@CardiacColts the OP literally said “swap” meaning send TY to NY, Odell to Indy.

“Swapping him (TY) and a 5th for Odell”

    The OP exact words

Yes, I am stating the team would be swapping TY and a 5th for OBJ.  With OBJ’s attitude and contract situation, I think this would be an even trade.  Gives OBJ a new place to start over, and the Giants a team friendly contract.

I’ll never understand the logic used to make you or anyone else believe TY isn’t Top 10 in the league. Literally just led the NFL in receiving yards a season ago.

And any WR will disappear when they’re not getting the ball. Go look at Antonio Brown against the Colts, :flyingelvis: , and Ravens this past season, he technically “disappeared”.

But hey, to each their own:sigh:

Did I say he wasn’t top 10?  Yes he led the league, but does that make him better than Julio Jones? or Antonio Brown?  I look at it as we trade an older player for a younger more talented player.  If “you” or “anyone else” thinks that TY is more talented than OBJ, then you’re just riding him at that point.   I’ll always have TY’s back, but i’ll also be honest with reality

Brown is good, but he's not "consistently beating triple teams." That's literally insane.

That offense is loaded. The best rb in the league in Bell, Ju-Ju, Martavis Bryant, 2 solid tight ends. No defense triple teams Brown except on the rarest of occasions.

The play calling is 100 times better for Pittsburg than it's been for us under Chuck.

You forget that TY led the entire league in receiving yards with a garbage O-line and an injured Andrew Luck.

With the scheme this year, i’m optimistic TY could again get back to that this year

Man, the number of people here that discount TY and act like he's some B- receiver is truly appalling.

TY is a gem, and a star in this league.

Go talk to Julio Jones or AJ Green about "disappearing" in games. It happens to every receiver, even the elite ones.

TY is elite and everyone needs to realize it.

He’s very much of an elite receiver.  It’s just when I look at OBJ, I see an Antonio Brown.  Someone who can constantly beat triple teams, where as TY struggles with double teams...Unless a safety blows his assignment.  There’s both pros and cons to both players.  I was just curious on what everyone thought about it.

    No.

Rather have TY, + 10 other receivers over Odell

The TY disappears talk is a bit exaggerated

Not sure if your taking the word a little too seriously.  Maybe it’s a bad choice of wording, but no one who really watches the Colts can say that TY does not disappear.  By no means am I saying he isn’t impactful.  Just stating that in multiple sometimes back to back games, he has been shutdown.

  6. It appears that Giants John Mara is beginning to be tired of OBJ’s antics.  He stated that obj recently hasn’t been helping his contract situation.

"I guess my response to that is I'm tired of answering questions about Odell's behavior," Mara added. "He knows what’s expected of him and now it's up to him."

Now I know we have TY, and I also know that we would have to carry two WR’s with heavy contracts.  We all know that TY disappears in games here and there, so what do you all think about swapping him and a 5th for OBJ?  We get a monster of a threat; being able to pay him what he wants.  We would basically be giving up a 5th rd for an elite impact player

  7. Ok wth is going on?!  I was behind Ballard, but WTH?.  How are we rebuilding, when we’re creating more holes.  What reason, WHEN we have over 70m would release Hankins.  I’m not panicking, but i’m * at this one

I am am in the “be patient” camp. Let the process work itself out. And I’ve wanted to give Ballard the benefit of the doubt at all times.

However, I have to say he has badly miscalculated in free agency. The Colts are no longer a must go destination for players. You have to pay the $ to get the best free agents. The Colts had the third highest amount of money headed into free agency. They have NOTHING to show for it at this point. The remaining free agents are basically second tier. Sorry, but this is a major fail. If you are the Colts, you likely have to pay premium $ to get the best free agents. This fail by Ballard is arguably setting this team back a full year. They need to build through both the draft and FA.

Ballard has majorly failed in the FA process. The Colts are further behind than they were a month ago. What a huge disappointment. And it pains me to say this.

I agree that you need somewhat of a balance between building through the draft and FA.  I am behind Ballard, but the only thing that worries me is the impression he is beginning to give off.  Upcoming years may be difficult.  Future FA may not even give us a chance to talk with them; knowing that we have a be cheap mindset.  This could very well backfire, and damage our reputation of being a great destination to come to.

I’m going to say this completely hypothetical based on our presumed interests in players.  But, how would you feel about the starting Oline below?

    LT Castanzo

    LG Jensen/Mewhort

    C Kelly

    RG Jensen/Mewhort

    RT Fluker

I think we bring Mewhort back on a prove it deal.  Holder tweeted that he’s heard good news on his health.  Thoughts? Does this fix the oline in your opinion?

I would definitely move Fluker to G, and have Jensen/ Mewhort battle it out for a spit next to Castonzo; where Mewhort played his best.  After that, it still feels like there’s missing talent to finish the line at RT.  I’d probably end up trading back with Buffalo and drafting a RT in the 20’s.  I would fill comfortable with that.

I'm not a fan of Davenport and just don't get the 1st rd hype for him. He was good, not great against low level OL and struggled at the Senior Bowl against higher level (not necessarily even average NFL level) OL. For me, I would have a hard time taking him above the mid 2nd rd, let alone at 20.

It’s just the fact, that he fits the mold of what Ballard wants in a Defense.  Big, Fast, Strong.  You can’t teach natural talent.  I always look back at the Marcus Peters pick.  I for sure thought he would drop to the 20’s.

  11. I’ll be the first to say that I was completely wrong about Ballard’s approach this FA.  I knew he wouldn’t throw money, but I expected he’d atleast do whatever to get either Norwell or Hitchens.  At this point I feel very confident that Ballard trades down for Davenport, and will go WR in the 2nd.  Either Sutton or Moore.  I just have that feeling.  Just expect the unexpected from now on, when it comes to the Colts.  Can’t get mad at a few hiccups.

Love your opening line ASTY. I know; I know. I shouldn't mock the Browns especially with a new GM & all. The ones I feel really sorry for are the fans. Nobody deserves that level of intolerable cruelty & annual disappointment.

Tyrod Taylor has had flashes of brilliance, but he's not gonna make the Browns a contender in their division or anything. Is he gonna be a 1 yr bridge for whatever starting QB Cleveland drafts? Sounds like it.

That’s exactly what it sounds like, yes sir.  It’s times like this, where I do feel bad for the fans.  I just want to tell Cleveland just two words to their face.  “Just stop”  It’s maddening when you know, THEY know what needs to be done.  It’s just that they refuse to act on it.

  13. With two of the first four picks in the 2018 NFLdraft, Cleveland Browns general manager John Dorsey is open to making a trade.

Per NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal, Dorsey said the Browns' door is "wide-open" to deal the No. 1 overall pick.

"Give me a call and see what's up," he said

I just read this statement.  Yesterday I read that the Giants are willing to trade their pick too.  Is anyone else buying this, because saying “Give me a call and see what’s up” is telling me that I am about to completely waste my time with you.
