I have Sanders and McManus in a couple of leagues tonight. That INT was unfortunate last drive but at least it looks like Siemian likes Sanders.

Sanders is a monster. You can tell he really lays it all on the line when he plays. He rarely gets the dropsies, too. I'd take him on a team over Thomas any day.

  2. Denver has driven deep on every possession so far. The offense looks like it might actually have a pulse this year. The backs are running with purpose and duck season is over. (No sign of the dropsies, either.)

Siemian has a pretty solid arm... he rifled one right in there on that drive.

  3. Depending on how terrible Sanchez plays, Denver's season might be a lost cause before it begins.

If Sanchez pretty much blows the first 5 games and it's painfully obvious he's holding the team back, throw the kid in. Trial by fire. Give Sanchez a chance, but don't stick with him all year and throw the season if he's going to flat out suck. Who knows? Maybe a change in venue will light a fire under Sanchez.

If that D is anywhere near the level it was last season they might be able to carry any QB and offense all the way again. Regardless of how inept the offensive unit plays.

  4. Probably, yes. Regardless of Denver's next QB, I think Peyton came to grips with the fact he's nowhere near the level he's accustomed to playing. He always said when he didn't feel like he could contribute at an elite/very high level that he would retire.

He only played at a very high level once or twice in the past year and a half. Prime example being that Green Bay game. Elite/very high level of play had become the exception instead of the norm. If anything, he was often a detriment (along with the rest of the offense aside from Sanders) with costly INT's and poor throws that kept other teams in games that should have been blowouts, or at least well put away. A large blame goes on drops, garbage blocking and Kubiak's system, but Peyton deserves plenty of the blame, too.

That being said, he's still a better option for DEN than all of these free agents apart from maybe Fitz. He should unretire and sign for vet min while riding that D to three more championships, but I doubt he would.

  5. Great decision by Ware and the Broncos.

As for that...."offense" Denver is best off rolling the dice in the draft and selecting pretty much nothing but offensie players starting with the line.  Although I'm not sure if anyone can really find success with Kubiak's system.

He had a few good years of offense with HOU, though. Maybe some actual blocking (run OR pass, at least one of the two) and receivers not dropping half the balls thrown at them will make all the difference. On that note, might want to get a TE/WR as well.

  6. 18 million a year?! BAHAHAHAH!

It doesn't matter who Denver's QB is. The offensive scheme is putrid and receivers periodically can't catch the football to save their lives. They can't pass or run block reliably.  Unless something drastically changes there, they'll suck next year, too.

If the offense is going to blow anyway, should have let Brock walk and convinced Peyton to sign for one more year for vet minimum. Use the cash to resign the entire D and/or get better blockers on the line.

Oh well. It looks like Denver will probably just go as far as that D and special teams can drag that sorry offense again. If the D is anywhere near as good as last season they could repeat no matter how much the offense blows.

, u just have to wonder what we could of surrounded him with if he stayed in Indy

If he had stayed in Indy, our offensive line would have retired him a 2-4 years ago.

Starting in 2006 after the SB  with the retirement of Tarik Glenn our O-line got progressively worse each year to the point we couldn't run or pass block to save our lives. By 2008-2009 it was horrendous. It's better than that now, but not by a whole lot. Even though we still made the SB again in spite of it thanks to how good Peyton used to be.

Denver's was bad this year, but ours has been exponentially worse over the course of the last 4 seasons. He ran for his life for the last 2-3 years before his surgery and made things happen. Something I'm not sure any other QB could do at the time. However, post surgery I've little doubt that line would have gotten him killed.

  8. His skill level declined heavily some time ago. Even though he had a great chance of a third ring with that Denver D, I'm glad he came to the realization he is no longer an asset to the team.  That being said,  I don't think all of the drops, garbage blocking and Kubiak's god awful scheme helped matters.

Still, it was obvious he was missing a LOT of throws he used to make in his sleep.

He said when he no longer feels he can play at a level that helps the team, he'd retire. And so he has.

Hell of a career ol' boy.

  9. Let Brock walk

Resign Noodle Arm for one more year for vet minimum
Use the freed up QB money to resign the entire defense

Ride the coattails of said defense to another championship

Worry about a QB the year after next

I'd say no. People jump on a story real quick nowadays. They were very good, but they weren't an all time great.

They lost to us and the Raiders and needed OT to beat the Browns. An all time great wouldn't have lost to us or the Raiders during the season.

    That's because their OFFENSE. SUCKS.

The defense (and special teams) carried Denver's pathetic offense in every damn game apart from Green Bay. GB was the one game where the O ACTUALLY CONTRIBUTED their share to getting the W. The result was a royal pounding.

If Denver's offense played AVERAGE in every game, Denver would be 19-0 blowing teams out of the water every week.
