose or win the game for you, but can keep you in it by not trying to do too much or turning the ball over. Michael Pennix Jr, a good college QB, but size and skillset aren’t NFL applicable. Forgive me, but, I can’t think of any other potential day 1 or day 2 QB’s. I feel like I’m forgetting a few and one of the higher draft projected. I’m sure there is going to be some great players that end up coming from this class, but for me, only 2, really stick out as NFL ready and the ceiling only should get higher, for Marvin Harrison Jr and John Alt. I don’t think you can pass up Harrison at 1 and possibly have Alt on the board at 9. That would bring in 2 solid starters, with the possibility of being franchise level talents from day 1.
  4. Name 5 High level Bear QB’s in Franchise history. Fields has shown he is capable of winning games with his legs alone. Take the obvious Franchise player in Harrison Jr. and trade back in the draft with the ninth. Maybe draft McCarthy or depending on Raiders drafting a qb, trade for O Connell, as Fields backup.
  5. Keep Fields and draft Harrison and trade back in draft with the 9th pick. This draft outside of Harrison and Alt, appears to be absent of many Franchise level players to build either an offense or defense around. I don’t see any QB, other than possibly Nix as Franchise, likely even, starting caliber NFL QB’s when their rookie contract expires. Stick with Fields, considering he’s been as promising a QB for Bears since Cutler and McMahon. Fields is a Top 10 Bears all time qb and he hasn’t reached his potential. (Sounds impressive but he knocked out Rex grossman to get in the 10😂) The Bears don’t necessarily have the luxury to replace a QB like Fields with a questionable QB class, especially if they were to take another top North Carolina QB prospect. Harrison Jr should be the Bears pick at 1. Trade pick 9 either for a quality starter at position of need, or back in days 1 and 2 of this draft to add potential starters or solid contributors with adding more depth. Moore, along with Harrison, and an emerging top 10 NFL TE in Cole Kmet, and the Bears offense should be much more capable of helping Fields downfield, not using legs to get there, and take pressure off the defense to keep them in every game. Fields was playing well at the end of the season when he returned from his injury, drafting Harrison and sticking with Fields, in winning 2-3 more games this season and would be 2-3 more if not for the Lions and their plethora of young Uber talented players and a Jordan Love led Packers squad in their division.
  6. Josh Reynolds, if he hits the open market, would be someone the Colts might want to try to sign. He’s a similar WR as Downs and McKenzie, having a slight edge over Downs for 3rd WR. (assuming the Colts sign Pittman to a multi year deal or franchise tag him for next season) This would add another slot level playmaker and depth to WR list while the chance to select a top CB and solid defensive linemen in first 2 rounds and potential top 5 RB in this draft, allowing Moss to walk, in the 3rd. Then sign Moore and Blackmon to cap friendly multi year deals and let Stewart(it pains me to say this) and Lewis hit the market. With day 3 picks hit on a couple key contributors on either side of the ball and a solid special teams player or 2 and the Colts would be in position to sign a few decent one year veterans, preferably from winning franchises, for depth issues and leadership and they would be more flexible offensively and fixing the d’s coverage issues and more depth and staying healthy, would be cap realistic and responsible moves to a playoff caliber roster, with oozing potential from almost every level on both sides.
