Maybe, Sanders Sr is still thinking of his youth, the type of attitude in that age worked out as it was seen as resilient and upbeat despite the odds, but if his son is thrashing former teammates and indulging in smearing on X and generally not building a high level of trust and comradery among his brothers, I guess he'll lay his own bed or couch.

NFL is still in need of lot of quality QBs though so they're gonna be hungry for top of the QB class.

In his defense Shedeur wasn't randomly talking trash about a player unprovoked. It started with the player in question talking trash on Colorado and Sanders Sr. as he joined the transfer portal, Shedeur was giving it to him in return. You could even say he was defending his team and his coach/father.

  2. Shedeur will be a first round pick like it or not (unless he falls apart this season but I doubt it), next years QB class is not nearly as strong as this years class and their will be more than 1 team looking for a QB. Frankly this class maybe 1 to 2 QBs look first round worthy right now, Beck will probably get some Buzz because Georgia will have alot of wins but Georgia doesn't ask a lot from there QBs. Of course someone will probably jump the rankings having an amazing season maybe Duke's Leonard.

This is what the current class is looking:

    1. Shedeur Sanders Colorado

    2. Carson Beck Georgia

    3.Quinn Ewers Texas

    4. Jalen Milroe Alabama (Who I think isn't a real QB more of a leg threat but bad at throwing)

    5. Preston Stone SMU (First I'm hearing about)

    6. Cam Ward Miami

I think fans need to accept the player Paye is instead of being disappointed  he isn’t the guy they wanted or thought. He was never going to be a 15 sack  guy. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t really important to the team. Ballard never sold him as an elite pass rusher. He would of went much higher if teams thought he would be a elite pass rusher.

Yeah he isn't a playmaker, but he's a very solid starter

I think that $13m was scaring some people?

It really isn't a lot of money for good starting DE.

I thought this was a pretty easy decision.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty easy decision as well, he's great against the run and his sack numbers have increased every year he's played (4,6,8.5). Definitely worth the 5th year option, because if he keeps progressing and hits double digits, he'll be worth way more than 13m.

I don't like Ewers as a pro prospect, but he actually had a productive season. Texas went 12-2 and made the CFP. Teams competing at that level don't make QB changes unless they really have to, and Texas didn't. And when they do, they don't turn to a true freshman who's already carrying the burden of living up to the Manning name.

I don't know anything about Arch Manning, I haven't paid attention to him, have never watched him play, and I hold no opinion about how talented he is or how good he can be. But I don't know if him not beating out Ewers in 2023 means anything. It will be interesting to see what happens this season, though.

Speaking of potentially overhyped freshman QBs, in 2019, Kedon Slovis was the next big thing at USC. He set records, won Pac 12 Rookie of the Year, etc. Things started to backslide for various reasons, including Covid, USC changed coaches, the new coach brought in Caleb Williams, Slovis has since transferred twice, and just went undrafted. Now he's signed with the Colts, with a nice guaranteed for a UDFA. I don't expect anything to happen with him at the Colts, but at least we know there's some talent there.

Perfect example is Joe Burrow, who sat the bench behind JT Barrett and Dwayne Haskins.

  6. RB, FS, CB would be my three biggest needs in that order. I think we need a passing down scat back like a Hines/Sproles type RB, who can make plays in space and off check downs. Then FS and Corner I want more competition for our young secondary.

Anybody feel from watching AD Mitchell’s tape that Quinn Ewers is overrated, for a QB predicted to go in the first round next year. AD had so many underthrown and in particular late balls by Ewers.

Yup Ewers, will be a career backup at best in the NFL, this years QB group was unusually deep that's why he stayed in college he would have been a late round pick like Rattler

Micah Abraham might be the most overlooked player in this year’s NFL Draft.

The redshirt senior was a menace in the secondary for Marshall the past three seasons, starting in every game during that span except for one. His play this year earned him First Team All-Sun Belt honors for the second consecutive season.

For most of his college career, he’s consistently been a lockdown corner in the best Group of Fiveconference in the country.

So, what’s the catch? Why is Abraham hardly making any draft noise?

Perhaps one reason is because of his size. At 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, he’s not exactly the biggest guy on the field. He also isn’t the most physical, and perhaps his size has something to do with this. Abraham can sometimes get taken out of plays while failing to shed any blocks.

A lack of physicality can mean bad news in the NFL. But Abraham can certainly become more physical and will put on more muscle and weight during his quest to make an NFL roster.

Sounds like a possible slot corner backup to learn behind Kenny Moore
