Chess is boring. Hopefully, the Colts won't be boring and give Philly a run for their money but the Colts are not going to win this game. Remember it is week 3.

Chess is a thinking man's game so mentioning it is boring speaks volumes.

Week 2 we won so why can't we win in week 3?   What logic is this?

Yeah but the good thing is that the video is already out there and he’s done all the PR stuff. With Mixon the tape surfaced a few months before he was set to get drafted.

No Mixon's video was out there almost a year and a half before the draft. Just like this situation it has been taken care of sorta speak but yet when draft season gets here the national media will want to start the uproar again. Happens with various things every year. Different degrees of severity though.

I was thinking the same.   Most of Grigsons picks started trending down very soon after the started.   In fact most were not on the team 2 years after being drafted.

Most of them aren't even in the league now or two years after being drafted.  Not good at fitting player with scheme.

I love Oliver, but Jeffrey Simmons might be the most explosive interior lineman in the class if he decides to cone out. The tape actually matches the PFF ranking. He dismantled LSU and destroyed Arkansas. There’s a small asterisk next to the box for character though. But it was a long time ago

It still involves a video similar to Mixon though. This might drop him a round or two and take him off some teams boards. Not saying ours but man he is productive. Looked really good last year and has looked good so far going up against some good lines. I hope to hear his name a few times against Bama. Could see him slipping to the 2nd round or even 3rd when everyone starts to talk about the video and character stuff.

Doug Pederson doesn't play that way, he is not conservative at all like Jay Gruden and Alex Smith. If he has Wentz in the game, he will roll out and take plenty of 20 yard shots, IMO. They would even go max. protect and force us to play single high safety to run from it, and take shots down the field. While Wentz may be a bit rusty, I don't think it will last more than a quarter. I think they were working out the rust in the first 2 games in practice, as much as possible without game action.

Our run D will definitely be tested for sure, they like to run multiple TE formations like we do as well.

Yea the run D will for sure be tested. I see what your saying and can agree but I just see the 1st quarter being a short route type offense. Get him comfortable and get Matthews back involved. Aghlor will be running crossing routes as well but probably looking at 10+ yards. Regardless I hope we get in some favorable matchups and take advantage of their lack of key players.

  6. I hope the Eagles run an offense similar to what we saw in DC. Short passes to get Wentz comfortable since he has not played at all. Our D is built for that and will allow for some good stops as long as we stay disciplined. They are down a lot of offensive weapons and this can help us. We just need to be ready on the offensive side because they have a good D. I like Reich in this matchup. He seems to prepare well.

Goal line situations. We’re on a youth movement. He’s clearly not our future so we need to give the young guys as many reps as possible hence why there were questionable cuts like Simon

We are looking to get reps for younger guys if they earn the spot. Basham has not been on the field much because he has not earned anything. Turay is getting a few snaps but not some huge amount. Sheard, Hunt, and Woods have played a lot of snaps and none of them are apart of this youth movement. They play whoever earns the spot. They do not care about age (Slauson is 2nd oldest on the roster and starts over Smith). When Turbin is back, if he earns a spot they will play him. They have packages for players and I see every RB getting touches.

Yea this list will change a few times for sure. One guy that might sneak in is Te'Von Coney - LB for Notre Dame. Very good Roquan Smith type of player that will get a lot of eyes on him combine draft time. Would love him but he fits the WILL spot for us imo. I see him as a top LB and a 1st round guy come draft time.

You took 3 paragraphs to rehash precisely what I said. Then you say I make no sense.

These aren't excuses but rather statements of ones opinion versus yours.

    smh. That was bad.

Out of all you said there were parts that did not make since...hints why I said that. If you have no comment or cannot respond then maybe next time just do not comment...

    smh. that was bad.

Mack Wilson, LB, Alabama... I'm not sure LB will be priority in next year's draft since the LBs we got in the last two drafts seem to be doing pretty well so far, but Mack Wilson is the exact type of MIKE LB this scheme usually calls for - I have rarely seen a harder hitter at the position. He's ferocious.

He isn't available until the 2020 draft correct?  He does look pretty good. They have a few guys that look solid and are a little lighter.

Many thought that a "career finished" Randy Moss was a non factor when he was with the Raiders, The Pats got Randy and set records. IJS.

