  1. I'm looking for the pack to spread us out, then run the ball down our throat. I'm looking for Simms,Angerer, wheeler to play well. I don't expect much from Brackett. I also wanna see if Bullit will slow down and not over shoot plays like he did last week. Offensively I'm looking for our run game and blocking. I'm not expecting much from Painter and therefore the WR, bc he just can't throw an accurate ball.

    Prediction GB 27 Colts 17

And then we reach fever pitch

  2. When you talk about swag. You talk about the most intresting guy in the room, the biggest legend and the richest cat on the block. You walk into a room, and you know right off the bat, ' I gotta go talk to this guy, if I leave here without saying anything to him, I'll regret it the rest of my life', and that guy is Peyton Manning without a doubt. That's swagger, and PM has got it in spades, the most interesting man in the world. Dos equis him Brah.

  3. Bread into Colts fandom.

Got our first batch of season tickets in 88, we upgraded them in 92, and after the move, we actually changed seats and rows, to better spots at the Luke. I unfortunately relinquished my portion of the season tickets 2 years ago, although the other 2 seats are still in the family name. I was lucky enough to become averagely close with the team in the 93 94 season, and have some pretty fond memerioes of that. Me and my wife recently attended the Suite holders party in Playa Del Carmen watching the the Colts Titans game on the beach. The colts ahave always meant a lot to me and my family, reaching beyond the sport factor. It's what we did and talked about, and breathed. A Green Bay atmosphere in an Indy household if you will. I seem to have every rally monkey and extra point monkey in existence, and more memorabilia to shake a stick at. I couldn't imagine what I'd do without the Colts. Sometimes I may come off Asa stat junkie, or a hater, but I look at the Colts as an extension of myself. They are something I'm going to have to deal with for a long time, just like my punk brothers, so it's going to be a wild next couple of decades, bc these last few years, things have really heated up.

Now I'm getting jacked up for the season, and the future. Let's do this thing.

And bc I can't leave without taking a shot, I can't wait for Jimmy Caldwell to be a distance memory, that blank stare with a body needs to go practice a mime act instead of attempting to coach my team.

  4. This 'theyre not game planning, it's the preseason' garbage has got to stop. I've seen it said in multiple threads. Do you guys really think they are simply throwing the players out there and saying ' go deep' or 'run left'......

  5. I mentioned in another thread that I felt Collie would never be a #1 WR, and a lot of people had questions, so instead of hijacking the other thread, we shall continue the discussion here.

it's my opinion that Collie is not and #1 WR, he simply excels in his role, which is the slot. I love stats as much as the next guy, but Austin Collie is a prime example of them not telling the whole story. Obviously Collie had a fantastic year last year, pre injury, and we are lucky to have him, and hopefully things pick up right where they left off, but Collie does a majority of his work against OLBs and safeties. He's never been put in a position to show anyone what he is capable of doing against a teams 1 cover guy. If you think other teams are chomping at the bit snag a guy like collie and use him as a #1 WR you are mistaken. Obviously there are true #1 WR out there, guys like AJ,Fitzgerald,Roddy, Calvin. But I'm not even asking for Collie to reach that stage, which is completely unattainable. But there're other players out there taking #1 coverage, often drawing some help from over the top, that are head and shoulders better than Collie, I'm sorry but it's true. Now you add in the fact that Collie is being thrown to by Peyton, and I just feel that Colt fans are taking a good player in a great situation, and running with it.

Someone in the other thread mentioned a likeness to Welker, and that comparison is nearly as unfair as comparing him to AJ, or Fitzgerald. They do different things. But then again there is no player like Welker elsewhere in the NFL. A more apt comparison in my opinion would be a player like Stokley, Devone Bess, or Danny Amendola.

  6. Questions/ comments

A maximum of 63 full ride scholarships can be offered per year, of the roughly 103 man roster. Some of these kids aren't getting there school paid for, would they/should they be the ones being paid?

As someone else mentioned they are also not allowed to be employed, where as when I was in school, come summers I worked in my field and was able to do pretty well for myself. This is something that should probably be addressed.

I'm not sure of the rules, so perhaps someone can help me on this, but what is the protocol for when students have developed somethingof value, while at school. Chemists, computer programmers, etc, what if they create a software program and make millions, does the school receive compensation, or have a right to the work?

