  1. From the Athletic: As one of the most athletic safeties in the draft, Scott wowed evaluators at the combine with the best times in the shuttle and three-cone in his position group. He also ran a 4.45 in the 40 and put up 22 bench-press reps at 225 pounds. In his last two years at Cal, Scott had 12 passes defensed with six interceptions, three forced fumbles and 207 tackles. A tough hitter, Scott was a team captain and will find a way to become an asset for a team right away, probably on special teams. At Cal, Scott logged 661 special teams snaps.
  2. ESPN Scott got better every year. Special teams ace. “Scott matches up well with tight ends and bigger slot receivers. He tracks the ball and flashes the ability to pluck it out of the air. He's effective playing close to the line of scrimmage, closes well filing the alley and chases with good effort, but he's an inconsistent finisher who missed too many tackles in 2022. Scott has the potential to develop into a valuable special teams' contributor. --“ Steve Muench
  3. He was played out of position on the outside quite a bit at Northwestern. I think the Colts will move him back inside. Led Northwestern the last 2 seasons in sacks and forced fumbles, and had a very good Senior Bowl week. He was also on Bruce Feldman’ “Freak List”
  4. With four 5th round picks we might see Ballard jump back into the 4th round.
  5. Agree with you, but I have seen him bypass some really good football players in the past for players with high end athletic scores. In the past. This draft is very solid top to bottom so far. The Colts got better this weekend.
  6. Really glad to see Ballard not trying to be too clever reaching for “Hidden Gems” in this draft. Top to bottom so far these are not just high end athletes, bit very good / high production football players.
  7. Everyone across the board had him at either #1 or #2 -best remaining players in the draft. Ballard is crushing this draft.
  8. ESPN-Kiper: Josh Downs is a great selection by the Colts, and he'll be an easy outlet for Anthony Richardson. Indy got him at No. 79, but I had him at No. 50. He's one of the best slot receivers in the class.
  9. From Bleacher Report: “Brents is an ideal fit in Gus Bradley's system. His tarantula-like length and stickiness are perfect for a scheme inspired by the old Legion of Boom scheme. Furthermore, Ballard drafts yet another prospect with an elite athletic profile. Brents posted the fourth-best relative athletic score for a cornerback of the last 36 years“
  10. On Saturday the Colts have : Two high 4th round pick-the 4th and 8th picks 4 total 5th round picks - 2 of those are high picks the 4th and 7th 2 7th round selection. plenty of picks to move up if need be. Ballard did good here. Go Colts.
  11. Hyatt is a burner but he is overrated - hit or miss prospect.
  12. RSP Scouting projects him as a Hunter Renfrow comp/ comparison with excellent short area explosion and technique
  13. From Walter Football: Indianapolis Colts: Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina - A Grade The Colts lost Parris Campbell, so it makes sense that they'd go after a slot receiver. He's a talented player who easily could have gone off the board a round earlier than this. I'm a big fan of this selection.
  14. From the Sporting News: 44. Indianapolis Colts (from Falcons): Julius Brents, CB, Kansas State Grade: A The Colts had a critical need in outside coverage after trading Stephon Gilmore to the Cowboys. Brents is another big corner in this class with a good blend of physicality and explosiveness in this class.
  15. Ballard killing it right now. Excellent player and picked up a 4th and a 5th tonight Surprise - Brent’s RAS is 9.99
  16. Unfortunately, I think we will watch the Steelers grab him at 32
  17. There is going to be some excellent talent available at 35 Porter,, Branch, Ringo in the secondary TE’ Mayer and Laporta basically the entire Guard class Colts will have some very good options
  18. I want one of the beat reporters to ask Ballard what the plan was if Richardson was gone by #4. Also, hard to imagine the team drafting Richardson without the Steichen hire.
  19. Well said, I agree. All the top guards are still on the board. Wr’s are getting thin, Very deep TE class this year.
  20. Overall, I think most everyone is Happy/Relieved the colts finally have their first high draft selection at QB since Luck- with high potential. The off-season just became more fun and interesting for sure.
  21. Yeah, best wishes to him - in addition the Colts would receive a 3rd pick
  22. Receivers will benefit as well. linebackers have to honor his feet and Cornerbacks have to account for the deep threat. Colts receivers were swallowed up by 8 man boxes in short and intermediate routes last season.
  23. If the Colts do not go CB at #35 , I hope they draft Richardson’s teammate Torrence- if he is still there
