I put this in another thread, but it belongs here as well....
In the last 24 hours I read a quote from an unnamed NFL exec that basically said this....
The WR class is OK in rounds 3-7. Think about that for a minute...
Nothing much to talk about in rounds 1 and 2. Holy Cow!
Wasn't Antonio Brown drafted in the 5th? I'll take that any day.

If the Giants decide to gamble why wouldn't they bet on Barkley ?
If the Giants are using common sense why wouldn't they draft Barkley?
They can find another midlevel QB at the grocery store. The next Barkley is eating apple sauce and watching cartoons in a highchair right now.

The kid from Clemson. I think his name may be Cain? ....not sure
Yeah he has butterfingers sometimes

Trade down with Jets #6. Get their rd 2 # 50 pick + 4th rd #102 pick+ 2nd rd 2019 pick.

By yr 2 we would have something special. Everything that Fleener was supposed to be. Hands like Dallas Clark with more speed and agility. Definitely better redzone threat.

Ok IndyScribe brought up Lazard and now my wheels are turning. How would everyone feel if we drafted him as TE to battle Doyle for the #1 spot ?

Allen Lazard, Simmie Cobbs.
I would like Lazard at TE. IMO he would be a upgrade over Doyle. Not saying Doyle is bad because I think he's a really good balanced TE but I would like more speed at the TE position.

I heard that this draft has the most tall receivers ever. It is a new trend. There will be someone, even in the 4th round.
I'm still hoping we give Moncrief one more try with new coaches and back with Andrew.
I agree. We should give him one more year to improve consistency.

Anthony Miller if he's available in the 2nd and we don't get help at WR in FA. He might not have the size but catches everything (10 inch hands). He's got speed and can run the whole route tree.
Reminds me of Steve Smith

We obviously need WR help. Im thinking someone over 6'2 in Rd 3 or 4.

I don’t want Barkley I want Indy to draft Chubb and fix the o line no matter the cost.
Then why wouldn't you want Indy to draft Nelson ?

I wasn't debating you. It was conversation. Have a smile

Barkley sure does look impressive at the combine. He may not be my first choice, but I certainly will be happy to have him on the Colts, if it happens.
Pass. Grab Nelson and wait on Sony.

And a track guy
Barkley's time plus his size makes it special until you compare Vita Vea time and his size. IMO

Vita Vea ran a 4.8

He's like 30 lbs lighter than Barkley though.

I'd love to have Landry on the Colts for the right deal.
For those that say he's 'Okay or average" all he's done is set the NFL record for most receptions in the first 4 years.
It's clear that Landry is elite, and elite players get paid. If you want elite players on the Colts, then yo have to be willing to pay, otherwise you have a roster of average/slightly above average players, with a few exceptions (Luck, T.Y.).

Comparing a football player to a basketball player doesn't make any sense.
If they insisted on doing that, at least pick a better basketball player like Michael Jordan.
It's the hype. Relax

Honestly I don't see any of them being as that realistic. Chubb lasting to 5, Fitzpatrick lasting to 6 or Nelson lasting to 11.
There would have to be a serious run on QB's at the top end of the draft for that to happen.
Mine actually could happen.

Pass. That’s a terrible and expensive deal for a 1 year rental. He’s not elite. He’s a tier 2 WR. He’s solid but not really a game changer.
Check the numbers. He is elite.

Of all the reasons to draft Barkley, the fact that some former players want us to take him is the LEAST impressive reason.
We have TWO MONTHS until the draft... can we please try to keep our powder dry until then? Please?
Lots of former Colts want Barkley to be drafted

Trade back. Grab Nelson. If we miss chubb grab key.