BTW, It seems like a lot of folks have nothing good to say about standout players (i.e. Khalil Mack, L. Bell, and J. Gordon). even though these players have proven to be the best at their positions respectively. And somehow the Colts are better off without them. I wander why and how.

They say Bell is too old (27 y/o), Khalil Mack wants to much money (So you think you could get A.Luck for the price of Ryan Tannenhill, or Matt Cassell), and J. Gordon (Well hes x,y,z.) I don't understand peoples reasoning. Have an excuse about everything.

First Randy did not have issues along the lines of not playing for mulitple years and still a potential bad move from banishment. Randy just took plays off and was outspoken about not wanting to be in Oakland. So, I can see a comparison based on Patriots grabbing two good WR's but that's about it.

The second part makes no sense though. Are you trying t o spark an argument by just throwing these names out there? I mean the poeple talk about how good these players all the time so not sure what you mean? Why are we better off without a DE thats solid but took Chicagos future picks plus 23 mil/year? Well because we are building...pretty simple really. We need those picks. Bell is still on a team and why would you pay him say 13-15 mil/year? Gordon has issues off the field but with this trade scenario I would have gave it a try but based on how Ballard has been since day 1 I am not shocked we did not.

The last part you mention Luck for the price of Tannehill or Cassell...again confusing as in why this is stated? These aren't excuses but rather statements of ones opinion versus yours.

My assumption of decent money is simply that folks spend when they feel there is a missing piece they want and if they have cap room to do so. And it only takes one team to do it.

I could easily see him land some incentive filled deal for much more than $1M.

But all of that is a moot point since Cleveland will likely trade him and someone will give up a pick (my guess is a conditional 4th or 3rd rounder) in order to have him for this year cheap at his 790K salary and have his RFA rights next year.

I think the real challenge for a team like ours is more-so that if he is actually good you then need to pay the man. And no matter if he was good for a year or not, I would be hesitant to invest any significant long term money in him w any guarantees based on his history.

Which means some team that is far more risk tolerant will make that move.

I am super curious to see where he ends up today (assuming he is actually moved today as rumored).

I mean I agree with majority of what you are saying. I do not think he gets moved today but rather gets cut (and not today either). I see this as the Browns trying to get something from nothing. You have a player who supposedly hurt himself and this is why you want to trade/cut him.  Well that right there negates a possible trade if the injury is legit. Plus a team can give him an incentive type contract if he is cut, but again I still do not see the money being any large amount. You have a guy getting dropped from a team that tried everything for the guy and now 2 games in he is going to be possibly released. Many teams are going to see this and not want him in the locker room let alone paying him. Again, something around 1mil for the next 13 games maybe.

Well because I agree his character is a issue I was just simply stating that his talent shouldn’t be a question. That’s why it shouldn’t be mentioned because the original statement and dispute had nothing to do with that..

I gotcha. I hope he still has some talent because I quietly root for him. He could have been one the top WR's every year if he could conquer the deamons.

Manning did the same thing he would throw a lot of bonehead INT's.

I mean I am not going to argue that, but that is not the point in this at all.  The throw you are referring t o was just simply a bad decision and bad throw. Swearinger had that easily read and was able to take a step forward to grab it.

Our offense really could use another Playmaker at WR.  Too bad Josh Gordon is such a flake because he could be the answer.  Teams only really have to game plan for TY.  I'm not really expecting us to score a lot of points this year.  Hope I'm wrong but we'll see.  Our defense is just going to get better and should keep us in every game.

This is the point of our offensive scheme. A team can just target Hilton but they need to double him for the most part. This then allows for our other guys to get open with mis-matches. Also you get guys to open up the middle or allow crossing routes. Our old offense, yes you are correct you could just cut the field in half and stop us. Now we have a good mix plus you add big bodies like Ebron close to the red zone and you have targets.

Once everything gets clicking and we are running full cylinders I see us scoring more points for sure.

Ya well without the defender jumping the route the pass was in direct line to Hilton so ya he could have checked it down but he tried for Hilton but sadly it didn't work that time.

The whole point of defense is to be in the way of passes, right? That throw was beyond a terrible decision. He will get better each week imo but he also has been known for these bonehead plays. He likes to try and force a few.
