Is the game streaming anywhere today. I'm stuck in Kentucky.
-
On a side note; Did anyone notice how big Marshall looked on the field compared to our receivers and also in the post game interview on the field?
I like our receivers but really they are small compared to others.
-
Did Anderson get credit for a sack last night? I remember QB scrambling and was tackled short of the line and I thought it was Anderson.
He is impressive and will soon be known as a Beast, also he will line up all over the D line.
-
No to Bradshaw. We have a good backfield that's fully capable however the game calling is not allowing them to shine. I would say we have one of the better backfields in the league.
-
Positive - we are only 1 game out of first place in our division!
-
Thanks everyone for their post tonight, it at the least made the game more interesting.
-
The bright side: we're only one game out of first in our division!
-
Our run D has been great but this last slop will make it look poor in the stats.
-
We've got to coach up the O line. Look NE had 3 rookies and protected.
-
Maybe have luck roll out and pass
-
Hope the offense can light it up, cause the D line will be gassed with only 5 available against a run happy Jets team.Who cares? Mathis is back!!!!!
-
YEs really. I had hoped/predicted for McGill to do well and Irving to take over at ILB.Really? It's McGill and Irving, not Luck and Gore.
-
Crap Irving and McGill out. Can I take a mulligan on my predictions?
-
Wow, McGill and Kerr. Who will spell Parry?
-
Ok I'll play....Colts 27 - Jets 10
Good rookie night for Colts:
Anderson 1 sack & 6 tackles
McGill - 1 sack and 3 tackles
Geathers - 1 pick and 3 tackles
Also
4 total sacks
Varga screen for his first TD
Moore & Irving will help keep Jets under 100 running yards.
Turnovers will influence how close this game is.

It helps that there is now tape on how Rexy will try and use Taylor. Shows limitations.

Congrats

I think we really needed a big physical (Dez,Megatron,Jones) style #1. I know every other team wants one also!
But our smaller guys get beat up at the line or going up for the ball. Our size guys (Johnson) is older and a little slower. (Moncriff) looks weak and scared similar to PS Carter.
Other teams have noticed and will defend likewise.

Good lord no. He was a decent back with injury problems on the wrong side of the age scale. We have a very good backfield with Gore, Robinson, and Varga. With Gore being 31? We need to let the young guys learn and both of them are capable of becoming important pieces in our SB runs.
-
We're good with Gore/Robinson/Varga

The positive is its just the first regular season game. The negative is this Colts team is not very good. We will improve with experience or worsen when we play a good offensive team or have any season ending injuries especially on the offensive line. I thought the team was built to play faster and they look slow and lost on both sides of the ball. I know on paper we have more talent but we were much better last year.
After watching several games yesterday I also felt that several Colts looked slow and robotic as in thinking to much or just doing their job. We have speed and natural athleticism all around but only a few played that way.
-
Yeah I agree we were less effective against Williams and most of his runs were up the middle.
He had 26 of his 52 on one play inwhich he was stuck behind the line for 3 seconds without our ILB making the play. The line did very good but the ILB'er stunk it up.

everyone who says Luck is overrated would LOVE to have him as their QB
^This^

Does anyone think we should start Irving or Moore in place of either Free or DQ
Yes, start both

To me, the Dline is doing very good. The rookies are impressive and still learning. Langford is steady plus Winn seems to fit system. I look forward to seeing what McGill can add to this group, I'm hoping he will also cause havoc.
Little disappointed in OLB'ers. Wish we had an Ahole beast that demands being accounted for. Walden can become a factor and I believe Cole will produce similar numbers to Mathis.
ILB'ers, Jackson and Freeman seem to be hit or miss weaknesses for us. REALLY looking forward to Sio and Irving to take over starting and become forces in our pass rush schemes.
Corners - Davis very good, the rest are injured (butler/tiler/smith) or ps. When they all get healthy we will see a much better D and more QB pressure.
Safeties - Lowery is playing very good so far and Adams is ok this far. I believe Geathers is playing very good and will be the Colts Safety for years to come.
DC - with all the injuries his hands are tied but hopefully soon he will have all his weapons back and game plan some very aggressive schemes.
