From what I’ve been reading. This isn’t too much of a stretch. The only one is Oakland. We will.

How does LA Chargers signing a 42 year old QB keep them from drafting someone? Other than Oakland I would put the Chargers on that list of a far stretch.

I'm chuckling at the hysteria over the Colts having to mortgage the ranch to get a QB they want. I truly believe they can wait, and pounce ahead of the Raiders or another team by trading 13 and 34, move a couple of spots up the ladder, and get Love or Herbert, whichever one is left. And remember, the Raiders may decide to roll with Carr. If they stick with Carr, they aren't going to pick a QB at 12. So lets calm down and be patient. If the Colts want a QB in the first round, they possess the ammo with picks this year to get it done. No need to mortgage the future.

I could chuckle at you chuckling though. Each year QB’s jump off the boards. That’s the trend. This year will more than likely be the same. Herbert and Love are raising their stock plus Burrows is your #1. Tua isn’t falling unless health becomes a key issue and then that hurts our chance plus we wouldn’t want that. So yes you would have to offer stuff to move into the top 10.

If anything FA will show some key things. Chargers could shoot for someone in FA and not draft. Carolina could stay with Cam or move on to a draft pick. Many options exist.

  3. There are some good players at this years Senior Bowl. I can see at least 2 players being drafted by Ballard. With both Herbert and Love getting attention they might be out of our reach. We might be looking at something else 1st round. I just don’t see Ballard moving up for anything.

How so? We see that stuff happen all the time in the NFL, and college, that's the whole reason players transfer from smaller to bigger more accomplished schools, players that are average can be great with the right team/Coaches around them.

Your last sentence was the best thing you could say. All of the other stuff doesn’t matter. Coaches and schemes are what matters. Fromm had talent and didn’t do what Burrows did. Why is that? Because talent not just roster. Love going from USU to LSU doesn’t mean anything other than he could have still struggled with terrible decisions against better teams.

love is awesome, dude is going to be the next great QB in the NFL, if he had the talent level that burrow has around him, my God. Imo he won't make it out if the top 15 picks in the draft. Lord help us all if the patriots grab him, he is Patrick mahomes 2.0, from a small school, overlooked but has amazing arm talent. I hope we are smart enough to grab him with our first round draft pick.

why compare him to Burrows? To say he doesn’t have the same talent is why his stats aren’t even close to Burrows is the worst argument. Burrows plays way better competition weekly. Still has to make the plays happen as well. Love will get drafted higher than his skill set. That happens every single year. But to try and compare him to a better talent because LSU recruits better than USU is a flawed argument.

No way he gets to free agency.....no way.  Chiefs need to invest in their D. Now, I could see Armstead from the Niners making it.  They have to much talent on their D line and may not b able to afford him.

They have already talked about resigning Mahomes. Plus they don’t have much money after signing some guys. Easily a possibility he does but the Chiefs could figure something out.

I’d take him over Fromm too but if you have a big arm QB but no other special traits you have Brissett. Eason doesn’t move the needle for me at all.

I don’t want Eason just to clear that. Big arm talent is good when you have a good delivery. JB has the worst hitch in a deep ball I have ever seen. DB’s can just sit back and easily break on the ball when you watch Brissett start his throwing process. Having the ability to throw a rope at 10 yards doesn’t always impress me. One thing that many need to remember is our WR’s are the worst amongst drops each year. That hurts everything. Kills plays and kills momentum. I would say Eason looks like someone who could be a little better in the pocket than JB.

I don’t see it with Eason. I see a big arm and nothing else. I mean he couldn’t beat out Jake Fromm. That says a lot IMO, considering Fromm isn’t special.

I mean technically Josh Fields didn’t either. And Fields is looking at the potential of top 5 pick next year. Flawed logic and not sure why it would matter. He played this year and had ups and downs. I personally am not huge on him but I would take him over Fromm.

  9. I will never understand the hate or whatever for AC. Dude is a pretty darn good LT. finally has something worth while at Guard next to him and that is our best side for sure. Both are studs. You resign him for sure. A lot of other guys will get 1 year deals or walk and I’m fine with that.

Sheard I would resign only for a team favored contract. You could likely find a younger version of him for a few dollars more tho.

Pascal you should resign. Reward guys when they deserve it. Other than that I’m fine with replacements.

We need to find a backup to Kenny Moore. Seemed like we had one in Taylor. What he does is so important to this team. Right now we have nobody to replicate it.

I completely agree. You also have Ya-Din who has struggled bad at times being forced into a zone. I hope he grows for next year. Desir has been injured and up and down so we haven’t had the best coverage. We need another CB in my eyes. Not necessarily early but hopefully mid rounds. Depth and someone pushing for starts. Also a strong DT can be huge for us. Push that pocket allowing the zone to be more helpful. QB’s have to much time to pick us apart.

  11. I can’t see Ballard moving up for a WR. QB maybe but I see him moving back in this draft to gain more picks. He can grab depth and key positions. I see another WR added in FA. Maybe even a DT. He has to look at key guys to replace aging guys along that D line and he has been outspoken about getting that D to a prime level. I just wish we would stop with the high school zone coverage crap.

If we are 6-10 or maybe even 8-8 this year......  with JB

The JB experience will be over

We have a good overall team, as a 3 year player JB isnt going to just get significantly better the following year

I DO believe, that IF we are sub .500 by the 8-10th game, you may see the reins handed over to Kelly to see what he has in the tank.

I would hate to go into the draft for next year without at least giving him a try

Unless JB has a disatrous beginning to the year he will not be sat for Kelly.  The team put money into Hoyer, and if anything bad happens he will get the nod before Kelly imo.

  13. The value is way overhyped on JB. People act like if not traded we don’t get anything for this great player. That’s not true. He has shown little to be desired for some team to give a high pick for. At best we get maybe a 3rd for him but once he leaves in FA, which I see because he wants to start, we will probably get a 4th comp. I am fine with the comp pick because it’s not that bad of value for having a good back up this year that knows the system.

  14. DK will be drafted before our pick. This guy is an athletic freak. I see him more as a work out warrior but yet he has drive to get better. He wants to be the next Julio and he knows it will take hard work for that. If he has the football drive to constantly get better than yes he will be solid. I don’t know how his interviews have went but I see him going top 15.

For the the record I want AJ Brown because he has everything we need.

Indianapolis trades #26, Jacoby Brissett, and a fourth round pick to Washington in exchange for #15

    Round 1:15) Ed Oliver, IDL

Let me start by saying that I really believe this trade to be realistic

Why do you think that trade is realistic? The over valued Brissett will not bring back what people think. Way to high of expectations with him. To be honest that trade would never work.

    I would love Oliver though.

  16. I would say that with any WR they target or draft the exact position with X, Z, big slot and all that goes out the window. Reich wants to move guys around and scheme guys open. To me Ballard is looking at guys but Reich to me has a lot of say in guys. He asked for Funchess and Ballard got him for him.

That being said AJ Brown to me is a great fit for us at 34. He runs solid routes and has good hands. He isn’t small so he can be the Reggie type and be a possession guy. We need the solid guy to go along with TY and AJ fits. He could play slot and outside allowing Reich to have some good schemes with all of them. Just my opinion anyways.
