  1. All the Patriots have done on offense are heaves of desperation to Edelman which, if the defenders actually turned to look at the ball, could often be defended.

Unfortunately that's still better than what HOU's offense has managed all game. For crying out loud guys get at least ONE 60+ yard drive for a TD and pull your weight.

They can be NOT GOOD ENOUGH and get fired.     But neither is trash.

"Not good enough" is not being a serious super bowl contender. We aren't, and haven't made the steps toward becoming one in the past 5 years. We have had the same glaring issues for 5 years.

    Can't pass block

    Can't run block

    Defense is a sieve

Are Grigs and Chuck trash? Maybe not. But they haven't done the job they needed to. They're in the Marvin Lewis club - at best the pinnacle of mediocrity. It's time to take a gamble and try for something greater than that.

  3. Carr should have improved his case last night, but many people will hold the injury against him.

In fairness, OAK went against Denver's defense but they had no problem when Carr was playing earlier in the year.

  4. If things are teetering on the ledge, I really hope this isn't some blah blah feel good game that saves Chuck's job. I'd rather lose with an exclamation point and engineer significant change going forward than say, "Well, but we finished strong!" and go through this again.

    I forgot Carr...

    ....He is in there, too

OAK sure has come a long way this year. It really sucks that he got hurt...wouldn't mind seeing them make a playoff run at full strength. Especially as I thought they were the only team with a fair shot upending NE.  KC and PIT might do it but I'm not nearly as confident in either of them.

  6. Carr might still be a viable candidate since with him gone so too probably goes Oakland's playoff success aspirations. Unfortunately, the injury disqualifies him in many people's eyes. Maybe they can still win without him.

Matt Ryan has played the best football. It's a toss up between him, Brady, Rodgers and Carr as to which is most valuable to their team's success.

We've seen life without Brady, and it's not that bad. We're about to see life without Carr.

I think Rodgers is the best QB in football despite his slow start, but Ryan has produced all season. Therefore, I think he deserves the MVP this season.

Who would be the new head coach In Denver?

The name that comes to mind is Mike or Kyle Shanahan\\

    obvious Denver connections

    Peyton-Manning-Doug-Pensinger-Getty-Imag

(Although more than anything I think 18 would be Colts GM if he wanted to get back in to the NFL)

Seriously though either one of those two you mentioned...or Wade  gets promoted to HC?

  8. Manning gets the boot from Indy...Indy goes from serious annual contender to drop dead average overnight.

Manning goes to Denver...two SB appearances in 4 years. Could have been 3 if they weren't hosed by Bill Vinovich in the Ravens playoff game.

Peyton may have zero experience running an organization, but the guy knows what a successful team should look like and how to lead.  I say roll the dice with him if it's on the table.

What's the worst that could happen? We're still 8-8 or worse and still can't even win our crappy division? If that's the case he goes in a couple years and we try again. Sometimes you have to roll the dice instead of going with the status quo of what you KNOW won't work to get ahead. Take a chance. That's true for many facets of life.

    I just don't want Gruden.

He cracks me up on commentary. He's "Mr. I LOVE that guy!"

I don't think I've ever heard him criticize a player. Every time he talks about someone he makes it sound like they're the best thing since sliced bread. He's like the "good guy" WWF announcer.

  10. He's not the next Peyton Manning. That being said, that's not a fair comparison.

Luck is the real deal as in he's a very good quarterback. He goes well beyond what one could reasonably expect with  garbage for a line and defense.

As the team improves (god willing) and Luck gains more experience he can only get better from here. We just have to hope the line doesn't keep getting him killed.
