     I agree....Dark one.....In fact, I think the Browns made a mistake with BOTH No.1s..

Mayfield and Ward will be good

..but I think Darnold (or Rosen) and Bradley Chubb were the better choices

    Mayfield won't bust.

Just to put myself on blast in later years or a pat on the back but this will be the best qb out of this 2018 qb draft class

    :)

    He's gonna be the best.

See, I just don't like all of these trade downs.  I don't know why people are so enamored with them.  I mean it's great we are getting a lot of holes plugged, but one issue we've had for years on defense is that we just have a bunch of average level starters over the past 5 years - ever since we switched to a 3-4.  Mathis was perhaps the exception, but we always knew one of these days, he will be gone and we'll just be meh, and that's what happened.  In fact we were worse than that.

So while I think we get at least some average level starters, and assuming some of these picks are "hits," above average level starters, there's not going to be any marquee players that we build around.  That was the purpose of Ballard trading down, is so that we can gain some more average-to-good starters but still be in a range to take a next level cornerstone player, such as Chubb or Edmunds, or 1 of another couple of guys.  I don't know who you thought would have been available at #6, but assuming it was one of those two guys - Chubb or Edmunds - I just don't think that the combination of Roquan and Carlton Davis is a better outcome.  1 elite player is almost always going to be better off in the long term than 1 above average and 1 good player.

I guess some people prefer to minimize risk and diversify, and that's acceptable.  But it seems like far to often people think that more picks mean more stars because the assumption is that you will hit on more players.  But the reality is, your chances of hitting on a player are less the further down the draft you go and the corollary of that is, the further down you draft, the less value that player will likely end up being in the long term.  It's not a perfect analysis, but a generally true one.  Players come in all shapes and sizes and we could debate forever if these two players are better than this one player, but even assuming we're all correct, I'd rather have the one elite prospect.

Roquan is just as elite as Chubb and Edmunds

Davis is a top 3 CB in the draft

    imo

Accuracy isn't really a trait. There are so many different things that play into that. The receivers, how often a QB is under pressure, weather, scheme, opposing coverage, etc... For it to be a trait it has to be something that can't fluctuate.

Passion to win is a blanket statement for immaturity. No one called Manziel "fiery" and "passionate" when he flipped off a bunch of fans in the NFL. If he can't handle not getting his hand shook in college, he isn't ready to lead grown men. Trash talk is fine but he should just let his play speak. Luck is as passionate as they come and you don't see him crotch grabbing.

And he does have off the field issues. He was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and resisting and fleeing arrest. He reached a plead deal of course, but that's significant. There's a video of the whole ordeal too. The whole "college kids make mistakes" mantra doesn't just mean the incident gets swept under the rug

And his arm talent is average. Actually, Allen is the only QB in the class with elite arm talent. Darnold and Jackson have good but not great arms, and everyone else has average arms (although Rosen did let a couple rainbows fly at the combine).

If it's not a trait, why do analysts nail Allen for being inaccurate? It's 100% a trait.

Baker has done nothing of the sort to fans.

He's also walked on twice, and has let his play talk, ala blowing out Kansas after the disrespect before the game

Do those off the field "problems" fall into the:

    Domestic abuse

    Drugs

    Partying

    etc

    No, it's not a problem.

He's got the arm for every throw in the NFL

    -Off the field concerns

-Extra movement in the pocket that is sometimes wasted

    -Average arm talent

-Ridiculous college production in a college offense that might not translate at the next level

-No one truly blue chip trait

    -Lots of wins

-Emotional immaturity described as being a "fiery" competitor

    -Boom or bust prospect

They've got a bunch of similarities. I don't think he is 100% Manziel, but he also isn't Brees or Wilson who people try to say is his ceiling because of his height. I think he's somewhere in-between. He's a better overall QB than Manziel but he doesn't have the skillset of a Wilson.

He's the most accurate QB in the draft....

He's a leader, and a damn good one. His crotch grab doesn't make him a villain. He has the passion to win. Coaches love it.

He doesn't have off the field problems, he was drunk and didn't do anything disastrous.

Don't agree with your average arm assessment

So you think we could still get a difference maker if we trade back?

    Baker Mayfield
    Josh Rosen
    Lamar Jackson
    Sam Darnold
    Saquon Barkley
    Bradley Chubb
    Quenton Nelson
    Denzel Ward

    Harold Landry
    Roquan Smith
    Tremaine Edmunds
    Isaiah Wynn
    Maurice Hurst
    Vita Vea
    Da'Ron Payne
    Taven Bryan

    Connor Williams

    Derrius Guice

    Jaire Alexander

Don’t like Chubb or Hubbard given other options. Very nice draft otherwise.

I believe both trade scenarios are realistic but it would leave Miami with no picks in rounds 2 or 3 (from another trade already)and no first rounder next year. That’s a high price. But if I’m the Colts that would be the price of doing business.

I think it's a fair price given the circumstances

    Who over Hubbard?