  7. How does having one of the best QBs of all time count against us as being a better and more successful franchise, Mod Edit What, wanna limit it to the Jeff George era? Last time I checked SD's division has been weak for quite a while. Frankly, I don't care how you break it down, Trav. I'm quite sure (and grateful) you and I will most likely never be on the same wavelength.

So here I sit having an exchange with someone who claims to be a Colt fan trying to find a point to convince me that we're inferior to SD. I'm outta here....

Mod Edit Your comment on being a better franchise rests soley on 1 SB. Considering the teams in that division have been to and won Super Bowls, Denver with multiple, Oakland historically is an iconic franchise, as are the Chiefs. But all those wins in the last 10 years really put us over the top huh? We have the titans, jags, and texans. All teams without any of that 'history' you love so much. And all those teams are where a majority of our wins have come from. It's not arguable, it's simply how it is, accept it and move on.

Mod Edit little respect for anything outside of a colts blue uniform. And unwilling to accept our marginal existence, compared to the rest of the NFL. open your blinds, glance into the outside world, it's a very beautiful place.

  8. If viewed from an historical perspective, yes, the Colts would still be better since SD only got one title back in the AFL and has an all-time 10-16 postseason record. The Colts won 3 NFL titles back in the old days and are 2-2 in SBs with an all time 19-18 postseason record. If limiting the view to the past 10 years, then one SB title each would bring it even if that's the only measure of success.....although the Colts have more regular season wins and the SD postseason record for that time frame is currently 6-8 (0-1 in SB) while the Colts are 11-12 (1-1 in SB).

The difference in franchise history(roughly 7 years), and having possibly the greatest QB of all time doesn't weight your argument? Or the division quality (last 10/15 years)?

While I don't find SB's as the end all be all of arguments, I find it comical that we are "the better and more successful organization. End of file." because we have a grand total of 1 more than them in nearly 40 years.

  9. Yea,he stunk 5 championships. He was a non factor in the success of those teams.Stats mean jack, how many wins did he have? His career qb rating is 85.7 and td to int ratio is 230-115,pretty darn good.Average i think not.

Once again it's the WCO and a very watered down one at that. He had a 59% completion percentage, with shuffle passes being at least 30% of the play calling. Average QB in a good situation. Jeff Garcia came in and lead them to the playoffs at like 38. The eagles were/are a good football team, they made it to the Championship games and super bowls just as much as McNabb did. And they lost them just as much as McNabb did, but McNabb as a QB just wasn't/isn't very good.

  10. If i remember correctly the eagles lost by 3 in a high scoring super bowl.I am not a big Mcnabb fan but he did make 5 nfc championships and a super bowl.hardly a bum.T.O changes teams like people change their underwear, proving he is talented but that teams tire of his act quickly.

McNabb was/is an average QB at best. He was put into a marvelous situation in Philly (aside from fans). He just can't throw, simple as that. The guy had a career completion percentage of 59% in Philly. In the West Coast Offense. Ugh, ugly.

  11. [quote name='everybodysgotone' timestamp='1313336927' post=

But anyway.....this is the guesswork end of things and part of the offseason amusement. If he's signed, I'd be surprised if TJ H. grabs somewhere between his career avg. & what Blair White accomplished in 2010. Bookmark this and check back in _____ (fill in the blank) months. Meanwhile, you've got some infamous folks on you're side to keep you company.

  12. So your saying he would not complain about the amount of passes coming his way? lol The man's ego is legendary,he throw his qb under the bus in the superbowl. He is not a colt player, after all there is no I in team. What "troubled" players have we ever brought in?

If he complained he'd be gone. Simple as that. That's the point, the Colts have shown they can do it without "insert player here" just fine. If that player wants to come in and be part of a successful franchise, and go after that elusive ring, then they can strap onto the colt machine and play ball, or they can go home. We have all the leadership in place we need. No signed player is coming in being viewed as a franchise 'saver', they are only here to aid.

And have you seen McNabb, how that guys scooted by this long is absurd, TO threw him under the bus for a reason. Guy was puking on the field during the super bowl. A super bowl Owens dominated in after snapping his leg in half 6 weeks earlier. THATS the champion I want on my team.
