The Atlanta game was the worst.  If you're a playoff team, you have to beat that team.  They didn't even show up.  They were bullied for four quarters.

Surprisingly, I don't think Ballard was asked about or mentioned that game.  The Atlanta game was a worse failure than the Raiders game from 2021.  I would love to hear what Shane thought happened that day.

The players were all watching for Santa.

He never said all the Super Bowl we will win. He said all the superbowls we want to win.

Precisely, Chloe.  I just re-listened to the statement.  He said "want to win."

Houston won the division but was not even close to being dominant. They barely beat us and they had their franchise QB and we didn't. Being dominant in the division is what the Colts and Peyton were from 2003-2010. Winning the Division 7 out of 8 years in that stretch.

Agreed.  My post was intended as a counter to those touting Houston.

that is a sky is falling mindset. It isn’t there yet, and Pitt never said he wanted out of Indy. But we will see what happens.

Agreed.  As far as Houston being dominant in the division - this may be true, so long as injuries and other issues don't get in the way.  Somehow, they always seem to.  Stay tuned.

Here’s a thought. Maybe get aggressive for once and make a big trade up.

At some point, Ballard’s going to shock us and be aggressive in the offseason… or he’s going to set his predecessor up with a young roster, well managed cap, and no lost draft inventory.

2024 is the year. I can feel it. Aggressive in free agency. Aggressive moving up the board for the talent this team needs.

    “Successor” you mean?

I'm still surprised people have a problem with the 4th and 1 call or even the timeout. The Texans were in man coverage with a run blitz, any type of inside run wasn't going to work, and Goodson is a pass catching RB that's his role in the offense. You combine that with JT was obviously hurt and Moss is not a good pass catcher, Goodson was the right player to be in.

It's just that play really was a reflection of our offense this year, the right play called but we have Gardner as QB and he is a great backup QB, yet still a backup and is gonna make mistakes like throwing behind the receiver. This season was a success in my book and I'm excited to see how this offense evolves with AR back.

    Excellent post.

Nothing really matters until the QB position is settled, and sadly, it's far from settled.

It is for the coming draft.  Colts will sit tight at QB.

  8. Lots of discussion.  It all boiled down to a wide-open pass to the flat with the QB failing to throw the ball to the correct spot.  I think MInshew missed the target because he was shocked that the back was so open.

    It's as simple as that.
