Yet there is no way the RAVENS fans were thinking Chuck's team was an embarrassment!
Or all of the teams that were behind at halftime this season. Who cares if you agree Dude?
But carrying him off the field is a joke. If the stadium is yelling Chuck! Chuck! Chuck! i'll be stunned.

He wasn't carried off the field in Baltimore. If he was then it would be an embarrassment

I honestly don't think much of him.  He seems to only want to throw the ball if he believes the target is wide open.  He doesn't take risks and holds the ball way too long.  If you think about what he did this year, most often it was a big play or bust.  TY would catch a ball and run 45 yards for a TD.  He was terrible at consistently moving the ball.

I hope the Colts pick a QB later in the draft to develop as a backup.  I don't think Brissett is that good.

    Blame  Chud for this

You also have to stop the run some on 1st and 2nd down. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. We're clearly not watching the same player...I guess everybody looks bad on a losing team.

I'm pretty sure Morrison will be with us next year. We have other much more painful (OLB, DE, CB , CB, CB, OG, OT) and glaring needs

    HUH????    Seriously. HUH?

If we find out, before the draft, that we don't have ALuck for all of 2018 I would still draft other needs before drafting a QB.  A very good line can make an average (though I think he is above average) QB look very good.  On the other hand, as we've seen, a very good QB looks crappy behind a bad line.

I still think Brissett can be much better starting QB with a full camp and better O and D.

This has been my line of thinking for a while.   If Luck is not there next yr I think you consider a QB with the 1st pick but ONLY if you feel he is the real deal and a franchise QB for the next 12 years.   Otherwise build the rest of the team.  This is not a one year rebuild for a SB run without Luck.

I would not be opposed to Brisset as starter next yr and build the rest of the team around him through the draft.  I also would look at QB's like Alex Smith as a FA to come in for a few years until we can find Andrews future replacement.

All that said I truly believe Luck will be back and be as good as new.  So this is all hypothetical

I've long thought Pagano was in over his head and I can't wait to see him shown the door as HC.

But I have no problem with the players celebrating Pagano however they choose.  His character and commitment have been something for all of us to be proud of.

    Proud of?????

The only reason that Chud and Monochino still have jobs right now is because Pags knows he's gone.  Otherwise he would do exactly what he has done in the past.  Throw blame on anyone close...  Pep, Manusky, Grigson.... and fire them.....Faces change but the situation remains the same.

I am not proud of anything that has to do with this team over the last few years.  Except for a couple of individuals like Gore

Get him out of here so we can stop the embarrassment of this franchise or at least show that they realize who the real dead weight is.

Carry him off the field.    Give me a freakin break

    Chuck Pagano..

Team never quit...played MUCH better than the talent on the roster...Pagano has earned the right to stay.

Any conscious fan knows. No one wins with the roster we had this year

..the super dark horse is Robert Mathis........in house already...in training already

A man who would get instant respect from Colts fans

    Too much egg nog????

Absolutely...He proved against Buffalo, he can still play.

..we have holes but running back is not one of them

I plan on us being a playoff team next year and we need multiple backs including a reliable guy like Frank Gore..who can still get 1,000 yards

9 hours ago, throwing BBZ said:

Frank is still very good. He blocks well. And plays every week. And we don't need to be spending a pick in the first 4 rds on a running back with our needs.

Finally a couple of smart answers on this....  Why waste a pick on something that doesn't need fixed right now...  Too many other holes.   He is worth another season if he wants to come back.   If Luck is back next yr. we are once again a contender

No it wouldn't. A tribute to a coach that the team respects and cares about wouldn't be an embarrassment to anyone.

You will never get me to agree with that.....   It would absolutely be an embarrassment especially to the fans that have wanted him gone for years.  Anyone that thinks that Pagano has done even an adequate job the last few years is an embarrassment to the rest of Colts fans.  For anyone that supports him especially when speaking to fans of other teams makes a laughing stock of this fan base if they actually believe that we as fans are supporting Pagano or Irsays decision to keep him....

Being carried off the field is a tribute to a winner.   Pagano is no where close to that!

If he actually had the best interests of the team in mind he would have bowed out long ago.

I can understand not wanting to give Chuck a hard time going out the door, but carrying him off the field to end a 4-12 season would be the most Participation Banner move possible.

That and it would be an embarrassment to the organization, and the fans....

Not sure why anyone should attempt to sensor fans for their thoughts on this terrible team.

We are what we are. Not a very good football team. If you want to say it less nicer than that then you should have the right to do so.

