  1. Almost everyone of you have drafted for need and not BPA.   Ballard as was stated earlier is a BPA guy and that is the way it should be.

Hard to do a mock draft if you don't know who is available.  1st pick should whoever is the left in order.     So if the top three are Barkley Fitzpatrick and Chubb. Then he will pick the top one of those left

imo Nelson falls to the mid to bottom of round one.  Maybe even top of second

    he's a guard!

And who says he can't be? Just because you think like that doesn't mean it's true we all know we have a terrible o line and I don't care how good the rb can be he won't do much with a horrible o line plus you gather all of this from a rookie lol it's not like he been playing for 3 or 4 years let him develop and see what happens

Gore is over 1000 yards again.   Read his pre draft reviews.  They are accurate compared to what he has been for this team

I'd love to be wrong.   But pretty sure I'm not

So Jim sat back and let Polian do his thing and what? Should he have fired Polian long before he did?

Look I am one of those who think Polian was very good at putting winning teams together but not championship teams together. They all lacked total team talent. He couldn't put together even an average defense together and add the worst special teams play even compounded the problem.

Jim was stuck and it don't take a rocket scientist to figure out why.

Yeah we have bigger needs than rb at the 1st round....if o line can get right mack can be our guy

Ok. I have to ask.....  why do you and others think that Mack can be an every down back?    Where has he shown any resemblance of being able to do that?

Do you just like him for his few flash plays and think he can do that every down?  Or even 4-5 times a game? What other back in the league is he like?

He is not an every down back plain and simple.  He was brought in here as a change of pace back and rightfully so.

The night before s game, the national TV announcers meet with a number of top players and coaches to get deep background on the game.    Some of that info can be used on air,  some can't.   But it gives the announcers a better understanding of the two teams.

I think when Brissett meets with CC and the rest of the broadcast crew that would be when JB would have shared the info about McDaniels...

Yes correct.  That is what collinsworth said

I have to believe that Nagy is a serious candidate.      I would assume both he and a Toub would be early favorites.

But I'm more curious now as to who the other candidates might be?    Those may be some very interesting names....

I'd add in Josh.  And Frank Reich

apparently Ballard has been grilling Jacoby about josh according to collinsworth on the Thursday game

We can use a difference maker in a bunch of positions, so trading down 10 spots or even twice is an option, IMO.  Hooker is supposedly a difference maker and he was there at 15 last year.

Very true unless there is a QB like Luck there you have to listen.

If for for some reason Luck is not available I would not be against Alex Smith especially if Nagy is the hire

I haven't read the entire thread , you may have done so.

Anyway , I've heard here and there that Matt Nagy is the "gem" of that coaching staff. He's 39 and was recently promoted to OC. Someone quoted Andy Reid saying he's the best HC prospect he's ever had working for him.

Has he been mentioned in this thread ?

    Yes.

  9. Ballard say he wanted Toub?       For some reason someone says something and it gets picked up carried and amplified without merit.

I posted in another thread it would be highly unprofessional to say he has interest while Pags is still here.   So I am 100% convinced he has never said this.

I am different than most people I guess,    When something like this is posted I look into it.   And I have found no where that he has said anything about who he wants of IF he wants a new HC.  Maybe I missed something.    Help me out if I have

Ballard is not your typical GM. Remember...he stated that he wouldnt make draft picks based on NEED. He said he would draft based on BPA because he prefers depth at every position  (like in Kansas City).

Sitting at #3 the best player available is Barkley. Everyone knows this. It's not an offensive lineman, defensive player or QB. What Ballard does would be fine with me. Our number 1 goal is to find a head coach that can get our team back to its winning ways. 2nd goal is/can be a #1 goal, but seeing that Luck had the entire season to heal up after surgery, I see that as a problem solved. I really think Luck will come back strong, despite what others believe. I like to think positive. Everything will fall into place. Let's just trust the process Ballard is installing.

Actually I will disagree with you.  Most GM's base draft picks on BPA and not need.   So that would make him more typical....  BTW.  BPA is always the best way to draft.

That's a fine approach in theory, but if you look at the list of upcoming free agents on the Oline, that plan falls apart really quickly. Here's a list of offensive line free agents for 2018. I don't recognize a lot of those names, but of the guys on that list that I have heard of, most of them are either getting old or not very good, and of those that are good, there's no one that's going to fix an offensive line with as much need for talent as ours has. We could potentially get one of our guard spots figured out, but I don't think the interior OL is getting fixed in free agency, and there isn't a single tackle that I really like as a starter for us.

I'm with you on hopefully getting the second pick and trading down for a ransom, and if we're able to do that, I would be taking the best offensive lineman on the board at wherever we end up, and spending another early round (2nd or 3rd) pick on someone at the OL position we didn't address in the first.

DJ Fluker.  Young and is not going to want to stay with the Giants IMO

Moncrief is fragile and will never live up to his potential.

Possibly but he has a lot of talent and if channeled properly would be a significant weapon