Remember,  Dallas had the best O line in the league.

I'm hoping they get Nelson.  Solidify that spot for a decade.  Helps both the run game and the passing game.

Possibly.    I won't disagree with you.   But did the past RBs they had make the Oline look better and cover faults like Peyton did here? Or is it the Oline that makes Zeke or any of their RBs look good?

im not advocating FOR us to take a RB (in fact I am against it) my question is how much better are the Cowboys with Zeke as opposed to with their other RBs.   And they have a couple of very good back ups.

Has anyone seen seen that much difference in Dallas in the absence of Zeke?

I am predictable with my tag line but it is only offered to the seriously uninformed.

You don't care for me on here, I get it and somehow will get over it.  But in all seriousness, the best poster on here is Superman - bar none. If he points out the holes in your theory, I would take a listen and seriously reconsider whatever stance you are taking.  You are continually debating not just a bad point but one that is simply wrong.

Now give me one of those cute gifs.

Not why you think superman is a better poster than me

  13. As far as taking a RB in the 1st.  Let's look at Dallas before Zekes suspension.  During it. And now when he's back

Is there enough of a difference there to justify using a pick on a RB with our 1st pick?

just wondering if  Barkley is still there when we pick. He would most likely be BPA   But I guess that may not be who is first on Ballards board.    And I assume he picks BPA with the exception of the rankings being close he would chose BPA with need

True...though Pederson spent the better part of a decade on NFL rosters as a QB...for some very good coaching staffs. That type of experience is invaluable.

Again, Pederson is part of the Reid coaching tree...as Nagy would be as well. I think he will get his chance some day...I just don't want it to be the Colts at this time. But if they did hire him, I wouldn't be upset...at least not like I would if they hired someone like Shaw or Fisher.

No way to Fisher...  I doubt that Shaw would have any interest.  He has stated that Stanford is his dream job....  Maybe they fire him I dont know.   But I dont think they go that route.  I am not impressed with him that much anyway.  Although he would bring some familiarity with Luck as would Harbaugh.

I honestly believe that Irsay will want a HC that will get the fan base excited.. He kinda #ed it up the last time .  I dont think Ballard has that same idea in mind though.

It will be interesting.   I am not sure who I would want yet.  I'll voice once I see who the candidates are

I will say...everything I have said could be also be said about Pederson, as he was the OC during the time Nagy was the QB coach.

And Pederson has flourished in PHI this season. However, this is his second season. And Pederson had more experience and was a former QB.

I am not ruling out Nagy ever. I just don't think he's the guy right now. I would have much rather hired Shanahan.

Nagy was a former QB also....  if you read the article about him which is interesting....  he took the first job from Reid thinking he would get a shot at QB as a backup if they saw him throw.   He even ran the scout team as QB or something like that

  16. 5 minutes ago, shastamasta said:

He was co-OC last season...and KC was a below average offense. And when he was the QB coach, KC was a bottom-tier offense. He wasn't running the offense, but I don't really see how his time as QB coach is a plus. KC didn't rely on Smith the way that the Colts would (and should) rely on Luck.

I just don't see the production on his resume that screams HC material. And if he wasn't even calling plays until that past three games, then he also lacks experience in that department. That's not really his fault, but it's also not something that can just be ignored. Also, I would hope the Colts wouldn't hire a guy off a three game sample.

Guys like McVay and Shanahan had stronger resumes...and it has translated well. But Nagy is a much bigger question mark at this point. Two years from now...it might be a different story. But right now I don't see much that makes me want him to be the Colts HC.

Reid has mostly always called the plays IIRC and for him to give that up to Nagy says a lot to me.  While I think Reid makes some boneheaded coaching decisions I still respect him as a coach.

  17. 16 minutes ago, Superman said:

Even to start the season, Alex Smith looked like an entirely different QB, throwing downfield, etc. Then the entire offense hit a rut, and didn't start clicking again until Nagy took over the play sheet.

I'd interview him. He wouldn't be at the top of my list, but I would have him on the list, for sure.

In case you said it and I missed it...sorry...   who is your top choice or are your top 3?

  18. 17 minutes ago, krunk said:

He wasn't the OC in those years previous, he was the QB coach.  He just became the OC this year and for parts of the year Andy Reid was the one calling the plays.  Offense didn't take off until Nagy took over the play calling.  Reid holds him in high regard.   Sort of rare for Reid to give up the play calling duties to anyone.

Ding ding ding.   We have a winner!!
